  1. Say what you want about this being a "non-story". The rest of the national media disagrees with you.

Heads need to roll?? You've got to be kidding. First, national blogs is not "reporting". Second, we must have the thinnest skinned group of fans I've ever seen ...

A sign you're old. A blog is sadly considered "reporting" in the 21st century. Given social media, this story has been seen more times than you could imagine.

And yes, it's funny it was blown up by USF fans. If voodoo5 didn't post it, not many people would have noticed. Greg may have written a blurb about it.

  2. Another thing that got nixed because of oil companies:

And tampas streetcar thanks to the auto industry. I start planning school in the fall, and Tampas awful history of planning helped influence that decision.

    Anywaysssss, back on topic haha...

I'm thinking of doing a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning at USF. Where are you going to do "planning school?"

I'll be at either FSU or UF. Already got into FSU but I'm still waiting on UF's decision. I don't really have a preference on either one, as both will provide me with what I'm after and are top 25 Planning departments according to Planetizen.

USF's program is now in the brand new "school of public affairs", which will include the MPA program. It's definitely still in its infancy, but the professors that teach in the program are mostly people I have had for undergrad coursework and I can say I've enjoyed my time with them.

Also: the job market in planning is a bit iffy right now, and entry level jobs can be tough to obtain. I'm a realist about things, but I'm also optimistic because I'm a bit more diversified in my goals as well as background. If you have anymore questions feel free to shoot me a message... I've done my homework on this stuff and have met with various faculty across the state so I have some knowledge on what's going on out there.

Actually, planning IS the topic, no?

    We offer an MPP?

USF started a Masters in Urban and Regional Planning in 2009... I'll be going elsewhere though.
