I know Battie surviving is the most important part of this story, but why hasn't there been any type of update regarding the suspects from Sarasota PD? What kind of city of Sarasota? It always sounded like a retirement community.

Yeah every time I went down there to the hipster movie theatre it was like a sleepy town.  Granted that was a long time ago.

I live there. Used to be a great, mid-sized Florida city, but thanks to massive overdevelopment and extreme right-wing politics, it’s now paradise lost.

Well extreme left wing politics caused people to flee there during covid and ruined it.  The horseshoe theory.

Sarasota, just like every other city, has good and bad neighborhoods. Where the shooting took place is Poinsettia Park.

At one point in time, the entire peninsula was a 'retirement community'. A lot of changes have taken place of the decades and it's difficult to paint any city with one broad brush. https://datausa.io/profile/geo/sarasota-fl/

Correct, we got wackos from all over the country moving here in 2020-21-22. And as someone who saw TWO close acquaintances die from Covid, I still can’t fathom how it ever became a political issue. But the greased-palmed, pro-developer movement started way before that. We used to have one of the nicest and best bayfront views anywhere and now it’s high-rise condo after high-rise condo. No infrastructure to match, so the traffic is like big city traffic, without any of the night life or things to do that big cities have. Now we have the Zieglers, Michael Flynn, the Cyber Ninjas, and a bevy of other lesser-known wack jobs waiting for their turn.

It’s not a right vs. left thing. It’s always been very right-leaning in Sarasota. What we have these days is something else entirely. As someone who registered as a Republican when Ronald Reagan was in the White House - this ain’t what I remember.

I don’t expect to change anyone’s mind and it’s the last I’ll say about any of this here. We are all Bull brothers. Thinking of the pain Brian’s family must be feeling and hoping they find some peace.

Sad news for Brian, his brother, and family. I hope he makes a full recovery.  I hope Auburn keeps his NIL deal money coming to him at least for this season even if he doesn't play.
