  1. Only a couple times, and mostly in reference to Lindy Infante and Steve Spurrier who were strong influences on Kerwin's style.
  2. I see that USF just offered Plant QB Tucker Gleason. I think he is a long shot (already has an offer from UGA and mom likes UGA), but he would be really fun to watch in Kerwin's offense. Here is his highlight reel. Yes, it is very long. It even includes highlights from his playoff games this year (Vierra and Lakeland). http://l.hudl.com/video/3/7196933/5b7da7934ba8890e24d50610
  3. I saw that USF just offered 2020 QB Tucker Gleason from Plant. I think he is a long shot (has an offer from UGA) but he would be very exciting in Kerwin’s offense.
  4. I heard bad things about your former Oline coach from a buddy of mine who’s son was one of your linemen. He was not well liked or respected.
  5. 5 read system and the QB should have eliminated two of them by the time he sets his plant foot. QB has to be smart. The system is designed to get receivers separation instead of 50/50 balls. He says Peyton Manning was one of the best QB's in history because he was smart enough to know when to check down. In his system you never take a negative play if possible. Scramble for two yards or throw it away. The next play might go for a TD if you maintain down and distance discipline. QB has to be willing to run to make sure you keep the numbers right (defenders in the box). The guy knows what he is talking about. And its more than talk. He has walked the walk at every level he has coached.
  6. I like the fact that he says he tailors the system to match the players. Too many OC’s try to force a system on players regardless of their abilities.
  7. Kyle Trina broke his hand pretty early this year, right? He’ll probably be granted a medical redshirt if he applies for it. He’s more of a read option QB than a passer. At Plant I think he had more carries as a running back than he had pass attempts.
  8. In case someone hasn't seen Wells play, here is a link to the highlights of the Championship game. He didn't run it at all this game for some reason, but at least it gives you an idea of how he runs the offense. The offense seems to be based on touch and accuracy instead of having a cannon of an arm. https://www.msn.com/en-ie/news/video/2018-division-2-football-championship-ferris-state-vs-valdosta-state-full-game-highlights/vp-BBS2hJM
  9. Think of it this way. If a kid threw for 4,000 yards, 38 td’s, ran for another 800 yards, was runner up for Mr. Football, and won the state championship in high school, would you want him as a recruit?
  10. McCloud and Battle can both run pretty well (I think McCloud runs a bit better). That helps a struggling o line immensely.
  11. Battles was rated 0.85 and McCloud was rated 0.82 (both 3*'s). I haven't seen Battles play in person, but comparing his highlights to what I've seen of McCloud, McCloud is a more natural runner. McCloud was called on to run quite a bit in Plant's offensive scheme. He's not the runner his brother Ray Ray (currently with the Bills) is, but he runs strong. He always seemed to be more accurate with the long pass than the intermediate ones for some reason. But I think that will fit right in with Bell's offensive philosophy.
  12. If the o line doesn't provide enough time for the pass play to develop, CKB lets the QB run. The QB Wells ran for over 800 yards this year and was the second leading rusher on the team. Can Blake run? I know Jordan can.
  13. "Ion got no homies I’m taking everything that’s owe to me this year". It kills me to see our "student" athletes writing like this.
  14. Speaking of which, has anyone heard what the issues were? 11 guys makes me think it was a group thing. UF had our credit card shenanigans. Were these guys just locker room distractions, or do you think it was more than that?
  15. Even if Rogan Wells isn’t as physically gifted as the QB’s currently on the roster, he could certainly help them learn Bell’s system. There is no doubt that he is better than them at running it right now.
  16. C’mon now. I was just wondering who the difference makers were going to be next year. My daughter’s godfather’s son is on the team and several kids I know from Plant are on the team (Leo Parker is going to be a playmaker for you). I would have been at the bowl game but the weather kept me away.
  17. UCF was fun to watch under Frost, but are losing their luster under Heupel. My daughter may end up there for college, so I may have to add them to the list.
  18. I wonder if he will bring his son, Cade, along as a grad assistant again. Cade helped coach the QB’s at VSU.
  19. Does landing Kerwin Bell, who is known for high flying offenses, as OC help entice new WR recruits to help replace those who were invited to leave? I am not familiar with the USF recruiting board. Are there remaining WR targets out there?
  20. Yes, sir. I’m not sure why he transferred. He played well at UF and got lots of playing time. It was a crowded backfield though. I think transferring worked out great for him, and USF.
  21. Sounds like you are just a couple years older than me. I graduated high school in 1986. Where would be a good place to read up on USF’s returners on offense? I am familiar with Cronkrite since is was at UF first. And I know the main other rb is a speedster. Who will be at wr? I seem to recall a couple guys with track speed.
  22. My first degree was from UF. The second was from USF, 3rd from Stetson, and 4th from UF again. I still have my ticket stub from the inaugural USF football game. I root for both UF and USF, but being a UF fan is a family generational thing. Charlie is never home. In fact, he is selling his house here in South Tampa to move closer to USF. But I promise, next time I see him I am going to implore him to turn Kerwin loose!
