  1. I don't know. Maybe someone can call Rutgers, West Virginia, Louisville.
  2. Didn't he essentially support your gripes about the current state of the program? Is this a "I can talk about my family, but you can't" situation?
  3. You would hope given their National Championship
  4. 4-8 and they ran out the favorite son. Call it what you want, but the team was much improved and call it incomplete. Other two jobs were dumpster fires. And I really have no opinion of the job done at Oregon. I just think the whole argument against him is kind of funny.
  5. Some people may look at the fact that a coach took over a program (3 times) that was a dumpster fire and turned it around quickly as a sign of that person being a good coach. If said coach stuck around longer at sites, then said coach probably overcomes the 6-18 beginning record as he put out that raging dumpster fire.
  6. Some people pick and choose what empirical evidence to judge by Dreams get bigger as time passes
  7. For sure, but he's done a good job thus far in getting programs back in the right direction (no statues) he just hasn't seen it all the way through. Mainly because better opportunities have come about. He's at his "dream job" now.
  8. As I said, you've eliminated at least 90% of the coaches (probably more) from the "good coaches pool" if the stud players get the "credit" for the success
  9. He left each school better than he found it. You can give him and incomplete for oregon if you like.
  10. Agreed. Although ego or not I'd be happy to get paid millions to not coach if necessary
  11. I meant where I bolded was an area I would stress. And by job security, I was looking at not being fired as easily. You are correct, he's getting paid and has more security overall at the P5 schools even if expectations are higher.
  12. I don't consider turning around 3 programs that were in disarray when he arrived "mediocre". If he stayed here he would have easily surpass that "mediocre" w/l record
  13. I can see some being resentful for leaving before the job was finished, but the hate and trying to act like he can't coach is kind of extreme. You laid out the reasons for a coach leaving with stress on the highlighted part. I don't know if he has more security. I've said before and will continue to say, in our current state our coaches have a 3-5 year shelf life unless someone just really likes the environment here and is happy making a little less money with almost no shot at a title
  14. He's turned out OK. I don't know if he actually "tanked", but he may have been frustrated and lost some of the drive. Either way he looked in over his head and left the team a crap fest
  15. I'm sure he liked that which could explain tanking instead of resigning
  16. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/open-mike/os-sp-ucf-spring-game-mike-bianchi-0422-story.html#
  17. It was second hand but from a former SEC HC who spoke with Skippy.
  18. You aren't lying. It definitely appeared he was tanking.
  19. and I'm hoping they are right. not to mention the difference when the target is on your back from the get go
  20. This would lend support to the theory that the administration had no plan
  21. good point, but at least they have a legitimate claim at the moment unlike fau
  22. For what it's worth, I heard that Skippy wasn't happy with the administrative support at USF fairly early on and as time past was eager to move on. I believe some was related to academics, but not all.
  23. Helfrich only had one bad year but it was atrocious including an Oregon State loss I believe. He did leave some talent including the stud QB. They were 6-1 when that QB was injured and then the bottom fell out
