Funny how this team is looking up at Mississippi State in the polls.

I know it's early but neither of the bigs brought in that may have hastened Mack's departure have made me forget about him ....
I agree. Tchewa and Oduro look a lot like smaller versions of Jordan O. A stretch 4 is what this team needs on the floor at all times offensively.

Even B J is averaging 4 attempts a game ....
He was one of our better shooters, at least from mid range.

Looks like we should be able to dominate the paint, but expect a barrage of 3s from Wofford.

Good to see Brown and Collins get going. They need to be consistently that good for this team to do anything special this season.
Also, nice to see that 10:2 assist ratio from the PG spot.

We better hope...the newscaster said Georgia offered him...
That’s not what they said. They said Georgia offered Seminole WR Jimmy Horn Jr. (who we also offered).

The problem is that P5 teams have the $ thus have the recruiting advantage even in basketball. We could try and be like Gonzaga and Creighton but that would require us to drop football and go all in for basketball...something most of us would hate. I lived through that as a student and even then we were not all that good.

Nice to hear him referred to as “The USF Commit” here on the local Orlando news.

I think you have to work JB in there as well. He’s our only real 3-pt threat and is needed to stretch the D to open up the driving lanes and the interior.
On every third night, yes he is a threat. I think Yetna and possibly Anderson are more consistent, though I would like to see a bigger sample size of Anderson’s outside shot. Plus having Yetna and/or Anderson outside of the paint moves the bigger bodies out with them.

I would think Gregory‘s leash is very long. The real activity needed is figuring out how to play what he has to get the best out of them both offensively and defensively. I think he’s playing too deep on the bench myself, but it’s early and I imagine he’s trying to see what he has and find right combinations.
This is some quality insight from Coach Brad, particularly the last part. To me it looks like:
Casteneda
Collins
Murphy
Yetna
Durr
Is your best lineup offensively. I could do with way less Tchewa and Oduro and more Luke Anderson.

The problem there is I’m not convinced Castaneda is starting PG material. He’s been a serviceable #2 PG option, but really needs to take the next step in order for him and this team to be successful.
I’d almost be tempted to let DC run point as the offense usually runs through him anyway, but he’s certainly turnover prone so that has its limitations too.
I agree, but I think Castaneda is the best we got. Murphy is more of a combo guard and is best when he’s looking for his shot first.

Only 3 assists so far for the Bulls through almost 3/4 of the game. This isn’t gonna cut it. The loss of Rideau (a floor leader and general) seems to be hurting much more than anticipated.
Yep. PG was the main question heading into this season. I think it’s pretty clear at this point that Castañeda needs to be the starter while Murphy learns the ropes. Murphy would be better suited off the ball IMO.

They look more fluid with X on the floor

David Collins had 7 turnovers. He has no business being the primary ball handler.
12 hours ago, Triple B said:Not sure about this. Don't really like DC at pg but he had 4 assists today to CM's 0 ......... of course, without rewatching game, you don't know how many assists he may have had if we'd have been able to finish.
Cant get the assist if nobody’s putting the ball in the hoop. I think the team could do a better job moving off the the ball and getting open when the defense collapses in the lane on Collins/Murphy. Also lots of hesitation to take the mid range and 3 pt looks that we’re there off that penetration.
