  1. Here's where our marketing department needs to send a ton of data to Fox or whomever is broadcasting so they can be sure to mention the fact that he played here on the air. Also, to make sure that they don't say 'Southern' Florida.
  2. Ok... now that the Bucs have released their schedule, I thought I'd look ahead to see for which games we would most likely be able to have the field at Ray Jay prepared properly.  That is, endzones painted with "South" and "Florida", large school logo at midfield without a white flag background, C-USA logos at opposite 30's, etc. Bucs - 8/28 - Miami USF - 9/4  (or 5 or 6) - Pittsburgh USF - 9/11 - Tenn Tech Bucs - 9/19 - Seattle USF - 10/2 (possible change for TV) - Southern Miss Bucs - 10/3 - Denver USF - 10/16 - Army Bucs - 10/24 - Chicago Bucs - 11/7 - Kawika USF - 11/13 - East Carolina Bucs - 11/21 - San Fran USF - 11/27 - Memphis Bucs - 12/5 - Atlanta This has to be the BEST Bucs home schedule we have had in terms of conflict with only the USM game (if it isn't moved) causing problems with getting the field ready for the Bucs.  There is no reason why each home game should not be fully "Bullified"! By the way, I noticed at the Spring game that the red seats are turning a nice pink in the sun. Very lovely. A suggestion:  paint them green and then when and if they fade, it will still be green. Go Bulls!
  3. with Murray State. Remember that we were looking to book Murray State, but took Tenn Tech, instead. http://connecticut.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1368&tid=33941374&sid=&style=2
  4. The TCU series is going to be huge. Definately more important that the UCF games. Great win, Bulls!
  5. on this quiz: http://encarta.msn.com/encnet/Features/Quiz/Quiz.aspx?QuizID=110
  6. do we actually have a closer to put on the mound where we can be up by less than 5 runs in the 9th and feel good about coming away with a win?
  7. Click on the "More Links" link at the top of this screen.
  8. Yep.  I remember as a kid, closing all the curtains and watching Shock Theater.  Manual and Andy coming on during a break was a welcome relief to whatever scary movie was playing. The funny thing was, he did those spots live because the late night crew at 13 never told him about video tape.  If they did, that would mean missing out on all the food he brought in each week.
  9. So it looks like if growth meets or exceeds last year, we may be knocking on the 20K level.
  10. MM, I heard that the NFL starts the following Sunday, so no MNF conflict. Roger that on the t-storms...definately a factor, so I agree that would be a negative. By 7, they are pretty much over. As far as the out-of-towners, they could have partied all weekend and then head right to the airport after the game. Most could be home in time to hear about our win on the 11 o'clock news.
  11. Do you really think it would hurt attendance if it were at 4 p.m., as speculated? I might agree with you if it were a night game.
  12. You can right click on any picture and select 'properties'. The source of the picture is there.
  13. Hopefully, Lirette doesn't have a first inning like he did against ECU. He has shown some good pitching in earlier starts and I'm sure he'll do fine. I really do hope this rain stops before the game.
  14. UAB...because we knew what was on the line and we didn't come through.
  15. Eric, Can you come and bid on items without going to the dinner?
  16. I agree with Markey. The old Bull had more character. The new one has a head that looks like one of those Chinese parade dragons or something Gamma Ra would fight in order to save Tokyo.
  17. Bad news, Bien. I drove by Cafe' Pepe on Kennedy and it is shut down. I don't think they had another location. I think we need to start a Tampa restaurant thread for this, but nothing beats the Sea Bass a la Russa at the Valencia Gardens, if you're looking for Spanish food. A side of plantanos fritos and I'm one happy man. I still remember Manual Berro from VG coming on Channel 13 at midnight during Shock Theater with all that food. I still remember his tag line: "where all rooms are air conditioned".
  18. On the other hand, being on ESPN and WINNING would be more meaningful than winning amidst all the other teams playing on Saturday. Hopefully, you'll still be able to make the game, but you can't fault the athletic dept for doing what's best to bring in the money to get us ramped up the level of the BE. This TV game will help the program's finances tremendously.
  19. Seems to me that if it's a day game, they could arrange flights to have them home later that evening and be at work the next day. They would have the weekend before to enjoy the beaches, Busch Gardens, etc.
  20. Remember that we have just passed the renewal deadline for season tiickets (4/1) and the big push for season ticket sales hasn't realy begun. That being said, I have heard is that the renewals have exceeded last year (i.e., lower attrition) and so I expect the numbers to be going up. I would think the fact that we had a schedule early this year (remember last year??) and the publicity of our move to the BE should really help. I would hope they really play on the BE move heavily with something like "lock in the best seats available now for when the BE comes to town starting in 2005" in addition to touting home games against the likes of Pitt this year. Iwould think 20K is a reasonable goal.... not sure how close we'll get, but I think it's attainable.
