When you head coach constantly makes excuses/blames officials you cannot expect the players to take responsibility and we have one of the best "excusers" in the business. Of course its a coaching problem. I think this a lot like Seths free throw problems. He bemoaned them and said they worked hard on improving them and nothing ever happened. CRM came in and they got better. Was that a coaching problem?

Those of you that think that winning will fix things, I disagree. I am afraid winning and more attention could make things worse. People are who they are and just because a guy is great at laying a foundation doesn't mean he can do a great job painting the house. Emotion can only carry you so far. I watched this guys press conference and saw the poise, confidence and character that champions posses.

I've thought about it all day and I think I figured it out. The problem is two fold, first he is beseiged by more sycophants than I could ever imagine. I love the guy, hell I termed him "The Jim" because there was no Jim better in the history of the world. He has done amazing things at USF and I hope that he stays here as long as he wants. Having said that I have to say that there is something different about him this year. He is defensive and not the kind of defense that made him rich and famous. He is edgy and to me it seems that there is something really wrong. It may be with the program or with him personally but I am afraid somethng is going to break. I hope everythings alright, hell it could just be that he has lost some control since DW was hired and he is uncomfortable with that loss and is looking to exert more control over other areas. Hell it could be that he is angry with the way this young team is developing, or he is mad at himself for going with PJ these last few years. In any event, I just wouldn't be surprised if something HUGE happens this year. Go Bulls.
