Looks like he's headed back out for 9th.
That's huge. Especially with the hitters in this lineup

Needed this from Sully. .

Nothing beautiful right about now. I think Yanni's missed opportunity may have been game.
Very ugly indeed. Epic comeback or bust......Never a good spot to be in.

Straight out of the box and in a fight....

2 minutes for ripping a guys jersey off? worth it, that was hilarious.

Another 9 am start. Hopefully we do a better job of waking up and hitting.

Really glad we got this one. Two and out would not have been a good look.
Glad the hitting came around. As the day went and guys started seeing more pitches they got locked in.

Big Joe breaking it open!!

As are ulcers ....... Heading out to game with an equal amount of anticipation and trepidation.
That's the beauty of it.

I think my point might be getting a little misinterpreted
The whole point of bringing up Kilgore is that in a game where we threw our ace and they threw the bullpen......Our ace wasn't the best pitcher on the field, nor was the pitcher who did the most to determine the outcome. Going into that game there should be a hope that our ace would be that guy.
He left that game at 1-1, if he stays through the seventh and its him against Bohm that fourth time through. You could make a case that the whole game turns, but that was over six outs after he had to leave. That's what I hope for with Shane every time he goes out. That's the kind of game changing pitcher SM can be, its in him, we saw against memphis. He just has to throw strikes. Here's to his regional start, I hope he meets those expectations. If he does, this team can win.

Agreed. Great job by our (Redshirt Soph) Ace today in battling himself some and still only giving up 1 ER through 5 giving us more than ample opportunity to prevail. Shame the bats left the bases loaded twice again today. Hopefully we swing it better against the kitty cats here shortly
Ahh you are mistaken. I was referencing Keylan Kilgore, the reliever who bested our "ace" in every statistical category today.
But it is what it is, I wasn't surprised, just hoped that today would be the day that he took that next step.

Could be looking at an hour or so.

Without fully taking a stance because I don't have the same info on QF but being around BJD, he seemed like the kinda guy who you could just hand any piece of sporting equipment to and he was gonna figure out how use it well. The kinda guy everybody wants for intramurals. QF was probably more elusive but BJ was not easy to bring down either.

looks like it’s gonna be Cin. Probably push back game time too

I don't think its about who you blame a loss on, Its who the leaders are, and more importantly, who they aren't. No ones ace should get out pitched by a So. reliever in the first round of the conference tourney.

Game 7....where legends are made.

Pete will deliver!
He's been a rock for us in the past when we needed him. The last two starts for him have been a struggle but hopefully he shows big in the big moment. Really need him to go 7 or more.

Sleeping in their own beds and longer time to prep and practice in their own facility?
My nephew is going to their hitting camp right now and on Sunday they said that they were planning on staying in Clearwater and busing to practice at their own facility.

All these years and zero tournament championships...unreal. Hope we can rebound out of the losers bracket but it is long odds at best.
We were a long shot in this tourney from the start.
Not enough pitching up top to mask the weaknesses in the Middle relief spot.

Yes, yes, and yes. I would also add commanded pitches beat most hitters. Bartolo Colon proves it in his mid 40's. WSU only had 3 total walks today. Its hard to score when the pitcher makes you work for it.

Our bullpen has done its job, bats just haven't produced.
They have done well I will agree, I was more or less saying that the deck was stacked against them.

Ugly sequence there. Back down 2
This bullpen wasn't going to make it through 12 outs. its just too much for them. Sad part is we still have to play for our AAC lives today. Best player on the field has been a so. relief pitcher from Wichita.......and Alec Bohm.
