  1. How do you get a "Five men in the backfield" call in the 12th game?
  2. Eveld made sense as starter today. It looked like he was paralyzed by trying to keep to the directive of "whatever you do, don't give up the ball." When he had to move, he resembled an iceberg - no speed and a big target. Paralysis by analysis.
  3. Defense was not our problem today. Watched J. Hamilton a lot. Looks like a winner, monster at times. Got double teamed and still stood his ground. Others also looked good but James is only a soph. Offense needs a reliable short pass for 4 to 7 yards and fewer drops. I'm confident of 3 more wins.
  4. I see USF as "big time" in education and research. How can you call yourself "big time" in Florida sports when you don't even have a swim team (ex. UofF and last olympics). I support USF's efforts to get to "big time" from "nearly big time" in football with money and presence at games. I think they are at the door of "big time" (with one foot in) in basket ball now, and view the Holtz episode like a lateral in football where you might lose a yard for the opportunity to gain more. "Big Time" in football was thrown for a loss by Holtz, so my take is a new coach, and keep on supporting USF.
  5. We won't be in our usual reserved seats in section 213, but will pick up better seats for $10 bucks from disgruntled fans in the walkway. Holtz losing to FAU would certainly be his swan song. Disregard all the above if Holtz is fired.
  6. Maybe if we were the only team left, we could win the BE championship, but with Holtz, we'd probably tie for last.
  7. Maybe laughing stock is the wrong term, but, for the second consecutive game, announcers openly questioned his decisions. How does an extra point help us when we need three scores to win the game. We would still need three scores if the 2-pointer failed, but only two scores if it worked (see Bucs game last week).
  8. Up until this year, I haven't missed a home game and usually got to some away games every year. Last year, I saw our coach booed for bad clock management. It was a sick feeling, but he deserved it. He called timeout to give the opponent time to score in one game, and didn't call time out to give us a chance to plan better in another. We lost both games. Same stuff this year. We were an exciting, promising start up that commanded national attention at times. Today we are becoming a pitiful laughing stock. Lets face it, this coach is taking us down. Our players deserve better. A coach can only take players to their maximum abilities, but can also personally use them incorrectly so that they are lesser than their talents. If he were honerable, he would resign on the grounds that he can't live up to the requirements at this level.
  9. I have never seen worse clock management since the two flubs he pulled last year until now. Can anyone improve on the total absurdity???
