Boom Boom?
Sorry, I just had to make that joke. A free soda at the first home football game (in stadium) to the one who figures out who this guy is and why he's called "Boom Boom".
-
Maybe lots of low scoring games this fall. 6 to 3 or my favorite 5 nothing.
Or the legendary Tampa 10 to 5.

Infinity engine my butt.
I play with the original Infinity Engine on Madden all the time (which is so aptly named). Apparently large receivers can't make catches in coverage and the running game will not succeed no matter how good your line is if you're only playing one position. Entire career mode is weighted against you.

Updated Big East standings:
Team ... W-L ... GB ... GR [Tie-Breakers]
USF.... 10-2 ... 0.0 ... 12
Pitt.... 9-3 ... 1.0 ... 12
UL...... 8-4 ... 2.0 ... 12
RU...... 8-7 ... 3.5 ... 09 [vs UConn 5/3]
UConn... 8-7 ... 3.5 ... 09 [at Rutgers 5/3]
SHU..... 7-5 ... 4.0 ... 12
SJU..... 7-8 ... 4.5 ... 09
GU...... 5-7 ... 5.0 ... 12
ND...... 4-8 ... 5.5 ... 12
UC...... 4-11 .. 7.5 ... 09
VU...... 2-10 .. 8.0 ... 12
Sitting pretty on top with a 1-game lead on Pitt, who we hold the tie-breaker over, and a two game lead over the favorite Louisville. Next series is critical not because of who it is, but because of what they've done. St Johns just beat UL 2-1, so taking a series from the Johnnies will give us a tiebreaker over UL since we don't play them head-to-head.
According to WarrenNolan, our RPI is now up to #94.
Our 12 game winning streak is the 3rd longest active streak in the nation (UNC and NC State are both at 14 wins). We've also won 4 road games in a row, which is tied for 9th among active streaks. Our home win streak of 8 wins is tied for 9th as well.
Its nice to see that the guys have rallied from the low point of getting smacked around by FGCU and losing a series to Georgetown. I'm still in the "fire Prado" camp, but he's certainly making the case to put me back on the fence. I'll see how the season plays out.
But for now...........
BEAT FLORIDA!!!
That's why I'm here! Compete!

The 'Noles saw that a game in Tampa is basically another home game for FSU anyways, so I don't think they'd shy away from another 1 and 1.
Sure, as long as they don't mind the money another Florida school would make from a sellout

Sterling Griffin just handed me a water bottle just for moving out of his way right by the goal post boundaries. Nice guy to let me share some of his.

It's weird seeing all new faces....
I'm loving everything I'm seeing... The offense is shifting, defense is chattering, and Lynch is a freak out here
RB's look like they are having a lot of fun
Agreed on the RBs. Qbs getting a bit better as practice goes on.

Yo Skin. Where are you sitting?

So, who came? Nice weather today.

Convince the Arena League to work with the NCAA to start a college arena football league for the dead period after recruiting? We could start it right here in talent rich Florida!

I got my email earlier today. This should be exciting.

Collins to Leday, WIDE OPEN! Beautiful play!

Suddenly wondering if a win in the BET is too much to ask for.
-
Color me surprised. Either this team's pride suddenly mattered to them, or Stan actually managed to get them motivated after ten straight losses (and finally a win).
Would love to see them carry this bit of momentum into the tournament next week in NYC.

Adding USF and UCF to Big 12 makes perfect sense. The two schools are in two of the fastest growing metro regions in America. The schools have huge enrollments and fast growing alumni numbers. Florida will be 3rd most populated state in a few years passing N.Y. and behind only Ca. and TX. The Big 12 and TV operators want to make money They are not interested in what schools did yesterday (FSU & Clemson)--they want schools in the conference that will contribute the most tomorrow and the next few decades. USF and UCF fit the bill and would be a terrific fit for Big 12.
Because FSU and Clemson weren't just in BCS bowls the last two years....They aren't teams of yesterday, they're back to being good, as 09/29/2012 will attest.

Speaking of cookies; who got their Girl Scout cookies?
It's getting real at our house one tag-a-long at a time
I picked up mine tonight.

Matt Bellamy of Muse at the concert tonight: I hear you have no water here! Those ****** squirrels!

It's not like the USF women didn't just beat their second ranked team in a row or something....oh wait.
-
Well, yes actually. I hear we just smacked down Louisville by 11 points!
:lmao: :lmao:
What other scintillating topics are there to talk about right now? The chances of the basketball team getting into the tourney?Didn't say there was one, I was simply asking if there was any meat to this story besides the boosters. Everyone is having a war over this potential QB that may or may not even come here.
:puke: :puke:
I thought he was referring to the Men.
Data, if you were referencing the Ladies, I apologize.
Oh, I know he was referring to the men. I was just being facetious. That said, it is nice to have one winner to cheer for

Can we think of some ways to boost season ticket sales?
Winning always helps, but beyond that there should be other ways to increase sales.
Mine: work out a package season ticket deal with the Buccaneers. For Buccaneers season ticket holders, buying USF season tickets can cost 20 percent less and we give the Buccaneers an increased percentage of ticket sales made through them. If the seats are in a donation section, we get the total donation but increase the Buccaneers percentage by 1 percent.
Anyone else have ideas?

after he signs, what actually can usf do to help him quailfy if anything, per ncaa rules
Encourage him to hit the books.
Dangle the carrot - "You can start on this team if you can get here."
Threaten him with "You know, if you don't get in here you'll have to play at Oregon".
Empty threat, Oregon doesn't use fullbacks. You have to threaten him with playing at someplace like...Akron

Given that we are now going to have less money it's going to be more difficult to recruit across the state. Making sure that we have good relationships in Tampa and Orlando is going to be the key to a competitive team.

Could be another Mike Alstott...would love to see that sort of brutal running power again.

You win. Remind me when we get closer to the season.
