I dont know who #1 is, but every time I see a big passing play by the other team, he is right in the middle of it
Usually a few yards behind it.

Cinci defense looks really good, but it doesn’t feel like I’m watching a top 10 team.

The team rushed for 100+ on UF and the line opened up some huge holes. I expect that total gets doubled tonight. Rushing is probably at the bottom of my list of concerns for this team.

He led the best offense in school history -- I'm not sure whether he would have been the answer as a HC but there's no way he would have been worse than "let's slow the offense down" Charlie Strong. After the Birmingham Bowl win I had hoped we'd give him a shot.
Yup. Needed to keep that machine rolling.
Back on topic, Cincinnati is fraudulent.

Pretty sure we didn't had a chance to keep him but it sure would have been nice ..... he would have been perfect to have slid into the hc slot when Willie headed to the Northwest.
In hindsight, we should have held on to TJ Wesit after Willie bolted, but I love me some Tom Allen.

Does anyone else here have ucf fans at their work that remind them about ten times a day that ucf is off to the P5 and USF is left behind ? Maybe this explains my sour attitude
Nah. I usually don't spend too much time chatting with the janitors.

I was actually kind of surprised at some of the holes the O Line was able to open up, even against the first team. There were some nice big chunk runs up the middle between Cecil and Wiggs.

1. Xavier Weaver is open more often than not.
2. He also can catch.
3. This is a good thing.

So we’re not all that confident Timmy can win or will do much better, but we all want to be head coaches and bench Cade to go with Timmy. OK I get it. That does make sense. Seriously.
That throw out of the shadow of the pirate ship to hit Weaver in stride at midfield gives me, if not confidence, at least hope. These receivers are going to be a problem for lesser competition, IF we can get consistent QB play.

I might be the only one that sees a very raw QB that will have very bad spells.
Fortin is not the answer, but I'd say Timmy does not much increase the likelihood of a win.
I agree that there will be some bad mistakes with McClain, but when the other option is a guy that can only throw short underneath routes because he can’t elude pressure and throws into coverage off his back foot, I think you have to ride with the guy that can make something happen with his legs and creates time for his receivers to get open. That being said, I don’t agree with your second point.

To be completely honest this is the most enjoyable USF game I’ve been to in three years, I just know we are capable of more and I find it sad
Agreed, but I’ll take whatever joy USF football brings me at this point.

I honestly don't feel too awful (I did after the 1st half though). I was ready to burn all my USF stuff but not anymore.
The fight we gave the 2nd half and McClain's play gives me hope for the rest of the year and the easier portion of our schedule. Also the fact that he's only a true freshman, this guy could end up being one of our greats if he continues to develop correctly.
Just wish Scott had taken a little more chances on 4th downs when we had momentum.
Thoughts?
I think Timmy could put up some better numbers against any other team we face this year, but he made some great throws and completely eliminated the bad decisions when the opportunities presented themselves. He and the team showed growth from week 1 to week 2. I am feeling positive about the rest of the schedule. We have a competitive team.

If McClain is not the starter going forward........
Yup. I think it’s extremely clear to anybody watching.

I like Marsh being in right here. Timmy proved everything he needed to prove, and at this point, it's all about solidifying whether Fortin is even the second stringer
This x 1000. Jeff Scott found his QB, nobody got hurt and they put up a fight.
Timmy McClain was kind of a big deal over here in Orlando… all over the local news and USF landing him was a bit of a coup. I have been pulled from the depths of despair.
-
Well, good news is we will be facing exactly 0 more Anthony Richardsons the rest of this year.

We can definitely be competitive in the AAC this year with McClain.
I love the fact we didn't quit.
We have talent at a critical position that most of the conference lacks. Tighten up a few things here and there and this team is top half of the league.

This Timmy McClain…

Florida is going to have to switch to Richardson. He is more dynamic than Jones. USF coaches need to be ready for that change.
They don’t have the personnel.

I don’t know guys. I don’t think we’re in a position to ***** about interceptions leading to field goals. I’ll take it, just improve next week.
