  1. We gave up 171 yards on the ground to a one dimensional team. I thought the defense sucked today all things considered They had 38 rushing attempts and have a pretty good OL. Our defense played fine. Good enough to win. Like I said, we are very young at key positions and lack a lot of experience and depth on defense. It will take the entire season for them to really start clicking and improve a lot. Outside of QB, Oline might be MSU's biggest issue. They returned all five starters from last year and their OL is the most experienced position on offense. False. LT - Redshirt Soph who should be an OG but is playing OT due to injuries and such. LG - RS Sr C - RS Jr who broke his leg in the first conference game of last year. This was his 2nd game back from injury RG - RS Sr who played LT the last two years RT - RS Fr in his second game ever. Sometimes we replaced him with a senior JUCO transfer who had a season-ending foot injury vs. ND last year. I have no idea where you managed to pull that tidbit of info from. http://www.nationalchamps.net/2013/earlybird/teams/michiganstate.htm This preview shows 4 starters returning + 1 starter who is returning from injury. Way outdated. FB Thomas moved to DT (long-term position) and is injured. RT Burkland retired from football due to injury. C Jack Allen did not play today and is also injured. He played C last year when Jackson broke his leg. LT France was moved to RG (never played that before). TE Lang is like 3rd string, don't think he played today. RB Hill is like the 3rd string tailback but did a good job today.

  3. I don't want to be a downer...and I do think the USF defense was pretty decent...but our offense is garbage. You won't see another even close to being as bad the rest of the year. I'm not kidding.
  4. As an MSU fan, i'm just gonna change my answers to MSU players/yards. 1) MSU 2) 31-9 (at least one defensive score) 3) Langford 4) Burbridge 5) 300
  5. Stadium seating is 75,005. Somebody should buy those other 4 tickets. It's "officially" 75k but generally like 78k. I'd expect something around 72k for this game.
  6. Hoping for a fun and injury-free game. Go Green!
  7. If MSU scores 24 points, 21 of them will be from the defense. You mean ur defense can't kick a field goal? Weak If our coaching staff pulled their head out of their ass and just had the defense on the field for the entire game, they would.
  8. If MSU scores 24 points, 21 of them will be from the defense. You obviously didn't see our game. An FCS team hung half a hundred on us. You obviously didn't see our offense. And because I don't want to vomit, i'm not going to recap it.
  9. They certainly were quick to throw us to ESPNU because let's face it, nobody wants to watch this event.
  10. Start drinking early gentlemen. I am signficantly less interested now in what seems to be setting up to be an abortion of a sporting event.
  11. Probably one of the parking structures on Grand River. Parking prices are gonna be really high no matter where you are really. One of the downfalls of EL.
  12. If you're in EL it shouldn't be a problem. I've never heard of any issues people have had with vandalism at MSU. Lansing is kind of shadier so if you venture that way then obviously be somewhat careful of where you park. I wouldn't say it's been hyped up to crazy proportions. Last year we had some issues with somewhat empty stadiums. You could probably get away with scalping but you never know. It's a pretty early game so if we blow out WMU then people might scoop those up fast.
  13. Just fyi if you wanted to get an idea of our size tendencies and experience at different positions. Andrew Maxwell will be the starting QB, Connor Cook will play. Other 2 in the mix as well. http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/msu/sports/m-footbl/auto_pdf/2013-14/misc_non_event/WMUDepthChart.pdf
  14. Just walk around north campus (everything north of the Red Cedar River, which runs through the middle of campus. MSU has a beautiful lush green campus, a mix of some modern buildings and some old architecture. You'll probably want to take some pictures of Beaumont Tower and some of the older buildings around there. There's a garden just south of it as well which is nice. Unfortunately there might be a bit of construction on the roads around there. There's nothing like a football saturday in the fall at MSU. The campus is pretty big and spread out but in an hour you can easily check out all of the north campus. Of course, don't forget to take some pictures of the Sparty statue (close to the stadium). Around there is also MSU's famed basketball arenas: the Breslin Center (current) and Jenison Fieldhouse.
  15. The QB position is officially a clusterf**k. I'm just gonna stick with saying that we have a good defense. Offense will work itself out eventually.
  16. Michigan has a ton to do outdoors. As mentioned above, Mackinac is great. Check this list out for some other good options that fit your travel schedule: http://www.michigan.org/
  17. I'd be surprised if Maxwell doesn't start. Cook will probably get a couple of series too.
  18. Peanut Barrel is great. If you get the chance, try Crunchy's too. Lot of craft beers on tap and the microbrews here in Michigan are fantastic. Bell's Two Hearted Ale is a great one.
  19. Nice. MSU recruited Robbins pretty heavily, he's got a lot of talent. Would be nice to see him on the field in week 2.
  20. There's not really a ton of "must-eat" placed unfortunately. Pizza House is always a good option, otherwise some of the bar/restaurants on Grand River like the Peanut Barrell are good. Nice to sit on the patio with a few drinks and get some food. Woody's mediterranean grill is pretty good. If you're looking for some drunk food that's a different story then. In that case I would recommend Menna's or Conrads, both serve grilled wraps bursting with whatever you want in them.
