  1. The USF Bulls' passing offense is really developing. I hope to see it reach its full potential, and further define South Florida's football brand.
  2. From what I can gather, he apparently has been going back and forth with Miss St and USF as his leader. Hopefully, we end up on top with him. South Florida and MIssissippi State are probably comparable in current football strength, at least while disregarding some of USF's road games being in cold weather. But, as USF is in a better location, has more potential, and can be more competitive in its conference, I think it should be more desirable.
  3. Doesn't surprise me. As a current student at USF I can tell you most kids that go to USF are from the Orlando area and I bet many UCF students are from Tampa (At least the ones that don't value their education). You could probably write the same thing about USF outrecruiting UCF in Orlando; kids wanna stay close to home, but not THAT close to home. I agree with this analysis. The motive to be close to home, but not 'too close,' comprises a plausible theory for this occurrence. Some college students probably like to have visits with the family and have help when necessary, but not close enough where they can more easily be controlled or randomly visited. 1:30-3 hours driving distance is perfect for those with this motive.
  4. And I think that was largely caused by injuries.
  5. The difference is USF did not cover up for Sandusky and allow him to abuse children.
  6. Correction: I thought at least Spanier was still employed due to tenure, but I am open minded to your claim he is not.
  7. yeah screw those college students that had absolutely nothing to do with what happened or the fact it was covered up!!! hell they were close to 10 years old when it happened at psu. let's punish them severely to teach them a lesson to never let it happen again!! There are penalties against the whole team and associated fans during games, and for recruiting violations. This is really no different. If it's so necessary those students attend a school with a national championship contender in football, they can always transfer. so you wouldn't have a problem if you were a current USF student and something happened 10 years ago that got us a 4 year ban, 40 scholarship losses, $60M fine, allowed players to transfer, etc? that's what happened to them. sure just transfer...... As much as I love football, the university's responsibilities to the community and state are more important. Winning games is not worth the sexual abuse of children. As much as I would hate such a penalty, it would be the least of my worries, while USF's administrators were hypothetically covering for-if not aiding and abetting-a pedophile and his disgusting behavior. you didn't answer the question. what if the ncaa came in and said sammy al arian was a terrorist and USF and it's administration knew it and covered it up. say this all happened 15 years ago and everyone involved were fired and prosecuted. you would be fine if they gave us the same punishment? I did answer your question. I would not waste my time whining about such sanctions, if my USF did what Penn State did. I actually find it tragic so many Penn State fans and supporters are apparently spending more time trying to get their penalties repealed than firing the guilty administrators.
  8. Since I cannot directly edit my post, I meant 'the' instead of "TE." It was a mobile phone auto-correct typo.
  9. I think our defense is slightly stronger. Despite injuries, it has contained powerful offenses better than expected while TE offense has developed a reputation for struggling to move the ball up the field and scoring during some games. But, particularly with our new receiving threats and Asiantii Woulard, I expect our offense to strongly improve in the next 4-5 years.

  11. Agreed, but most sanctions are due to cheating and trying to gain a competitive advantage. The FB team did not benefit from this scandal. the victims were negatively impacted by the scandal. I would have liked to see some of there input in this. I am curious to see how many of them wanted the program to be reprimanded for this. As if they should like a football program that allowed them to get sexually abused?

  14. I wonder how many sources are pulling Greg Swaim's leg.
  15. I think at least Pitt, Rutgers, and probably even UConn would be pursued by the Big 10, before FSU. Georgia Tech and several Mid-Atlantic ACC schools would also be better additions.
  16. I think injuries and playing northern games after September might be factors in USF's in-conference struggling. The Buccaneers lost every game below 40 degrees until their Super Bowl year.
  17. All right! Great job, Asiantti! It's great to see the USF community is represented. I hope I can watch ESPN's presentation of the Elite 11 this August (I presume 7th and 14th).
  18. I agree. This is the first year out of conference signature wins feel trivial compared to winning the conference, for me.
  19. Apparently the Miami Hearld is willing to support the hometown Hurricanes. I wonder if he was looking to throw dirt on USF, to weaken a competitor for the University of Miami. If so, I think it could be an indication of a developing rivalry-albeit probably ended by Miami next year-between the University of South Florida and the University of Miami.
  20. First he accuses USF of cheating, warning us of his investigation. With the tweet deleted, is the investigation over, and USF safe? Or did he just cowardly back out on twitter, while still looking for dirt to throw on USF? If the latter, than he is apparently an FSU fan speaking for a Miami paper seeming to wish us ill, as we threaten the "Big 3" monopoly on the state.
  21. I think USF has more potential and can be more competitive than Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt is obviously not an elite SEC team, but USF probably has the talent to win the Big East. Academically, Vandy is the ONLY elite SEC school I was referring to football. But as you brought up academics, UF is also very prestigious. Even your avatar snorted at that one. LOL! At least by SEC standards, their academics are decent. It could mean they are great or their conference is bad, but their academics are probably second or third best in the SEC. I do remember them recently cutting their computer science program, while increasing the investment in the athletic department. I think they should focus more on academics, and their leaders/representatives (i.e. JD Alexander, etc.) should be more open toward allying with USF.
