  1. Again, reality check...A good, young coordinator from a top program will have offers from "super models" so why would they jump into bed with the skinny, knock-kneed girl with braces and acne? And no, there are not plenty of them out there. Very few coordinators can make the transition to HC successfully. HC is a whole different job requiring completely different skill sets. Just because a coach is good with Xs and Os does not mean they will be a good HC. If Arkansas State can get Gus Malzahn to make the jump, then USF can certainly find a successful coordinator to make the jump. Gus is currently 5-3 at ASU and has yet to prove himself successful, but he played at Arkansas, coached high school in Arkansas, coached college in Arkansas, so he may make the jump yet. Maybe USF should hire a Florida guy...oh, wait...

I get it. you don't like USF. there are plenty of coordinators at top 10 programs both offensive and defensive that would jump at this job. I get HC is different. didn't seem to hurt muschamp or mullen or strong or... from making the transition. Doug Marrone...Derek Dooley...Kevin Wilson...DeWayne Walker...Danny Hope...Ron Prince...Norm Chow...Jeff Quinn...Joker Phillips...Frank Spaziani...Carl Pelini...John Embree...Dan Enos...David Bailiff...

Reality check, we're screwed ....nobody will want to coach here, we should just see if there is any good high school coach available that would want to come here You joke, but...

  5. Your plan has no basis in reality... You can't tell Holtz to fire Cosh now and then fire him in another month. If an AD does anything before the season is over he would fire the HC and appoint an interim HC. That's not really a good idea, though, because all the remaining coaches as well as the interim HC know it's just a matter of time before the ax falls on them, too. As a result there is no burning incentive to win the remaining games or recruit because they will be more focused on brushing up their resumes and making phone calls looking for new jobs. And you won't want them recruiting anyway. The season is now lost, so you might as well wait to the end and cut everyone loose except for maybe the recruiting coordinator. Larry Coker will not give up his job as a HC to work as an OC. No coach worth their salt would do that. If he makes a job change it will be for another head coaching job at a real football school in a real football conference. He might settle as HC for USF, though. You are also delusional if you think all the coaches on your wish list would jump at the chance to run to USF if you waived a few dollars at them. They'll most likely be getting job offers from better and more established football programs at the end of the season. Using your logic, all I'd have to do to date a super model is flash some cash and she would come running to my fat ass overlooking my balding head. Believe it or not, guys like Derek Jeter or Mathew McConaughey have more money than I do and they are better looking and sexier.
  6. jjlovecub has it correct...The game cannot end on a defensive penalty, so it could be possible to kick a field goal after time has expired. Yes, it would be a highly unlikely and very wild finish, but entirely possible.
  7. slick...I'm still waiting for you to 'splain to me how Skip is so weak he can't stand up to a handful of college students. You are a waste of bandwidth. C'mon, slick... It was your dumbass statement so please tell us how it's all the seniors fault and how Skip is too weak to stand up to them. Or did you let your keyboard overload your ass...again? Do you watch football? Have you seen when a team has a veteran QB that can't get the job done? Their back ups aren't developed and they are stuck with that? Doesn't matter who the coach is, that position needs a replacement. I mean, come on, are you that clueless? Uh...So why hasn't Skip benched him? Hmmmm? O-kay...So whose fault is it there are no backups? Hmmm? . Well that goes back to when Holtz arrived and was shocked at the lack of talent at key positions. He had to scramble and move players to new positions. I am surprised he won as many games as he did on arrival. It takes time to recruit a team that fits a coach's scheme. He still has a lot of Leavitt's recruits at key positions, there are no trades or free agency in college football. ^^ Total BS

  9. This right here makes you lose all credibility. You hate Leavitt. You won't give him credit for his coaching ability. His do you explain the development of George Selvie, Nate Allen, Mistral Raymond, Ben Moffitt, and many others? Could you do THAT from the internet at home? Its OK to hate him, its OK to love Skip, but, give credit where its due or at least keep your fingers off the key board. Statements like the above make it obvious that you're ignorant. (Yes, I can read, I know the quote is talking about the niners and youre not directly talking about his job here, but, the clear implication is that you think he has no ability as a coach and you're dead wrong) And yes, I know he's not coming back, but, we don't have to settle for Skip either. Taaa Daaaa

Difference being that the Leavitt website was up over a year before the Miller incident. Not to mention those that want to fire Holtz are too cheap to put up a website. ^^^ Joe Biden of thebullspen.

  15. Yes! CJH knows how to surround himself with great coaches. He also has a very low opinion of Woolard and USF so I don't think there's a snowball's chance in Hell he'd end his career by taking a giant leap down to the South Florida Graveyard. Okay now. While I laughed out loud, you are out of control. I would not go that far. Uh...I'm sorry to tell you it's the God's honest truth.
  16. Maybe not as much money as Skip, but this is a bit of revisionist history. Jim liked to hire "his" guys, not necessarily the most talented coordinators. Holtz has the same issue, and maybe this is just something endemic in coaching. Jim was a bit too loyal to coordinators that didn't show a penchant for adapting their gameplans. I loved what Jim did at USF, but I think his inability to adapt his gameplans in Big East play was more of his downfall, than the lack of money to hire coordinators. Actually at the end Leavitt was hiring guys he was less familiar with, in McGeoghan, Tresey and Blackwell (LB). His bigger issue was he was relentless about USF football, he drove his assistants the same way and a lot of coaches figured if they had to work like that there were other places to do that and get paid better. It's a relatively small community so guys like to hire those who they are familiar with, or who someone can vouch for but the flip side is that guys know who is tough to work for or with. BTW, that is not a criticism of Leavitt because absent that personality our program would have run differently (probably not better) during his tenure. McGeoghan was the best of those hires too, Sanjay. I recall that he had to hire Tresey because Burnham, rather unexpectedly, took the D coordinator position at ISU. I can't seem to recall who Blackwell replaced on Jim's staff. Leavitt loved McCarney, but the day he walked into Leavitt's office to tell him UF had offered him $300,000 all Jim could do was stick his hand out and say, "Thanks and good luck," because there was no way he could match it.

  18. Really? Why would an up and coming coach choose USF over opportunities at real football schools in real football conferences?
  19. Just so we're all clear about Pete. He is basically just a non-Bull troll trying to stir **** up, get under the skin of most Bulls fans because of the injustice he feels befell CJL at the hands of USF ... Try not to take him too seriously.<Memo to self> Truth hurts doesn't it, Trip?
  20. But...but...but...Three years ago it was all so clear to you. Get rid of Leavitt and things would be so much better. The Bulls would win Big East Championships if Leavitt was gone. Now, rather than admit your were wrong, you are reduced to BLAMING THE SENIORS! Truly pathetic. And I was for getting rid of Leavitt before he acted like a bitchh and slapped a player. He couldn't do the job. I also enjoy all of the college teams that are clammoring for Leavitt's coaching abilities at the college level...errr................ Leavitt is an assistant coach of one the the NFL's best defense and linebacking corps... Patrick Willis has been quoted a few times about how much he likes Coach Leavitt. Patrick Willis is a beast of a linebacker so I will take his opinion over yours.... Again, you twist what is said. I say he isn't in college. You talk about how great he is for an NFL team. And about Patrick Willis....He was a beast at Ole Miss which is why he was a 1st round pick, before Leavitt got there. He was a stud in the league, before Leavitt got there. This is like saying that Tom Brady is great because Josh McDaniels coaches him....this season. Brady was great before McDaniels. So tell us about Aldon Smith? He was the surprise pick in the 2011 NFL Draft coming out after his sophmore year. I wonder who was behind that pick and where on earth the 49ers found such a phenom? http://www.49ers.com/news/article-2/Aldon-Smith-Uses-Length-to-His-Advantage/c5428ef0-d87c-4a7f-8cc6-e74893c0a123
  21. Maybe it's too early to tell but there's no doubt the mess Woolard has created gives established head coaches pause to even consider the USF job. Time to invest in one of these and save some money... http://www.internationalrevolvingdoors.com/

Now, rather than admit your were wrong, you are reduced to BLAMING THE SENIORS! Truly pathetic. Leavitt sucked. He couldn't do the job after how many years? At least Holtz isn't a pusssy that hits his players. I'd rather support a moral man than a bitchassman like Leavitt. LOL! Keep going, Bouncy! Keep digging your hole! You had near zero credibility on this board and now you're on a mission to make an even bigger fool of yourself.

How far would I have to drive to collect?
