What kills me is seeing hightlights of a good team vs. cupcake and the announcers talk up the good team like they are playing an equally talented team.  These games should be excluded when considering players for the Heisman or any other award.  Just padding stats....

So someone like Flowers or Mckenizie Milton are automatically out?

The P5 can't split without some achievable mechanism for inclusion.  That would be the definition of a monopoly and anti-trust laws would come into play.  Don't forget that most of the P5 schools are public institutions.

Guess we will find out. Some think the number will be as small as 24....

  3. Not sure which board to drop this in but figured wanted to ask anonymous internet users input on a couple of questions. Maybe this can be a catch all for future cries for help?

I was offered a trade of Jimmy Graham for Julien Edleman straight up. My current WR are Edleman, Hopkins, Ridley, Corey Davis, Jordy Nelso, Goodwin. My TE are Watson and Brate. The league scoring is standard with ZERO PPR.

Should I upgrade the TE with a sure top 10 option or ride out the stream? In a PPR league I would tell the guy to get bent, but I am iffy on Edleman's value in a non-ppr.

The other question for this week is: Which 3 get the start at RB this week? Melvin Gordon, Joe Mixon, AP, and Brieda. Typical week I know who I am rolling, but not sure about Mixon and his ankle. If he starts do I roll him?

Is it weird it upsets me that they won't include UCF? Auburn lost 4 total games, including to UCF since UCFs last loss, and still is above them. I think I'd rather separate from the entitled 5 and form our own league. They really have hijacked the sport

Yeah good luck with that. When the split happens the G5 is dead. They already have almost zero leverage, and when Div 1 is fractured they will have the same leverage 1AA has.

So your saying people with darker skin tones are more aggressive in their writing?

You are really stretching here Cousin SJW.

I am saying worldstar is a black social media site, and commenters will have different reactions in the comment sections based on skin color. The general reaction to white people ******* in the bathroom, and black people ******* in the bathroom, is wildly different on that website. There is a user who only posts videos of himself ******* chicks at bus stops, and the reactions are basically "atta boys".

Those comments are over the top.  It says "No spamming or racism" but a lot of the comments are racist.

They also probably were also charged with resisting arrest as well.

Yeah worldstar is an ugly site.

You get everything from gang fights to gang ***** on there. The videos typical feature darker skin tones than the ones seen here so thats why the comment section are a little extra aggressive.

Because perception of how good your program is, is based on your history.  Just looked at VaTech being ranked

I think this is conflating legacy with performance.

Schools like Va Tech get the benefit of the doubt because they had a decade plus run, a long time ago, versus other "storied" programs. UCF is on a hot streak versus Tulane, Tulsa, and Temple.

Unless there is a chaotic last 6-7 games UCF is actually probably in 6th place in the committees eyes? Maybe lower?

I think the bigger nightmare for the committee would be 5 teams from the P5 running the table.

    Bama/Georgia

    OU/WVU

    tOSU

    Clemson

    Notre Dame

Heck, I feel pretty comfortable saying if those 7 teams finished with 1 loss they would still be above Cent. Florida. I would add if PSU runs the table, any of the Pac 12 North teams run the table, or even a Texas or Oklahoma State run the table they would leap frog the Golden Knights.

But I hope I am wrong, and they finish 4-7 :FIREdevil:

  8. Can someone explain to me why a system designed to pick the 4 "best" teams of the CURRENT season would find last year's record relevant?

If UCF runs the table, they will have no ranked wins, a strength of schedule in the low 80's, and would have only played 4 road games. Their schedule was somehow tougher last season, and lets be honest their only 3 notable wins (before the bowl game) came at home vs Memphis and South Florida.

I was just pointing out that there are a handful of teams that support the rest of the P5

Agreed that individual teams are very likely cyclical (except Alabama because they are the devil).

But regardless of the team names, the conferences tend to stay the same.

IE Georgia would be interchangeable with UF

    tOSU with Michigan

    etc...

It means once they have invested more into us then it will be in their best business interest to promote us more than currently.  Right now they don't need to do any promotions because the product is selling itself and is profitable relative to their minimal investment.

I'm curious as to why ESPN, CBS, or any other media entity would invest more into the Group of 5 at this point?

Or are you speaking college football in general?

Either way, these companies invest in games that people watch. Can you guess what games people watch?

I will give you a hint, its not the GO5:

The media gives the power, once the media deals normalize there will be more power distributed due to business interests.  It's not that you're wrong for believing what you do, but you miss a lot of things being stuck in first gear like you are.

    What does this even mean?

or only unhealthy people still drink that sugar water called soda...its a dying market. The big two have completely diversified to maintain a business presence.

General consumption of soda has been in decline for a decade in the US, but people (everyone not just unhealthy individuals) still drink it by the gallon (45 gallons per year per American), especially during "special events" like a football game, going to a theme park, going to the movies etc...

And yes like any intelligent business, both companies have recognized a change in consumer preference and adapted its product offerings to maintain market share.

Full disclosure I do not work for either company but have a strong belief that if you drink the horse piss they pass off as "Diet Pepsi" you should lose every privileged granted to us by the constitution.

Last season this board bitched (complained) its way to a 10-2 regular season record.  Where we should have won the Houston game and were in it til the end of the UCF game.

Keep complaining if you want to (granted there are issues with this team), but ultimately wins are what really matters (unless you're Alabama, Ohio State, and apparently, VaTech) and that's what we've done so far.

So what you are saying is...if it ain't broke don't fix it?

Message boarders will continue to find something to ***** about and the South Florida Bulls will continue to win games.

    Deal!

  14. I live in South Carolina and work in North Carolina. On a daily basis I am internally gutted on what shade of blue or red I should be hating on.

But in all seriousness, the two states have had a competitive rivalry dating back to when it split into two. The one Carolina marketing gimmick is actually heavily leaned on by the Panthers, but this was an easy lever to pull when both states got hit by a natural disaster.

  15. All of the criticism on BB is warranted. While the line has done him no favors I am not sure he has a completed a pass to a non-primary route yet. He has a strong arm but has made some poor decisions, and doesn't keep his head down field when he gets pressured.

That being said the backup QB is always the most popular man on campus, and there is no way a change should be made...right now.

Which was kind of my point.  I never see anyone, especially the major networks, even mention what this dude did, which was cowardly and despicable.

This what he did. He punched a girl who pushed him twice and called him a ni*er.

Let it show in writing again my official position is man or women, hitting is a no-no, but the comment section doesn't exactly have your view point.
