    Here is an article about NU:  https://omaha.com/news/state-regional/education/cutting-programs-merging-campuses-nebraska-university-leaders-ponder-bold-changes-to-compete/article_35dabe3a-f435-11ee-bb4b-5360b0e1ccb1.html

    Here's something interesting from the article:  The University of South Florida in 2020 consolidated its three separate campuses into a much larger, singularly accredited university. Three years later, USF was invited to join the AAU.

    I wonder if the stipulation of NU joining the B1G was being able to re-obtain AAU status?

    MK will have to pull another rabbit out of the hat if CAAR is heading out. I trust MK to be able to keep the momentum going as long as USF doesn’t make him use a hiring search firm lol. The good news is that many other coaches & players saw that winning can be done at USF

    Maybe CAG can coach Basketball?

    App State would have been my dream school to add. I hope some day we schedule a series with them.

    I go up to vacation around there every fall and it's just amazing, imagine having the bulls play up there...sigh....

    I think ECU would have blocked them.

    I do feel like better teams could have been pulled from CUSA and Sun Belt. I don’t think MWC wanted any part of this, multiple times we have tried and multiple times they have said “naw.”

    This has to be the most quiet off-season for our football team ever. Barely a peep on the progress.

    I was thinking the same thing.

    Golesh et al, must be cooking up something spicy for this season. Can’t prepare to play us if everything is a question mark.

    Yeah, if you're tallying upsets, I wouldn't peel off a lot of layers of the onion. That was a down year (7-6) for FSU, but again - a win is a win, regardless. Same with three three-point wins over Auburn & Notre Dame. Not resounding wins, but they are wins, nonetheless.

    Actually, you know what, I thought about it some more and I am changing my mind back. Let’s claim all the upsets, and we can let the losers waste their. Death explaining “actually, it was a down year for our team. That’s why you won.”

    We definitely have scored some big wins  over the years…my first thought was FSU!

    I mean, wasn’t that technically a bad FSU team? If there are such things as quality losses, can’t there also exist non-quality wins?

    Not trying to rain on your parade, because I immediately thought FSU as well. I just thought about it some more.

    They really just to need have 5 power  regional conferences with regularation. The power confernces would take a g5 conference and swap out the best two lower conference teams with the top two g5 teams every season.

    SEC---> AAC

    ACC---> Sun Belt

    B1G---> MAC

    Pac12--->MWC

    B12-->CUSA

    I like this idea, I would swap AAC and Sun Belt though. Seems more natural that way.

    Do that, and give bids this way 2 each to SEC/B1G, 1 each to the rest and 1 to the G5 as a total. (8 total).

    I was originally going to say the same format above, AND 1 in for each G5, give the top 4 week 1 bye (12 total). Then award payouts by final finish rankings. Obviously SEC and B1G would be getting more since 2 in each. Everybody wins

    I agree. If it is ONLY FSU and Clemson, I think we stand a good chance of getting invited to the ACC, if we are invited along with OSU, WSU and a couple others the ACC would still be better than the B12; and if the ACC can renegotiate or find that there needs to be a balance of 4 power conferences and hold to it, it could be the absolute best scenario for us.

    That and steal WVU from the B12

    I think both the ACC and Big 12 either currently has or soon will have remorse on some of their expansion.

    I am not knocking these fine schools, but I think the leagues will regret taking them:

    ACC: SMU, Cal, Stanford

    Big 12: Cincy, Houston

    Not picking on those schools, just thinking that the choice at the time looked good, but is now not ideal.

    There is always blowing it up and combining the best of the two conferences plus the G5 or going regional.

    If the B12's next TV contract includes a substantial pay increase (thinking neighborhood of $10M+ per school), plus pro-rata additions, I can see the ACC being in trouble then. Conference distributions will be interesting for the 23/24 year.

    $10M per school seems like so little money compared to B10/SEC.

    Also, really hoping that B10/SEC never win another national championship again in anything.
