  1. Updated Big East standings:

    Team ... W-L ... GB ... GR [Tie-Breakers]

    USF.... 10-2 ... 0.0 ... 12

    Pitt.... 9-3 ... 1.0 ... 12

    UL...... 8-4 ... 2.0 ... 12

    RU...... 8-7 ... 3.5 ... 09 [vs UConn 5/3]

    UConn... 8-7 ... 3.5 ... 09 [at Rutgers 5/3]

    SHU..... 7-5 ... 4.0 ... 12

    SJU..... 7-8 ... 4.5 ... 09

    GU...... 5-7 ... 5.0 ... 12

    ND...... 4-8 ... 5.5 ... 12

    UC...... 4-11 .. 7.5 ... 09

    VU...... 2-10 .. 8.0 ... 12

Sitting pretty on top with a 1-game lead on Pitt, who we hold the tie-breaker over, and a two game lead over the favorite Louisville. Next series is critical not because of who it is, but because of what they've done. St Johns just beat UL 2-1, so taking a series from the Johnnies will give us a tiebreaker over UL since we don't play them head-to-head.

According to WarrenNolan, our RPI is now up to #94.

Our 12 game winning streak is the 3rd longest active streak in the nation (UNC and NC State are both at 14 wins). We've also won 4 road games in a row, which is tied for 9th among active streaks. Our home win streak of 8 wins is tied for 9th as well.

Its nice to see that the guys have rallied from the low point of getting smacked around by FGCU and losing a series to Georgetown. I'm still in the "fire Prado" camp, but he's certainly making the case to put me back on the fence. I'll see how the season plays out.

    But for now...........

    BEAT FLORIDA!!!

    That's why I'm here! Compete!

  2. Adding USF and UCF to Big 12 makes perfect sense.  The two schools are in two of the fastest growing metro regions in America.  The schools have huge enrollments and fast growing alumni numbers.  Florida will be 3rd most populated state in a few years passing N.Y. and behind only Ca. and TX.  The Big 12 and TV operators want to make money  They are not interested in what schools did yesterday (FSU & Clemson)--they want schools in the conference that will contribute the most tomorrow and the next few decades.  USF and UCF fit the bill and would be a terrific fit for Big 12.

Because FSU and Clemson weren't just in BCS bowls the last two years....They aren't teams of yesterday, they're back to being good, as 09/29/2012 will attest.

  3. Didn't say there was one, I was simply asking if there was any meat to this story besides the boosters. Everyone is having a war over this potential QB that may or may not even come here.

What other scintillating topics are there to talk about right now? The chances of the basketball team getting into the tourney?
    :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Well, yes actually. I hear we just smacked down Louisville by 11 points!

I thought he was referring to the Men.

Data, if you were referencing the Ladies, I apologize.

Oh, I know he was referring to the men. I was just being facetious. That said, it is nice to have one winner to cheer for

  5. Can we think of some ways to boost season ticket sales?

Winning always helps, but beyond that there should be other ways to increase sales.

Mine: work out a package season ticket deal with the Buccaneers. For Buccaneers season ticket holders, buying USF season tickets can cost 20 percent less and we give the Buccaneers an increased percentage of ticket sales made through them. If the seats are in a donation section, we get the total donation but increase the Buccaneers percentage by 1 percent.

    Anyone else have ideas?

  6. after he signs, what actually can usf do to help him quailfy if anything, per ncaa rules

Encourage him to hit the books.

Dangle the carrot - "You can start on this team if you can get here."

Threaten him with "You know, if you don't get in here you'll have to play at Oregon".

Empty threat, Oregon doesn't use fullbacks. You have to threaten him with playing at someplace like...Akron
