If Harlan is 100% behind Taggart then let him keep the whole staff one more year at least for recruiting purposes.
At this point, we can do nothing but wait and see how next year plays out.

I wasnt on the fire Holtz bandwagon.
But sign me up for the fire Taggart one.
Hes just not ready to head coach at this level.

Last game of the year.
The student body is pretty riled up for this game!
Lets get it bulls,
fans MAKE SOME NOISE today
Hope you're right about the students. I'm expecting a lot of red in the north end zone (and everywhere else). Would love to be pleasantly surprised.
GO BULLS!
Even if the student section isn't 100% full today,
I can promise you the students that are going are gonna be rowdy.

Taggart ruins qbs. I don't see how he will be able to recruit a good qb. It's obvious he and his staff cannot coach them.
Odd, seing how Taggart was a QB himself.
You'd figure he'd be pretty familiar with the position.
Maybe the QBs on our team just arent that good?

Our offense is young not really the problem. Our true frosh runningback is a stud.
The defense on 3rd down is the problem.

Chris Cosh is the reason we lost so many games in 2012.
Hes the reason Holtz doesn't have a job anymore here anymore.

Taggart is really really really young for a head coach and theres going to be a lot of growing pains. He's at the point of his career like Saban at Michigan State or even Harbaugh at Stanford went 5-7 his second year.

This year's team would whoop last year's team by 20
-
We can still go 8-5 this year guys...chill out.

Davis hasn't been a leader for 4 yrs....why would he start now? A true freshman (mack) went over and got him away.
If you had to put up with the **** seasons Davis has been a part of I'm surprised it took him this long to explode.
True bull.

Bench likes to close his eyes sometimes when he throw the ball. Seems like every other 15+yd pass from him is an interception. Hes good at scrambling though, thats about the only advantage he has over White. And even that's going to get surpassed by Flowers soon enough.
-
This would be awesome.
-
Only getting better.
Next season, we're going to be a solid team.
-
It was awesome last week when the Giants played the Eagles and Nate Allen repped South Florida too. My roommate that went to UVA was shocked so many USF players were on the field.

Well, O line is definitely a "position of need" for us, so getting talent there will definitely help our O and the rankings at the same time. Now, if we just landed a 5-star punter, that would do less for our team but would up our stock at recruiting.
Think that's closer to what 94 was saying with the two different quotes.
Sure. But if recruiting rankings are as accurate as he says, then five years worth of recruiting is well over 100 players. That is going to be pretty darn representative of the type of talent you have at your school. I haven't seen any school sign 10 5 star punters over a five year period.
Any way you slice it, we get "better" recruits than NIU and they would beat the snot out of us on the field. This leads to two inescapable conclusions:
1. Getting one single recruit of any quality means diddly.
2. We have gotten very little out of our recruits overall.
I disagree,
Signed
Mr. Mack

Flowers is going to redshirt the rest of the year. CWT promised him playing time his first year and NC State was the only OOC game so out of hand (for the wrong reasons) that he was able to throw him in there. Bench will back-up for the rest of the year since he knows hes a Mike White injury away from starting but expect him to transfer after this season.

It easy to look back now and say "yeah well what I would've done is..."
Back when this happened there was A LOT of anti-Leavitt feeling on this board because of the fact that his teams couldn't deliver down the stretch and also how some thought he had misused Mike Ford as he was the sole reason we won our bowl game against NIU that year.
Now its clear that eventually recruiting really is the key to how successful our program can be, maybe had Leavitt had a couple of more recruting years with a BCS tag...
But you gotta remember that he didn't get fired for "striking" Miller, but for forcing his coaches and players to change their story. Leavitt got canned for the cover-up more than the crime so he had to go.
CJL was the father of this program and its a shame how his legacy ended around here, its going to take something BIG (opening of an OCS in 2018?) for USF and Leavitt to agree to some kind of public appearance or ceremony which kind of sucks because the man loved the school.

I'm starting to get really fond of our conference mates. Hopefully we all start getting some nice out-of-conference wins in the coming seasons to get the American some respect.
Cept UCF
the only conference school I can never root for.

Florida kids either play really up to their competition or really really down to their competition. Wisconsin is coming in cocky as hell, as would I if I were them, but overlooking could be a possibility. I don't know guys we have some freak athletes on our team just looking for motivation and this might be it.
I wouldn't bet too much on Wisconsin coming in 'cocky as hell.' Wisconsin is a team made up of walk-ons, two- and three-star recruits, with a few four-stars sprinkled in. A very hard-working, blue-collar team that still has a sour taste in its mouth after blowing a 24-7 lead against LSU. They are also coached by Gary Andersen, a guy that rebuilt a respectable Utah State program. His Aggies came into Madison a couple years ago and almost pulled off an incredible upset. I am sure he has instilled into these players the respect to give to a opponent perceived to be 'inferior.'
The Badgers also own the nation's second-longest home winning streak against non-conference opponents. There is motivation for this team not to break that streak.
Best of luck!
Sounds just like us.
Hence why I dont think this game isn't terribly unattainable for us.
Gary Andersen IS one hell of a coach tho.

USF Football lives for games like this.
We lose by 14.
-
Told yall. We were gonna win.
-
I would be disgusted with how this fanbase is treating its current players and coaches in a transition process from the Holtz destruction. I don't think you guys comprehend just how many Freshmen are playing out there right now, sure we suck right now but this team has no where to go but up. I guarantee we win tomorrow.

MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT IN USF HISTORY
in USF South Florida Bulls Athletics

There were a lot of USF fans, we just had nothing to cheer about for 4 quarters.
