Memphis is getting raped by the refs right now.

Just like now
I think fans in the American are going to find it a lot harsher of a reality as a defacto 1AA league.

Current system is absurd
Thats what people have said about every system since I have been alive.
Pretty soon its going to be the top 64 teams and an 8 team playoff, and there will be zero way for USF or Cent to get in.

I still don't get this Cent. love-fest logic.
Let the guy you dislike most at work finger your wife.
He didn't **** her but he got close, and somehow thats good for you?

and we get to laugh at the farce that is the CFP again this year .......
I think 99% of the country feels Alabama's resume win/lose is good enough to be one of the top 4 teams.
Even if Bama loses name 4 teams better. Thats the only objective of this current system, find the top 4 teams after 12 (13 with conference championship) games.

Can I tag this?
Hello to the guy in the USF shirt I saw at 5 Guys in Southwest Charlotte about a month ago...go bulls!

They are doing a lot of the progressive stuff I think would help the game (no kick offs, fewer reviews, no tv time outs!!) So I'm going to give em a shot.
That being said I still think the opportunity isn't with AAAA players if you will, but going after ESPN top 300 players. A league similiar to the Canadian Juniors in hockey. Draft from high schoolers. Maybe have a handful of spots for the Manziels of the world, but focus on being the development league for future stars of the NFL. Start paying the 18 year old talent before the NCAA gets around to it.

as far as you know- not everyone shakes hands after a game either.
when Lebron did it (and others), people got equally upset with those actions.
Look-- you can act like we are freaking out about it but it is a message board and a discussion is happening here. No one is forcing you to join in the discussion if you think we are "freaking out". Most of us have said it was not the worst thing but not ideal behavior.
as for what QF was doing in that video-- he explained it was not the motion you said but something else entirely-- rolling the dice. And based on the way this season went-- I wonder if he was in that huddle saying-- "hey guys, they want a half back dive -- but screw that-- let's roll the bones and go for it" - at least I'd like to think that is what he was doing.
Pretty obvious what their running back did several times with the horns down thing-- no one is faultless when it comes to this crap.
I am sure some players didnt, thats worse sportsmanship. On a scale of 1-10 in terms of representing the university, the coin toss etiquette is like a 0. Not shaking hands after a loss is like a 0.5. If the players would have gone full Patrice O'Neal when Milton was down I would say that would be a poor reflection on the team.
I would call randos on the internet asking for kids to be benched for a bowl game over a handshake a freakout
Also, "dice", sure.
-
This reminds me of the board freaking out at QF dropping the jerk off motion to the Cent student section last year. In the heat of the moment in a big game kids may act like kids.
Again its not like they started a physical altercation, or refused to shake hands after a loss.

I like Blake on and off the field. I also think he showed himself to be the best option at QB this year, though he is far from developed yet.
He is 23 in a month playing against 18-year-old kids. I get he had only started like 3 games before this season, but if he wasn't going to exploit his physical talents this year what makes us think next year is different?
Hope I am wrong but his inability to find the second receiver, and massive regression from day 1, was sad. He really started under-throwing receivers late in the season. MAYBE it was a confidence issue because our O-line was garbage, maybe it was nagging injuries that were more serious than they seemed, or maybe there is a reason why a talented coach like Saban cut him lose. Obviously, USF does not have the stable like Al-uh-bama does, but I would expect a fierce battle this summer, and a short lease (especially of Strong is gone).
-
Fighters who dislike each other refuse to touch gloves before a big fight. I think it is fine and can even be used as a mental tactic to get into the heads of the other guys.
Not shaking hands AFTER the game is much more disrespectful.
Its not like they ended up throwing punches like the handful of other games saw this weekend.

Very tragic. Here’s to a speedy recovery.
I think he is lucky he kept the leg. I have never seen such pessimistic reporting on a leg injury before. Unless its a long con to set up a "comeback story" two years from now... even someone cynical like me has trouble believing that.
And the sick fucks at ESPN report on whats important, noting the playoff committee has "taken the injury into account" when deciding the final 4.- 2

I've seen a handful of the games during Cent. Flor's streak and they have gotten some huuuuge calls go their way. The phantom holding call vs. Memphis this season is one that stands out right away.
I am not saying the conference is propping them, just saying they have been getting the breaks and bounces and fully expect that to continue.
Not sure any of that matters with how down the team is after the Philly choke job.

As a UCF fan, I would just like to say that I think you guys are doing a great job.
You should definitely keep doing what your doing.
Let be honest; as a UCF fan you didn't realize they had a football team two years ago, and will be back to rooting for the Gators once the streak is over.

You do realize how pathetic it is to continually refer to ONE GAME that was 11YEARS ago right?
Ever see Al Bundy on Married With Children?
We are a 21 year old program that relies on 1 game in 2007 as our “glory days”.
Anyone making this argument has literally never achieved any personal success in life. I’m convinced.
You're wrong.
Give it up.
Crowd noise has nothing to do with the OCS. It has to do with playing meaningful games. USF doesnt have those anymore.

Honestly, I feel no real enough rivalry with them left to wish them ill, other than when we play next week. I feel UCF winning out will serve a greater purpose for college football. I would snicker if they lose, but not foaming at the mouth.
Our time will come.
Eventually.
There has never been a more wrong take in the history of the planet.

You are embarrassingly wrong.
I still have hearings issues from the noise in the stadium that game.
Ask Pat White or any of the old WVU trolls how loud it was that night.

I would like the record to show my thread was merged and this was not my original title.
I think Barnett is a good QB. I don't think he has an NFL future.
-
You seem like a great person. Have a degree from a solid school. You have a dime piece of a wife and a cute kid.
The NFL isn't in your future. Cut your losses and move on with your life. No need to come back for 12 more games and risk an acl or worse a head injury.
Just my 2 cents

I know the speculation never seems to end. I don't think any of them would be drafted at this point. We only see things through the green goggles but if you watch a lot of CFB, one would see we really don't have any early draft picks on this team.
Wilcox has been listed on mock draft sites as high as the 2nd rd.

This isn't a case of homerism, he is a legit next level tight end (that for some reason this board loves to **** on).

Offense sells tickets, and defense wins championships ... at least that's how it used to be. Defense is going by the wayside, and not just in college, but in the NFL too.
I think this is a little bit of a misnomer.
Other than Notre Lame, the top 3 teams in the "Playoffs" are 1-2-3 in scoring D.
https://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/28
And yes the Saints are an outlier, but the division leaders in the NFL are all in the top half of the league in Points Allowed.
http://www.espn.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total/sort/totalPointsPerGame/position/defense
I'm guessing YoY the numbers are looking worse, but comparatively speaking in a season you need to at least be "league average".
