Big 10 offers Notre Dame, Missouri, Nebraska and Rutgers to join league.

Nebraska? I did not know they were interested in them.

Only 1 Big East Football team...Do you think Notre Dame accepts? I mean the Big 10 deal will have to have them making more than they already do as an independent with their own TV deal.

If true and the teams named accept it is a blessing for the Big East.  We would have to replace two BB schools and 1 FB school, but can add a BB school with a FBS school to get the necessary 9 teams.  Based on that need and the internal politics of the BE I think the schools would come down the following:

Memphis

East Carolina

Texas Christian

Central Florida

Marshall

I think this would be the ordering because Memphis can replace ND in BB and provide a ninth FB team for scheduling.  TCU because of the TV market and better football performance than either UCF or ECU, but distance and poor BB may mitigate against them.  ECU has a better FB reputation than UCF (and attendance) and the Raleigh-Durham area offers a population area not much smaller than Orlando.  UCF is fourth because they don't add much beyond Orlando and with the increasing amount of USF coverage in Orlando that might not be enough.  Also the BE seems to have an unwritten one team to one state rule in FB.

best possible scenario, imo. good riddance to rutgers and nd, hope they both accept. big east should make it clear to nd that if they don't jump, they have to become a full football member. no more halfway deals.

still, 15 teams is a strange number. 14 or 16 makes more sense. might they be banking on nd turning them down?

Where realistically would you want USF to go?

this isnt good for usf to be in a watered down conference

but lets face it

usf has done nothing to distinguish themselves so they arent getting upgrades

it is a shame because at the end of the day usf undertachieved and rutgers overachieved and they were rewarded
