  1. It's not odd at all if you look at it in context of their conversation.....

@MattFloyd11 your head coach was at abother qbs house today watsup with that ? I thought you were his man

@JStat_9 i am his man bruh...what QB you talkin bout??

@MattFloyd11 qb from country side , I don't think he's too good but if holtz looking at him he can't judge talent in my opinion

@JStat_9 well he could be a 2012 prospect? they arent loking to take another QB. They look at some QBs and plan on changing their position.

  2. Man Dude, why are you so worried about UCF's attendance?

The the band section commenter...as for the band being the complete student section, come on. Are you serious?  Pick on something you know about...and that is in the relm of reality.

You realize the text in my post was the article written by one of the writers that covers you guys right? I didn't take the time to write that...

And I think the band thing was directed towards me as well. I said that UCF's band is in the middle of your student section...somehow you took that as an insult, while all I was doing was commenting on the fact that, well, your band is in the middle of your student section, with no underlying meaning behind it. I've been to plenty of UCF games, in the citrus bowl and at BHNS, and I like how you guys have it in the middle of the section now a days.

I'm not hating on UCF's attendance that much, but to be honest I was a bit disappointed you guys didn't sell out.

  3. http://www.floridatoday.com/article/20101205/COLUMNISTS0306/12050332/1065/SPORTS/Peter+Kerasotis++Not+even+free+tickets+could+fill+this+House

    They didn't fill the stadium.

That's what you need to know first.

    They didn't fill the stadium.

After a week of speculation, anticipation and, frankly, a bit of desperation, UCF couldn't fill its home stadium for its football team's title game.

They gave away tickets to students for Saturday's Conference USA Championship Game, a game the Knights won by beating SMU, 17-7. Repeat. They gave away tickets. Free. No cost. No charge. Just come. Please. Pretty please. With a chance to witness history. Not that UCF has that many students. Only, oh . . . 57,000! Second most of any university in the country. Not to mention the more than 100,000 alumni who live within a few hours drive of the university.

And yet they couldn't fill Bright House Networks Stadium, which seats 45,000. By the time thousands of late-comers trickled in -- and how do you arrive late for a championship game? -- they announced the crowd at 41,045. Which, trust me, is a generous, if not a disingenuous, figure.

    Whatever.

Point is, they didn't fill the stadium.

And this is a program that wants to be big time.

    Or, at least, Big East.

At the noon kickoff, the stadium was a bit more than half-full. Or maybe it was a bit less than half-empty, depending on your point of view. I prefer the former, because I'm optimistic about UCF. This is a football program and an athletic department on the rise.

But, really, how do you not fill your own stadium for a conference championship game?

You're a ranked team, for the first time in school history. You had a chance to win your 10th game, for only the second time in the school's Division 1-A history. It was a gorgeous day, too, one seemingly cut straight from a postcard of what a college football Saturday should be all about.

And you know what else it should be about?

    Filling your stadium.

I got a text message early in the first quarter from a UCF alumnus, a friend, who was sitting in the stands.

"This attendance is stupid and embarrassing," he said. "Truly a shame."

  4. Stadium actually looked full after a while as people seemed to trickle in late. I would think you'd want to be on time for an important game.

Visitors (north) end zone had alot of empty areas, likely those tickets were given to SMU and they obviously didn't fill them. Dunno how the ticket setup goes, but you can't blame UCF if they gave a big allotment to SMU and had no access to get SMU's leftover tickets.

Good win for them though. They have a stout defense.

I hope they can beat UGA/KY/TN in the Liberty Bowl.

I saw that too, and thought it was the band's seats, and was empty since they had already made their way towards the field for halftime...

No UCF's band is literally in the student section.

  5. Ham it up now and have a good ole laugh.  Once we get into the

Big East it will be all over for everyone.

I don't know about "all over for everyone", but I am able to see things without green and gold tint to everything.....

UCF is already either just as competitive or more competitive than USF in just about every sport. They have facilities that are just as good or better than ours, as well as an on campus stadium. I know most people on here think the stadium thing doesn't matter, but to some recruits it does. I know I wish USF played on campus. Their football recruiting is already on par with ours, and in basketball and baseball it's better.

This is all while playing in Conference USA, without BCS money or the BCS name to recruit with. UCF is a serious threat to USF and I think that's why USF fans get so riled up over the UCF expansion talks. USF fans have had years of being the big guy and holding the 4-0, BCS, etc. thing over UCF fans heads, and that could potentially change in the near future.

  6. Would you rather have Jeffrey Godfrey or BJ Daniels at QB?

Godfrey hands down, and I can tell you that I'm honestly saying that without being a homer... He is the biggest recruit we've had since Culpeper... Remember to that he is a TRUE freshman and the coaches are just now starting to install plays designed around him as the playbook they installed in the summer was intended to be run by both QBs (RoCal was supposed to be the starter this year). He is going to be very good...

It's still early, but I think I'd probably rather have Godfrey too.

  7. The School of Music...aka the Visual and Performing Arts Teaching Facility.

AND the new nutrition center/athletics dining hall.

AND the building thats being built next to the Alumni Center.

    lol

    Those three..

    GO BULLS!!!

    No.... "lol"

The new Science building is going up to NES, as well and the new athletics/nutrition hasn't started yet. The thing you're probably thinking of is the chiller plant.

  8. The "points" system they use is screwy.

Here they are based on average star (per rivals).

    UF: 3.89

    FSU: 3.48

    Miami: 3.07

    USF: 2.88

    UCF: 2.75

    FIU: 2.56

    FAU: 1.73

You simply are amazing.  I have watched you go on every board around trashing UCF and their recruiting class.  USF did well considering the coaching change but UCF did was simply amazing.  UCF did more than get 23 recruits, they build inroads to the best recruiting area in the country.  They went down to Miami and took kids that were heading to schools like USF, Louisville, Florida, FSU, GEorgia, Tennessee, amongst many others.  Yes USF did it as well but UCF did it without bing a BCS team.  UCF also built themselves one hell of an offensive line.  I would trade classes with UCF anyday.

What are you talking about? I'm only a member on this site.....never have and never will post on a UCF board or any other USF board. And I don't hate UCF AT ALL... do I want to beat them? Yes...but no more than I want to beat WVU or UConn. I have friends that go there, grew up in UCF territory (Brevard county), and have been to a TON of UCF sporting events. I decided that I didn't want to go to school there and didn't even bother applying (later found out they don't even have my major, so good call on that). I'm a freshman here so I wasn't even a student here when we played them in football either.

Anyways..... You're correct, UCF's class is extremely impressive....I never said it wasn't. I was simply showing people the average player that the schools brought in based on stars. Even you have to admit the points system that they use isn't a great method, mainly because it stresses quantity over quality in many ways.
