  1. No just makes it better for UM to get him Yep. And now Denson is taking an OV to Miami. Interesting times. Kirkland will sign with UM. That's my guess, but people said the same about Todd Chandler & Elkino Watson, 4 stars in Dade Co. But they signed with USF. I don't know if the impending sanctions sway the kids who grew up watching & loving the Canes, but it may nudge a few over the fence. I'd think UM would some closure on the topic, just so the unknown is killed. UM getting OC Coley is likely a boon, as well. We've scored some good OL this season, but he seems like he'd be a good add to our class. P.S. Good call on the funny FSU probability goof...guess the Garnett & Gold see 45% as "worst case".
  2. Wow...it's a LONG shot, but saw this just now on ESPN. http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/southeast/post?id=15685 Recruiting complicated for ATH Folston January, 29, 2013 Jan 29 3:27 PM ET By Corey Long | ESPN.com ESPN 150 athlete Tarean Folston (Cocoa, Fla./Cocoa) will make his decision next Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. ET in a school signing day ceremony. The 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior is still committed to Notre Dame, but things have become complicated.
  3. Any word on Dunkley coming back? I know a lot of people don't want him, but if he comes back, he stretches the field, and is an amazing KR [per an ex-Gator who played with him]
  4. Good luck...we're looking forward to better days with our incoming RBs. Hoping we pick up Kemp Friday, but if not, another solid back to complement McCray [who actually may be the best of the bunch for Taggart's "wear 'em down" style]. Curious to see how Pierre responds to the competition...and Battles, too.
  5. Agree, but two potential factors: 1. Denson acts like Kirkland is tethered to him, so FSU has a shot. 2. Taggart no longer surprises me, so USF has a shot.
  6. All you need to know about Rivals is that they rate almost all players in a tight band, tenths of a point sometimes between many players. More importantly, rankings are silly. For example, we have 4 more than TCU, and a slightly higher avg...yet the same total points score. Worse, it ranks SMU over Miami and Lville. Strictly on volume. Not sure which of these ranking/scoring sites is best, so I'll rely on Coach Taggart to fill his stars.
  7. No surprise...we'll be fine. He likely saw Fennell and Hall, and decided USF wasn't going to work for him. Good luck...and thanks for freeing up a schollie.
  8. Forty-two. that's the answer, now what's the question? When will the rhetorical questions end?
  9. Not the kind of player I want on the team. The knucklehead forgets that Lville is in...Kentucky. He better show up, or Kentucky fans will be taunting him for years. Can't be too great if he lives in Gville, his dad was a Gator football player...and they passed on him.
  10. This kid plays a few miles from my home...he's got a high ceiling. If Taggart can get him, and we can bulk him up a bit, could be big. He's got a Selvie-like motor.
  11. No doubt. Strong can have him. UK fans think they'll get Hearns. Would be nice to add Hearns, but not likely.
  12. Lville had only 1 LB before Kelsey. I'm betting they get Hearns, too, as I hear the two are chums. Florida apparently dumped Hearns due to grades, but I doubt that even causes Lvile to blink. Lots of room on Strong's list, and I expect him to pull hard & have a a Top 25-35 class. Let's hope he doesn't poach any of our commits.
  13. But all that silicone. I did it for 8 years. Was done when I left. I dunno at 25 there's no place I'd rather be. Suffice it to say I am closer to AW's age then you and I'm assuming his mind works the same way. And again USF is no where near the education at UCLA After having been to LA and spending over a month in the area, it's a complete shizhole unless your living in the Hollywood Hills or 10 mins away in Beverly Hills. I'd rather be in Orange County, that place is gorgeous. Having worked on a project based in Irvine, I'm with you 100%. Laguna Beach, and several beach towns are great. But LA is traffic snarl, and if you take a wrong turn, good night. Of course, I have a similar opinion of Miami, but there are good qualities with both, and for an 18 year Big Man on Campus, I'm sure that's very appealing.
  14. If speed were the only factor, Hopkins would have been our leading rusher last year. I think Hopkins was a track star first, football player next. And he was actually blossoming into a go-to WR before his injury. I think he's back next year, so I'd expect even better things. Davis looks like a Warrick Dunn type. I'd love to have him.
  15. Life goes on...can't win 'em all. At least we have Harris, who I've read is at the same level. Hearns likely goes to Lville or UK, I'm guessing.
  16. Wonder if they're a package deal. Will be interesting to see who Kelsey picks...and if it's not USF, does Hearns still come for an OV? Seems he hasn't committed to an OV...was a "might". So, my guess...both go to UK.
  17. Think Derek messed up... Its FAU not FIU. I think he was set to commit to FAU tomorrow but his visit to Minnesota this weekend is making him reevaluate. We got on him too late and honestly I'd take Davis as our second back over Webb My guess is we'd only take Webb to get Kelsey, and since I suspect Kelsey is headed to UK [or Lville], this 830 press conference is moot for USF.
  18. I think we get Davis or Kemp...not both. Hopefully they've given Taggart an indication, so he can focus on other areas of need.
  19. Looks like Robbie Garcia decommitted. I hate to see guys leave, but if this was one of the mutual decisions, best of luck to both parties.
  20. I guess we won't hear about Kemp, Johnson or Coley till NSD? Still hope Valdes goes elsewhere...he should be glad USF reviews GPA & SAT, and not Tweets.
  21. I'm not sure about wienies...but Wilder clearly decommitted. And that's AFTER he met Cooper, who seems to be a draw for DBs. Who knows what's going on in Wilder's head, and how good Tuberville is at getting into these guys' heads. We'll survive either way, but having a good JUCO CB make an impact would be a good think. Then again, I was hoping for something similar with Juco's Montgomery & Brown last year. Not so much.
  22. Who gets Webb? Frankly, I wouldn't want him unless it was to get Kelsey. We have a much better RB in McCray, and possibly Kemp.
  23. Looks like Auman's on it. More drama. Guy tells GA he hasn't commited to Cincy, but is no longer committed to us. http://twitter.com/gregauman
  24. Yup...that's the main point I had. These guys abuse the word "commitment". "I'm committed...till I'm not". Didn't realize he was a May enrollee, but frankly, I'm ok if we can get some better talent with the new opening.
  25. Last year I thought we had ample WRs...then with injuries, it became clear: you can never have too many playmakers. I'd put Miami as 70%, FSU at 25% and USF at 5%. He's got "swag"...watch his video, and UM just hired FSU OC Coley. So I'd guess UM will pull this guy. But having seen his tape, if we somehow got him, I'd be giddy. With all this talent LOOKING to be fed footballs, a good QB should be happy to land here. Not sure why we can't see to attract [that said, White could be that guy]. thought I read coley, the coach, wasn't involved in recruiting him Don't know, but with FSU no sans OC, it seems UM gets the edge of FSU. He's a beast...and would make an impact here quickly, IMO.
