So, you know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy?  I'm kidding.  My best contact left.

I just talk my way into things anytime I come back to Tampa. I literally don't know how but I managed to meet a lot of people connected with the program at some point in time.  Just strange luck and once you meet me, it's kind of hard to forget me (for the better or worse).

Sorry...that's what I mean. Cause we arent going to shut them down running the ball completely.

I prefer them stopping this running system  over say a option like GT ran last year.

i agree... Georgia Tech was a different animal. They had a big line and a lot of athletes running that triple option, speed option, etc... I think it's easier to prepare for a more conventional running offense.

I will say this, when Cali is high he is over the top to the moon euphoric and when he is down he will wish death upon you.  I just hope if I ever meet him it is on one of his good days.  I do like the optimism even if it is unwarranted and borderline ridiculous and I feel we are going to be really good as well.

Super nice guy... actually pretty calm. Most of my friends know me as a jokester.

I was going to say that. We haven't really distributed the ball around on offense these past few years. So even if they watch Val St games, they have no clue as to what our offensive players besides Barnett, Ford, Cronkrite, Wilcox and St. Felix can do. We have so many other weapons, that even when our starters get taken out we will finally still be able to score points.

I honestly think McDoom and Ford will present matchup nightmares for them.  They'll either have to zone or get eaten up by the slots... or some type of man or safety help which mean St. Felix one on one outside and Mitch working the center of the field. I'm just starting to realize what matchup problems we present because we do have so many playmakers.  The closer to this game we get the more I like our chances.

Sounds like Ellis is a real upgrade over Blue.  Doesn’t seem like the kind of guy that will be fighting with his players on the sideline.

Looks like Zion Roland is now a DB.  Interesting....

I had completely forgotten about that.  Definitely one of the lower points last season... but there were many.

He played some DB in high school.  He seems to have caught on, he had a int.  I was surprised too though, but it makes sense.  Kid is an tremendous athlete.

I like the way that sounds, but every good offense does that (or should do that). I agree that we'll have some surprises based on our players, but I have to imagine KB has some plays that are his go-to calls that won't be a total mystery.

Oh, I totally agree... but all we need is just enough to keep them off balance. The thing I like about Bell is he uses plays to set up other plays.   You cheat once time and he'll burn you.  I think we're about to be in for a show.

You don't think they'll do exactly that?

It wont really help.  We have different personnel and strengths... Bell adjust his offense according to where his playmakers are.  He even said the offense warps and changes from year to year according to where his best guys are.  He also changes it every week according to the defense.  I mean he knows they'll look at that tape, but it may not be of any use.

  8. 10 td's also include situational football etc...  they ran over 100 plays against an offense that knows the defense and a defense that knows the offense.  Steel sharpens steel... I think we have a squad.  I also feel the defense benefited greatly going against Bells offense.  I don't think you'll beat us just running... you'll have to pass and with a Freshman Qb our defense could make some plays.

We have (4) 300Ib DTs this year in Kegler, Pickney, Waller and Armon Williams. (1) 290 Ib DT in Blake Green. We have (2) 270+ Ib DTs in Barber and Yates, whom both played well at that weight. I think we have size for the middle now. Our DEs are averaging around 250Ibs. I expect our Dline as a whole 2 be much tougher and better. Wisconsin will be a great test. It still sucks we didnt get a warm up game b4 playing Wisconsin, but glass half full, what a great 1st victory it shall be. I also think having such a hard 1st game brough a sense of urgency to this offseason conditioning and camps.

Charlie and the guys had this game circled.  They knew it would be the test of the team... on the good party, it's their first game too.  They have a lot of new starters... so I'm not really so worried about experience.  I'm sure that BJM will have the defense ready.  One thing also... unless they pull film on Val. St., they have no tape of our offense and we have an attacking OC with a lot of weapons.  I think our team speed will be big in this game. On defense and offense.

And I think these two fill the bill. Sawtelle and Macon. Besides these two, it's a very young group overall.

I agree with you both. The closer it gets to the game and the more I find out about both teams, the more I like our chances.

  11. Yup... it will take more than 3... but I feel like the secondary will be straight no matter what... so if we get guys good playing in the middle and the LBs are strong... we can do some things.  This defense is light and day from last season.  We got better and deeper.  The transfer portal has allowed us to build what could be a really good defense.  I think we have enough quality talent to elevate the play of the entire team.  I think we'll do better than some expect... a lot better.

  12. Everyone Know's I've been high on Waller...  I still think he'll be one of the best DT's we've ever had.  Also think his size will come in handy...  But I don't think you can find any particular 3... this will have to be a team effort.  Thank god we are so deep this season, I don't expect to see us wear down like we did last season.  Especially with a full compliment of DLinemen and LBs.. We're deep this season, huge difference from last.

That said, I'll have to list 6 players because we'll need to look at the 2 deep.

Kegler, Livingstone, Slade, Macon, Sawtelle, Boyles, and Pickney

If these guys play good, we'll be straight.
