  1. i agree...i think he was definitely the most talented rb we ever had (i always think of that first hand off for about 50 yards around the corner in the auburn game).  unfortunately, it seems he will end up falling into that "wasted talent" category.

bj has a great first step, not surprised he ran about the same time as lamar in the 40....and mike ford, really?  how long is he gonna chase the dream?  he screwed it up for himself, time to move on, my man.

Ford may have been the most talented RB we ever had.  If he got his act together and/or got in shape, no reason he couldn't be invited to an NFL camp

  2.

It's not about where you've been, but where you're going.

I believe this list will contain more USF commits in the future. Taggart has proven he is the man to make that happen.

I like Taggart, but he has not proved anything yet!!!! Let the man Coach a game before you declare him the savior.

Amen... just because he is not SKip does not make him a football god yet...

There is a huge difference between USF football, and WKU football.

we lost to ball state and temple last year.  the only difference recently between us and wku is we are conference bottom feeders, and they were middle of the pack in the sun belt last year and actually went to a bowl game.

  3. For next year, a lot of that is going to be predicated on what we get out of the qb position, whether it be from someone who's already on our roster, or an incoming freshman who wins the starting gig. We can have all the talent we want at wr, but without someone who can get the ball to them consistently we will continue to struggle.

  4. Think about what, small wording on a message board? Let me lay my point out for you.

Waverly Austin committed to USF out of high school.

Waverly Austin did not qualify academically out if high school.

Waverly Austin went to Palm Beach CC to earn his Associates.

    Waverly Austin earned his Associates.

Waverly Austin committed to USF again.

USF entrance has requirements that go beyond getting an Associates if you don't go to certain community colleges.

Those requirements are laid out in advance.

The Academic Committee reviewed his file.

Waverly Austin didn't qualify for USF because he didn't qualify for USF academically.

    Waverly Austin is playing elsewhere.

In the end, he didn't qualify.

    The end.

bottom line, austin screwed up (or usf screwed up by failing to advise him properly) by going to palm beach cc instead of one the institutions listed in the consortium agreement, to where he would have qualified at usf with a 2.0, not a 2.5.

It being that cut and dried of a case, why did it take so long to get his gpa? Was he taking a summer course?

im more curious about knowing the date he enrolled at palm beach cc, versus the date we signed the consortium agreement.  because if we signed that agreement BEFORE he enrolled at usf, why wouldnt he have gone to one of THOSE 4 schools?  i mean, it doesnt really matter who's to blame at this point, it is what it is and hes long gone, i guess this is just an extension of my frustration we've been having downlow on the basketball court this year. (rebounding, etc).
