  1. 1. No 2. You could alot worse than me! 3. Washing dishes 4. Camel 5. Stone
  2. 49 points scored - what a disaster. Can we give CJL an extension while we are at it?
  3. Will our 354th ranked (out of 358 DI teams) scoring offense crack our season average of 57.7 points per game tonight?
  4. Thats the same shtick the Miss America pageant says - "scholarship opportunities" lol
  5. If I recall the article correctly, they were responding to an argument being made by others that how could the MBB coach who sucks make more money than the WBB coach who is awesome, and the paper used the revenue counter argument.
  6. This is the same argument that the USWNT tries to make in soccer and it doesn't hold water. If you want more money then generate more revenue. Not being paid as much as the men isn't a gender pay gap issue, it's a revenue issue. For all practical purposes you are playing different sports.
  7. I'm not saying that he hasn't done some nice things, but attendance and on field performance is awful. And if he can't get that turned around, those metrics you quote are going to go in the opposite direction. Thanks for the counterpoint here Triple B and the numbers.
  8. I think it's fair to say he has lost the market share he started with for football and to a lesser degree basketball. I should have phrased the original statement better.
  9. Attendance for football has fallen in half since our last winning season and football and MBB is pretty much a joke when it comes up in conversation among alot of the people I know personally and professionally. I guess you could say they never "had the Tampa Bay area" relative to the Lightning and Bucs, but there are very few casual USF fans left and many of diehards are in hibernation. Each year under Kelly has gotten progressively worse and it shows up in fan interest and attendance. I guess the height of interest under Kelly could be debated.
  10. If you go back and read I was referencing that Kelly has lost the Tampa Bay area, not MBB. Although I do remember many years where we averaged more fans that what we have seen this season, and I do recall a sell out roughly 30 years ago against the Gators and the mullet! My bad if I wasn't clear about that.
  11. To the OP, yes Gregory can still be fired after the end of the season and the buyout is still 20-weeks of his annual salary or roughly $450k - reportedly there was no change to the buyout in his contract with the extension. The bigger issue is for Kelly - firing a guy just a couple months after extending him in such a public way will further damage his credibility. With the downward trajectory he has the athletic department on, any additional missteps will cripple his ability to fundraise and rally support for the program. Gregory likely gets put on notice publicly after the season and gets a prove-it season in 2022-23. For Kelly, has lost the Tampa Bay area and suspect that the support that remains within the 5 miles radius around campus will not last forever. The athletic department is a show of its former self.
  12. Well we did UCF by 24 so this team is capable of pulling a rabbit out of its hat. As far as the extension is concerned its possible the revenue impacts of Covid may have led to Kelly needing to put it on the back burner until they had a line of sight to post-Covid revenues.
  13. 8-23 certainly looks possible. Real Time RPI has us beating Tulane and Tulsa at home to get to 8 wins. IMO I thought Gregory needed to go 16-15 to save his job but it now looks like half that total was enough to get extended and for him to stick around a couple more years.
  14. Of 130 FBS schools only FIU has a worse combined winning percentage in football and men's basketball over the last 2 years. And FIU athletics is a dumpster fire.
  15. I feel pretty confident a Rick Pitino led team of 5 intramural guys on campus could beat this team.
