They had any of the Big 12 to choose from and they would have jumped. But that just would have shifted where some of the 2nd tier P4 teams coalesced. It'd be PAC centered instead of Big 12 centered. The B1G bound teams probably leave still but instead of OSU and WSU left out, it's Baylor, Kansas State, Iowa State, and WVU.

Where the PAC really dropped the ball was over a decade a go when they were on the verge of adding Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, and Colorado to make a PAC16. With a core of USC, UCLA, UW, UO, Texas, Oklahoma, and TAMU they would have been a legitimate equal challenger to the B1G and SEC brand wise.

That would have locked the other Power conferences from any significant westward expansion.

Aw heck yeah! Random gut feeling percentages.

There was one dude on the Texas Tech board a few years ago, righter after Texas and Oklahoma left, that would post updated percentage numbers for TT landing in the PAC or SEC. Some say he's still making up numbers to this day.

He must have assumed that PAC would overcome their odd west coast elitism to be proactive and expand.

Can you imagine if they snatched up TT, Ok State, Kansas; instead of imploding?

Wasn't the round before that the loss of TAMU/Mizzou/Nebraska? So he is saying -Mizzou/TAMU/Nebraska/UT-A/Oklahoma, and +c/BYU/Hou/Cinci/ASU/Zona/Utah/Colorado/WVU is better than +USCLA/Oregon/Wash/Nebraska or +UT-A/Oklahoma/Mizzou/TAMU?

    Weird take I guess.

    I have an idea.

Every 10 years (or 😎 dissolve all conference memberships. Put all DI football schools in a pool. The conferences then draft the schools for the next 10 year memberships. Flat rate tv contracts across the board for each conference.

That way there is no poaching, or grant of rights. And in 10 years everyone gets realignment fever.

I'm just excited for both CFB and MBB to start this season so that we can crush everyone in our league and then get invited to the B10.

Just win. And keep winning. Need to be on prime time television consistently (not **** the bed) then the dominoes will collapse.

We are so good at ******** the bed, we would be playing Tennessee (this is our year) every year in the ******** the Bed National Championship.

    • Revenue distribution: The Big Ten and SEC each earn 29% of the $1.3 billion; the ACC gets 17.1% while the Big 12 receives 14.7%; the remaining amount will be distributed to Notre Dame (about 1%) and the 64 Group of Five teams (about 9%).

9% to the 64 Group of Five teams.  Wow, sounds fair to me....😕  I guess they think fans from teams left out of the playoff system and revenue sharing will still watch the playoffs?

Unfortunately they probably still will. I find it interesting how much people watch the product even when their team is not anywhere in the picture.

I mean, I would watch if tOSU, FSU, or CU made it into the playoffs/championship. Outside of the AAC, I enjoy following those teams.

Close your eyes, now picture it is spring of 2025 and USF stadium is under construction.  We had a fantastic fall 2024 winning football season and coach is kicking rocking it on the recruiting trail.  Imagine now players are coming to campus for visits and they see parts of the stadium going up.  They see in the news that the ACC is breaking up and some of the cool kids are leaving.  They hear we are having conversations with 3 conferences.   Now, see the recruits and transfers that coach is landing.    Ok, open your eyes, now time to get back to work.

Bro, I think you just found my “happy place” meditation focus.

Taking the high road on this .....

Maybe he accidentally walked through a wormhole in a parallel universe where this actually happened?

I do think if the ACC wants to attempt to compete with the cross country mega conferences, that they should snag Utah, SDSU, CU, Ok state, t tech, Baylor, WVU, usf, UConn. (After losing FSU and Clemson and UNC)

BXII snags MWC and AAC teams. Also, Kansas to B10, and BYU goes back to independence.

Per transfer rules, any of our players that entered the portal can rescind their transfer and return to our squad. There would need to be mutual agreement. Therefore, it is possible that the school and the player discussed and agreed that the player could enter the portal to see what offers he got. If he is not happy with the offers, he would return. If the school has had such an agreement with any of our players, it is possible that some may return. Just saying.

I mean, the players leaving from our team will probably find a landing place that isn’t USF.

If they do, that’s fine. This season was such a gift, even if it is for that one moment in time.
