For me, that's not even a partial concern in who we hire. How many jobs are there in college football where someone isn't going to leave for a "better" one? 5? 10 out of hundreds? If you're not one of those, you're losing your coach when those other schools come calling. We're not one of those 5 or 10.

Agree 100%. USF needs to stop acting like we're a destination landing spot for a head coach. We are who we are and we need to accept it.

I think we want somebody that's willing to give us 3-5 years. Plenty of coaches on lower levels are doing so. We don't need a coach that's leaving after 1-2 successful seasons. ...well now that I think of it...I would love 1 or 2 successful seasons..... hell bring on the coach using us for a stepping stone!! lol

With where this team currently is, I don't see how a coach could achieve any level of success worth hiring him away from us in less than 3 years.

In the absolutely best case scenario, you get something like 4-8 next year, 8-5, then 11-2 ands he's gone. I'm good with that.

As long as the coach leaves us a decent cupboard, then I'm good with it as well.

I'm going to be accused of busting ass again but the primary reason for that criteria is there is one coach, and one coach only, that fits it ......

It wasn't in the criteria Trip ⬇️

Quote
  1. Previous head coaching experience
  2. Proven, known experience recruiting Florida
  3. Proven, known ability to develop players
  4. Experience identifying talent on the portal
  5. A demonstrated undying, contagious competiviteness

You're providing either disinformation, misinformation, or crafting your own narrative or gaslighting all of us.  What is going on?

I feel this is a brazen attack on my person.  Hiring smazza immediately.

It's in your double secret criteria, which actually isn't very secret. As has just been pointed out, right now where we are is a stepping stone for pretty much any coach worth anything out there..... except one, which again, I don't have a problem with.

"right now where we are is a stepping stone"

So I should celebrate we're a stepping stone school?  Ok.  I'll try.  It's like celebrating the AAC, though.
