  1. I think our fan base tend to give too much credit to the P5 label without actually looking at the team.  I remember everyone saying Georgia tech was going to crush us.  That didn't happen and we actually got better while they changed their entire coaching staff and system... and those are the people who think they'll beat us this year.  Even though they actually haven't gotten better and are in a transition into a entirely new system.  Yeah... ok

  2. Honestly... if the frehsman wins the job and starts... Im not saying we're going to win, but if we do, I think by seasons end they could be a 7-5 team and the win just doesn't seem that big then.  They're ranked 17 based on reputation... I think this is a rebuilding year for them coming off a bad season by their standards.

lots of new first time starters

Notre Dame in 2011 on the road was more impressive, but agree with the rest, this team had glaring holes last year and was weak up front on both sides of the ball.  I think and hope it it is fixed as well, they will surprise some teams this year.

they were barely over .500 team that year.  Seemed like a big deal at the start of the season... by the end, it was just a win.

  4. Strong said the team wasn't very good last year.  I mean we have had a pretty good schedule for a minute if you want be honest.  We haven't beaten a quality team since Clemson in 2010 and they were a .500 team. Everyone got mad at Strong and said he was throwing players under the bus by stating the obvious... we weren't big enough, strong enough, nor were we fast enough.  Flowers hid a lot of problems this team has had going back to the 8-5 season.  Now we have an actual coach who is trying to fix it.  I think it's fixed...

I love the enthusiasm and confidence.....but c'mon guys pump the brakes a bit on "we are going to beat down the badgers" talk.

This is still one of the better programs in the Big Ten, they are big and physical and tough.  The type of team that we have traditionally had trouble with.  I do like the fact that we are getting them right out of the gate, and if they take us lightly and are not prepared, then yes we have a decent chance to win.  But I certainly don't see this as being an easy game at all.

I don't think anybody said it will be an easy game.  Until you just mentioned it.

At least you have a plan. The best part of every new season is the dreaming. It’s kind of like when you buy that lottery ticket every once and a while so you can talk about all the fun ways you can blow it as fast as possible, the couple of dollars wasted  is marginally fun because for a few minutes you get to dream. I am hardly as positive as you but I never understand the enjoyment people get about imagining losses before they happen, if we lose there is plenty of time for the complaining and second guessing but is the satisfaction of being right that enjoyable that it’s worth being mad about losses weeks and months before they even happen? When is the time you get to enjoy being a fan if you are always waiting for that loss you find inevitable?

Not so much as a plan as a shocked reaction.  I feel good this season though... a little better than normal.

Never in hoops or football, a measly sunbelt tourney in baskets in 1990.  It is kind of amazing there are this many die hards still following our team, will someone please throw us a bone?

If we break through, I think we'll see attendance go up again.  I mean for a minute we had students graduate who'd never seen a winning team, that's big when you're building a fan base, which we've always struggled with.  I legitimately think this years team is an animal we haven't seen.  I think they're going to get rolling early...  I can't wait for kickoff.

I think our fortunes are about to change.

I predict we will win a conference championship in multiple sports.

Best thing ever is we get them out of the gate, we know what they are about, none of us knows what we are about.  I do not remember ever having this much talent coupled with an OC that knows how to spread the field.  CWT was close however this year will be special.  We got some studs on defense in a hurry, only someone with CCS connections would have pulled this off. This was the best off season in the history of the program, excited to see it all come to fruition.

I agree.  We are loaded from top to bottom and positions that were a weakness for us last season are poised to become strengths.  I think it's big we get them out of the gate, we'll be up for this game and like you said... we got some studs.

The Big East. That's what we lost as a fan base. We lost relevancy.

If you're honest aside from Basketball the Big East really wasn't that relevant.  All I'd hear were announcers trashing the conference.  Maybe having a Bowl bid... but actual relevancy... nah not in football. That left with Miami, Virginia Tech, and yes... Boston College.

I was told by a player today that Macon is the real deal and is huge.

Yeah... National Junior College player of the year. I hate that guys get hurt, but I'm not upset he broke his foot last season and was unable to participate.  We got the type of LB we've always wanted.  I think this guy is going to be a tackling machine.  I would not be shocked if it''s him and Sawtelle to starting.

  11. Seems like the injury bug is hitting Wisconsin

Yep...good clips of him In action.

I love how he plays...im really amped to see this defense in action.  I think the biggest question is the middle of the defensive line.

I think he's going to have a big game and season.
