    ND

And of course, UF, FSU, Miami

All teams we could have a shot at in 2026 - and if we did win, people will talk about it. Beating a team like Maryland or Wake or Vandy would be great for us, but I don't think people will care as much. Same with a school like Louisville. They've been incredibly good but people don't really talk about Louisville football. Hell, they made the CCG last season and all people talked about was FSU. If USF beat a brand name school with consistently decent results (even sniffing the CCG even once every decade), people will talk about it. At this point - I'd only want to play c if it were in the playoff. When we move conferences, a yearly OOC rivalry game would be great.

I love it, I was going to say the same thing about brand name teams. I would go Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Clemson, Ok State, LSU, Texas, Oregon and Colorado. The FSU, UF and Miami is more regional, I’d much rather go national at this point.

Bucs/Lions @3:00, Bolts/Red Wings @5:00. I think those venues are pretty close together so wonder if Lightning get pushed back to later start time. Would have been a helluva road trip.

What are the odds!?! haha. They are literally 2 blocks apart, usually can share parking spots. If anyone is coming up, let me know; I know a few good spots around here.

Bucs 32 and Eagles 9.  Next up is Detroit.  Let's go!

Congrats on turning the season around…….. and I am looking forward to my Lions actually getting to the NFC Championship game for the second time in my life!! Honestly, our defense scares me, so I don’t take anything for granted (we can beat anyone and we can lose to anyone, ie Chicago). It’s gonna be an awesome/tough game, you guys are a totally different team than the last time we played and I think you can throw out the week 5 result. As my son said last night, “well, at least either the Lions or Bucs will get to the NFC Championship”. Good luck on Sunday guys, it’s gonna be a fun one!!

If that happens (don't believe it will) then who would go to the ACC?  The ACC should add PAC2, USF, Tulane, Uconn and one more to get back to 15.

Depending on what he thinks happens to Miami, GT, I would prefer a conference like this for sure:

    Miami

    Boston College

    Syracuse

    Wake Forest

    Georgia Tech

    Stanford?

    Cal?

    SMU?

    South Florida

    East Carolina

    UCONN

    Memphis

    Navy

    Tulane

    Temple

Either way, if the ACC loses 8 teams, the leftovers can still form a good conference.

One of the things that Central always had going for it was a lack of professional football in the area. They are Orlando's only option. USF has to split fandom with the Bucs. A lot of people don't care to follow multiple teams. IMO, if Orlando had an NFL team, Central Florida wouldn't have leap frogged us.

Very true, that’s why Alabama, Auburn and LSU (Baton Rouge) are so big, they have no pro sports teams at all.

I’m a little conflicted on this. My mind says 100% you have to value your team and not set that example of letting him return. But my heart says let the teammates decide. Let this be the one time they have an example of “the grass isn’t always greener.” Use that as the one time example of allowing the prodigal son to return and use as a case study to others that are pondering leaving. He was a great teammate up until his departure. Unlike others that checked out early and it was obvious. I miss the quickness he provided when hitting the hole.

I agree with everything you said. I support CAG for his decision and maybe he did ask the team. Also, maybe if the team sees he wants to come back and was not allowed, it sends the same message. I think over time, the portal will show that the grass isn’t always greener, hopefully Mr. Brown takes note of this and stays his whole time with us.

You're weak! We dont want quitters. He wouldn't make the needle move much for the offense compared to our current RBs.

Haha, it takes a stronger person to forgive. The way I would approach it is, IF Battie reached out and wanted to come back; address the team about it. CAG has done a masterful job year one, the team bought in and were rewarded. If the team says no, then don’t extend an offer; if the team says “I love this dude, bring him back!” Then do it. I personally wouldn’t bring him back, but if he was a great teammate and the team wants him back, then it won’t hurt the culture at all.

Stanfords acadmics rival the ivy's and they arguably have the best athletic program in the country:

"Stanford has won 134 NCAA team national championships, the most of any Division 1 school in the NCAA. Stanford has won these NCAA team championships in 20 different sports."

They really deserve better.  I am suprised the B10 did not scoop them up along with Cal.

You are absolutely right, BUT, Stanford, California does not offer the market/money that L.A. or Seattle does. The fan base in Oregon is exponentially larger than Stanfords, they just didn’t make business sense for the B10.

CAG seems like a humble guy and i imagine he will apologize. At the end of the day, it's not a good look. Did FAU or UAB coach make a similar comment? Legit question as i havr no idea.

Syracuse will remember that for the next time we play. Although, a 45-0 ass wooping might help them remember as well.

Ahh **** it, just tell VPMK "but we wooped that ass, what else should i say?"

Absolutely!! When it comes to football, it’s a sport of raw emotions. CAG brings a swagger to our team that oozes confidence yet not cockiness; it’s a great balance that is great for our players and program.

What gets us into a better conference is one single thing: the ability for TV to make money off of our fanbase.

Things like winning, ocs, game attendance, away game fan presence, etc all help in proving that there is ROI for any networks that want to advertise to our fans.

Spot on, it’s all about how many people are interested and watching your program (advertising = money/value). Everything you mentioned is all part of the equation. Therefore, to answer the question of whether it’s enough, for right now it is, because we currently do not have one, haha. The fact it will be expandable is a key feature and if there is any movement in expansion, they can build that into it as a modification during the build process (if it happens in the next year or two, but I’m not planning on it).

  11. Look, my personal opinion; schools shouldn’t be able to pay players (or NIL, football is supposed to be an extracurricular activity), the players should be able to transfer when they want (they are free individuals). Schools shouldn’t be spending hundreds of millions on athletics facilities when they are a public funded university. All of that money should be used on academics and any extra should be paid back to the people of the state that help fund them. I absolutely love sports and competition; but we’ve lost cabin pressure and reality with college sports. All of the NIL, conference expansion, facilities war, it’s out of control. Ok, I’ll get off my soap box, haha.

That's really what it all boils down to, bottom line. College football is meant to be played on college campuses and it's great that it's finally able to be done here ...... it may or may not help with expansion and there's no logical rationale that it has any bearing on winning/losing. Those are 2 other separate issues.

100%!! College football is supposed to be played on campus, in front of students and alumni!! @puc86 and @CousinRicky, you two are spot on when you look at it from the business side (and believe me, I know college football is a business). That said, the proper way to live life, is being in the moment, TRY and plan for the future while only look in the past to learn from mistakes and to remember where you were (as a bench mark on your own personal progress). This stadium is good for the current team, students and alumni, we honestly cannot predict where college football will be or where we will be playing, so right now they are building a 35k stadium for n campus with the ability to expand in the future. It seems to me that they learned from the past, building for the present and planned on a possible future. I love it and I think it is the right path. We don’t know what NIL I’ll look like so as long as we are competitive with our fellow conference opponents, we will be just fine.

Except students have no problem making it to Ray Jay, far greater make it to the stadium to tailgate than make it inside and none have an issue getting there for Taylor Swift, the issue is that no one wants to go into the games. Moving locations solves that problem for one year (as people like to check out new things) but after that we need to solve for what people actually have a problem with and that is AAC football. If we don't have a solution for that committing to 40 years of this nonsense doesn't seem like the best idea and the games can easily be handled at Corbett. Did the Sundome move when we remodeled and rebranded because it used to get way more student attendance and yet for some reason it doesn't .

All of your points are valid. It really depends on how you look at it. From an expansion point of view having an OCS is a plus. We all know that winning is king; so my answer for the OP is, more attractive.

As for an OCS, I’ll keep it brief. Nearly all G5 schools have an OCS, depending on how good the team is, is how good the attendance is. Regardless of conference affiliation, we will have a football team. To that point, from a team, school, student and alumni experience, an OCS is better, so build it; plain a simple. The stadium will be paid off so let’s not cry about the “last strike”, we will have a football team regardless, so give them a real home and our current students and alumni a reason to come back.

You solve for the issues of no one wanting to go to the games, the proper solution isn’t to spend millions to make the problem look marginally less bad.

I don’t think the point was “looks less bad”. The way I have always looked at it is that with a bad football team, less students will travel to Ray Jay as opposed to walking across campus. The more the students go to games, typically, the more loyal they will be. Getting alumni back to campus and having family with them will create new Bulls fans that can fall in love with the campus and schools after spending time there, rather than a parking lot waiting to going into the Buccaneers stadium. It’s a better “college football” environment that has a better experience for new and old students. So, yes, spending millions on a project that can help being more people in campus is worth it!! My opinion of course.
