  1. Anyone going to the race? Open wheel racing is pretty exciting. I think the best american technology is still in the champ/cart series though. But if this becomes the Long Beach if the east, could be interesting. The scenery is definately on track. http://www.sptimes.com/2005/03/31/Southpinellas/Officials__Race_right.shtml
  2. A little birdie told me that there is all sorts of fundraising issues for the band. Even if one was to donate money for the band, it probably would not end up in their hands. Stuck in the tape.
  3. We should've put in a serious bid. Probably shooting for bigger fish, Tampa and Orlando are famous for that.
  4. If you can stand car rides, this one would be a great road trip. Beale Street is fun. Great Q, and a nice drive through the mountains and rolling hills. Not sure about the weather though.
  5. It is nice to get noticed when it is for something positive.
  6. Memphis is a great town. Beale street is great, the peapody is great. Graceland was a dissapointment though.
  7. Is there a limit to how many times you can take the SAT/ACT?
  8. Yes http://gobulls.usf.edu/Sports/News.asp?i=1266&s=Football
  9. Buchalter is a great guy. But lets just say he's probably happy that there is an escalator in the front lobby of the sentinel. He's getting up there in age.
  10. Very wise and informed point.  I will never return to Hattiesburg!  Likewise, I hope we keep Memphis in OOC for football and hoops because its such a fun town to visit.
  11. Well look at that, the kings beat the lakers.
  12. I hate band posts and usually avoid them. There is no serious effort to make the band larger other than words. The first year the band existed it was mainly a word of mouth thing. Sid bought enough instruments to equip a band almost twice the size it was. I think there are like 20 available sousaphones. I heard from someone that they were starting a band, I inquired with the Fine arts department and that was it. Most bands recruit heavily from "quality" highschool programs. I first heard about UCF from their band recruiting for example. We need to do the same thing. We also need to find former "band geeks" that enroll at USF and brainwash them into joining. College band was more fun for me than other other activity I did in college because it was nothing but an excuse for similarly minded and talented folks to get together and party. There were no rules or committments other than showing up to practice. Secondly we got to travel to conference tournaments for both women and men hoops. Those were the days.
  13. I never like to bad mouth conference city, but I have never had a worse time than my last weekend in Birmingham.
  14. Maurices was pretty good. Had ribs, pork, and hash over rice. Got nothing on Luptons. Not usually a fan of the mustard sauces, but it was pretty good. The southern hertitage stuff was quite a trip. Off to checkout the bars!
  15. I'm with ya. Wasn't too impressed with anything in birmingham.
  16. Where should I go for good 'que? Always gotta try the regional 'que.
