Yes, Woodie is in over his head. The D Line is also atrocious. Those front 4 need to be recruited and developed hard going forward.

Answer this honestly, do you think the front 4 was the issue today? We were slanting strong side with 6 in the box. They ate us up using misdirection getting flow of Lb  going one way and making the nickel back try and make a play on Cook. We didn't put guys in position to make plays at all.

It's negative because we don't freaking know yet what the attendance is going to end up .... and we are a long ways off before we won't need to rely on opposing teams' fans to sell out the stadium.

My original quote said if there's 45-50K actual that's embarrassing. And USF fans wanting to sell out their own stadium shouldn't be viewed as negativity when it's a realistic concern.

I never expected this to be a sellout.  Blame Collin for getting everybodies hopes up.  Its noon and really neither team is quite worthy of top 20 billing.  Fsu still has just an ok offensive line and just got taken to the woodshed.  The Bulls are explosive but unproven largely.  Casual fans don't know what think of either team right now.

I guess this is where my disappointment stems from. I just wish we didn't need to rely on other teams fans to sell out

Bug, but, It's the USF fans fault!!!!!!!

You are not using any context.

    1. It's on Twitter than through FSU Box office tickets are $93. Stubhub price $45. Why would they buy through their box office?

    2. Not factoring in Tampa natives bought tickets through USF beforehand. Whether season, flex pass or single tickets.

You're kidding yourself if you think there will be less than 10K from Tallanasty. And to clarify, this is also on the students. How have the student tickets not sold out? 40K + students and only 11K have been allocated for? Here's to hoping there will be 55K USF fans in the seats

One guy complained about the price of tickets but, you've made several assumptions about the Bulls and the fans already. All with a negative slant. Why not blame FSU for sucking and ruining our chances of a top 10 ranking?????

I'm not going to argue with you and your confirmation bias that I'm a FSU fan. If anything, I'm pissed because I was optimistic WE could put 45-50K in the seats. Where is my negative slant when I'm hoping we don't need to rely on their fans to sell out OUR stadium?

Dude, it's the FSU fan whom are dumping the tickets. I'm guessing you're a closet FSU fan.

If FSU fans are dumping tickets, then USF fans should be right there ready to purchase them. The complaint was they were too expensive right? Now they are $40. The point is if we can only put 35K usf fans in the seats for this weekend, it's embarrassing. And no I'm not a closet fsu fan, I hate those bastards. From Bowden to Bimbo. I'd just like to think there are more than 35K of us out there that would pay to come watch this team beat FSU.

Weird stat I just noticed from last year's game, QF had 12 completions...only 1 of those were caught by a wideout or tight end.  Adams, Dillon, Price and Bronson were all shut out.  Chris Barr was the only WR to catch a pass.  Also USF didn't run the jet sweep or WR screens.  Couldn't believe that when I just viewed that game.

Defensively after Auggie got kicked out our LBs were Nick Holman, CJ Garye, and a very young Danny Thomas.  BTW that Auggie targeting call was bad, appeared to be a good hit, but definitely a bad penalty taken on the late hit.  FSU went on to score 17 after he was ejected.

Yeah I noticed that when I rewatched that game. This is where I think having Rodney in the slot as well as MVS outside will help. They can't lineup their #1 corner on Rodney and focus on him. I also think the TE are going to be a big help this year. Price was reliable, but it seems as if Dillon/Wilcox have a little more big play ability. They have been open a few times this year we just haven't connected efficiently. Definitely more firepower this year

Marlon Mack has 18 caries in 3 weeks. I don't understand why everyone feels like our offense won't work this way long term. You have 2 homerun threats in the backfield in Mack and Flowers. I would absolutely love it if FSU plays their safeties deep to avoid getting beat by the deep ball. If they do that, MM and QF are going to run all over the place on them.

How do you stop the read option when both guys can kill you? I guess you bring your linebackers in, but, if they miss, it's a big gain. If they bite and it's a sweep or WR screen, they have one less defender on the edges. If we are effective moving the ball on the ground, the safeties have to come up for support and that is when QF can beat you over the top. It's the design of the offense, not just a fluke that this is generally open.

I guess if our OL absolutely gets man-handled, this offense can be stagnant, but, I don't care who you are, if your OL plays poorly, you are not going to move the ball. I just think our offense is so multi-dimensional that you really can't stop everything. Especially if QF hits some of those seam passes to Dillion or a couple of the slants like he did with Adams against Cuse.

Overall, I think we see a very heavy dose of Mack and Flowers running the ball with some WR screens and deep shots mixed in. Fully anticipate a wheel route to DJ as well.

    This.

  9. I think some people are expecting us to all of a sudden play smashmouth, 4-3 aggressive defense. Taggart isn't lying when he says repeatedly, in college football now, teams are going to get yards. It's about keeping them out of the Endzone. It's very clear our philosophy is to limit big plays (thus base nickel) and contain the QB in the pocket (mush rush by DE) while trying to move him off the spot with an interior push. The one thing I'm worried about is tackling. We have been average at best tackling thus far.

Our screens and sweeps won't work as well against FSU and I really hope that they aren't a key stone of the game plan.

I must say however we have used a very boring play book so far. I expect to see a lot of plays from the offense and defense we haven't seen before.

The thing is, when set up properly, they will. When you watch it on film, almost every screen also has a pulling guard to for the Run Pass Option. This leaves WF one on one with the Safety of they over adjust. On the jet sweep, that will set up the PA pass off of it this week. At first glance it looks like we are just out taltenting teams, but in reality, it's the scheme that's making it work.

  10. Went back and watched the Cuse game. One of his throws up the seam to Dillon was an absolute strike. Over the LB, underneath the safety and right on the numbers.

But just to keep the QB controversy going, (lol), that throw Kean made rolling out to the right on the sideline to McCants I believe.....wow. That was a dime.

A lot of things are in our favor, but when it comes down to it we don't have the defense required to beat FSU. The lack of a pass rush will keep us a few points away from winning.

Our edge rush has lacked quite a bit, yes. But our inside push is about as good as it has ever been. Awoleke had a day in Tally last season against the same OL. FSU OL is very un-FSU like. It's more about stopping Cook than anything else

  12. Auggie mentioned in the post-game that they were prepared for Syracuse to throw the ball more than they did early in the game. I think that had a lot to do with them being on their heels early in the game. FSU doesn't generally fool anyone with their game plan. They just believe  they are be better than you.

In terms of the DL, I think the inside guys have done a tremendous job this year. Senat, Awoleke, Bronson and Hector have all been getting a good push inside. Livingstone has done a **** good job as well. It's time for Vincent Jackson to step up on the opposite side and show why he was a highly coveted prospect. I expect him to the best game of his short career thus far this weekend.

    My gawd, folks, calm down.

The RPI of our first three opponents stands at 161, 104, and 94

We have proven NOTHING, and we should not be ranked.

Even beating FSU doesn't mean that much unless FSU pulls their collective heads out of their butts and finishes strong.

Our next three opponents are 8, 70, and 66

Like JTrue says, start complaining if we hit 6-0 and are still unranked

Beating FSU doesn't mean much? They are a top 15 team anyway you want to slice it
