  1. Hey Hey! I actually went over my post history and I hadn't gone a whole year without posting. I rarely would post about football though...mostly BBall. lol GO BULLS!!!
  2. I mean...are we REALLY thinking its gonna be that close?! This is a team that gave up 30 to OLD DOMINION!!! lol I'm sorry but I think the difference in the quality of athletes on the field wins this one. USF will show up to play and play they will!! LETS ROLL THE TOPS!!! GO BULLS!!!
  3. Ice Palace/TBTTForum/SPTForum/Amalie arena is nowhere CLOSE to the AAA. I just finished 4 years with an Arena tour and I'm sorry...AAA is on another level than the tampa ice palace. Agree to disagree. :P #goBULLS
  4. Man...reading through this thread, its sad the amount of DOUBT we had for this season. lol I mean, most had slightly optimistic views. But for the most part there was no light...lol only darkness. Good to see a turn around on here and perhaps a turn around for the future! We back? Almost. LETS WIN OUR BOWL GAME AND GET RANKED!!! #GOBULLS!!!
  5. It opened in on new years eve in 1999. Surprising...its probably one of the best arenas in the state. Orlando's NEW arena is on par, IMHO. GO BULLS!!!
  6. We'll win more than that. Temple will win, Cinci will win, we'll win, NAVY will win...oh...and then theres Houston...maybs. lol #gobulls
  7. This is a great deal! AND a HEAT GAME is always a GREAT experience! #goHEAT #GOBULLS
  8. hahaha...yes it is. And the one at the ballpark(fingers crossed its open for our game) is super fun too! GO BULLS!! DT
  9. I recommend all of this. Allow yourself PLENTY of time. And when you're coming from the airport, and get off at CIVIC CENTER station to walk to the game, know its a 0.8mile almost mile walk to the stadium. GO BULLS!!!
  10. That paper also had auburn in the CHAMPIONSHIP. Oh brother... Go Bulls1
  11. Just and FYI too...the Broward County Alumni Assoc. is throwing a soiree as well. Not sure if this is the same one done by the big alumni association, but broward always throw s good watch parties and are great people ! https://www.facebook.com/groups/155756090615/ They have a lil facebook group if you want to check it out. I think its $45 for a "hearty" Lunch buffet and two drink tickets. $20 for kiddos. #gobulls
  12. After more thought on this, there really aren't too many options around the stadium that I would recommend within walking distance. HOWEVER, within a 15-20min walk there are some great spots. There is ONE place by the stadium, but I have not been to it. Its called "Batting Cage Sports Bar", menu looks legit and its steps away from the ballpark. You might see some bad reviews on google maps, but that usually comes from the patrons that go when its a "club" after hours. During our game and before/after it will be any old sports bar with good food at NON-stadium prices. I usually try and get out of there ASAP after the games, unless im drinking in the Clevelander in Left Field. This is the best bar in the area in my opinion, but the prices are steep. There are a bevy of other options about a 4min Uber away, or 15-20min walk(immediately south). "Calle Ocho" District. One is called Ball & Chain. Its Iconic watering hole from 30s-era miami and is located in Little Havana. Check it out! www.ballandchainmiami.com Other than that there are a ton of other options in the Calle Ocho district for food before and after the game. But after the game I recommend going to Coconut Grove, Brickell, South Beach or Wynwood and really taking in the more artsy and beautiful parts of Miami. GO BULLS!!!
  13. A jungle yes...but a very maneuverable jungle in broad daylight. lol The only thing you really have to battle is the heat, and there will be plenty of dude selling water bottles on the street. lol #gobulls
  14. I recommend getting a car. If you're gonna be around for that length of time. As much as we're talking about taking trains and such, Miami is a driving city. Just trying to give everyone all the available options. I'll most likely drive to the train and take that in, as I will be drinking and traffic after the game(around 5-6pm) will be TERRIBLE. I 'm from the area and have done all the touristy/south beachy things before. Might do some that day too...lol but after a big BULLS WIN!! GO BULLS!!!
  15. Hey Everyone! Your local USF/Marlins fan here to give you some free advice on the gameday situation at Marlins Park and the surrounding areas. The stadium is beautiful(I cryed when i first walked in), but its in a terrible neighborhood for driving and "high capacity crowds". I'd say that for an average Marlins game, there would be around 15k-20k people there, and its still somewhat difficult to navigate. For this game I anticipate it being around 25-30k which will be a tad under the capacity(it only holds 37k), and this means that driving will be a sh!t show. Honestly, if you plan on getting there early to tailgate, I recommend finding out the LOT in which you can park in. Not sure they'll allow tailgating in garages(though honestly thats the most premium and optimal place to park). There are a couple lots too, but they are very small, but will most likely allow tailgating. Outside of those two options(Garages/few small lots) there are a few other options. http://miami.marlins.mlb.com/mia/ballpark/marlins_park_parking.jsp - 4 garages and a handful of small lots, and this site also outlines the METRO-Rail, residential parking, and other methods of getting to the stadium. Parking at someones apartment or on a lawn: This is how it used to be done when this was the orange bowl. I will estimate that parking close to the stadium will be around $20 cash for this game and you can park in someones front lawn. This is a good option if you want to get in and OUT quick. Because the garages can take some time as well as the small lots. I always trust me car in someones place, I've been to over a 100 marlins games and this i s the option i usually take. Unless im ushering around my grandparents(then i'd do the garage). Or make sure the Lawn parking was close. Miami METRO-Rail: You can park at any satellite parking structure for the Miami METRO-Rail and take the train to the game. The station you can get off at is the CIVIC CENTER stop(i may have said UM Jackson before, this is incorrect). I have done THIS option for a few marlins games, and its honesty pretty stress free. IF you like to walk. Its about a 0.8mile walk to and from the stadium. Since the game is at 2:30 and will probably end during RUSH HOUR, i recommend this option. lol As for HOTELS and the team hotel. The Lowes Hotel is REALLY nice but kinda far away (in the heart of South Beach). You kinda need a car if you are planning to stay there. Those of you choosing to stay in the Brickell area or Downtown will have a much easier time getting to the Stadium. If I were an out of towner, wanting to take public transit and a savvy traveler, I'd choose brickell area and metro-mover/METRO-Rail it. South Beach is a great area and will be super posh and fun for all who choose to stay there, but there are awesome, far cheaper options Downtown. Also, for travelers on a budget, the Stadium is actually quite close to the airport. Whenever i have businiess in Miami, my company books in the Airport area and they run quite a bit cheaper than Downtown and South Beach. You can also avoid those pesky "resort fee's" booking at an airport hotel. I recommend having a car if you choose an airport/Miami-mart area hotel, but its a SUUUUPER easy drive to get to the stadium from there. Those looking for legit Cuban food down there will have no problem finding fantastic restaurants a stones throw from either where you're staying or even the stadium. Little Havana has some great spots and so does south beach. I recommend Puerto Sagua on Washington AVE in South Beach for cheap "terresita like" Cuban Food, I believe its also open 24hrs. There also a GREAT Mojito place on Espanola Way in South Beach called "Mojitos Lounge" . They run a special $5 Mojito all day and have a good happy hour. ..trust me...thats the CHEAPEST you'll find in South Beach. lol Also... for the Cigar City and Beer Knurds out there, check out Wynwood Brewing Company in Wynwood! Also the J.Wakefield and Concrete Beach Brewing Company in Wynwood . I highly recommend the Wynwood district for food and drinks postgame, or pregame. Its an awesome and new/upcoming arts district. Hope those of you going have a GREAT TIME and I'll see you down there! If anyone has any questions or wants recommendations please feel free to ask or PM me. Cheers guys and gals! GO BULLS!!! DT
  16. This is WKU's SUNBOWL. lol Honestly...im going with about 6 friends(in my group). I know a few others from down there that will be going also. The Broward County alumnni chapter is putting together a NICE tailgate for the group. Maybe whoever goes can crash it. I usually watch the games with the Broward County Alumni group when I'm home during the season. Great group of people. We always scream and scare away canes fans. GO BULLS!!
  17. FYI...ill post this in its own thread. There are two a few garages and a few parking lots around the stadium. A majority of parking(and the cheapest) is located at the houses and apartment complexes around the stadium. Pay the residents to park in their lots. Usually runs from $10-25 or $30-50(if the fish are playing the Yankees) :/ I go to marlins games ALL the time. Arrive early if you're driving cause parking and driving down there is a bit of a clown show. lol #gobulls
  18. and yes...OF COURSE COQUITO!! Lol I might even bring a plastic flask full of some into the USF section. #gobulls
  19. ACTUALLY!!! I lied...it's the Civic CENTER Stop! I'll post a map later!
  20. My parents house. Cheap, easy, and traditional puerto rican food before and after, CON MOJITOS! But seriously for you out of towners, I recommend staying in the Brickell area or anywhere near the airport. The stadium is very close to the Airport and 836. You can ALSO take the MetroRail to the Stadium and get off at the UM-Jackson Medical Center stop and walk. (like 0.5mile walk) This is a great option for those of you who want to get annihilated drunk before and after the game but might not have a DD. lol The Lowes Hotel on South Beach will be fun...but everything around there is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. lol But beautiful. I'll post some fav's for those of you looking for good food and things to do in a bit. Cheers! DT #gobulls
  21. lol...I don't like lose/lose situations. now i just think you are against it JUST to be against it. #gobulls
