going along with all the talk about our obscure sports, my backyard football team is playing the mandingo's tonight at 7pm on espn the ocho if anyone wants to tune in.  its on right after the midget tossing championships.

not sure if anyones seen this, but i just got the new SI in the mail today.  they list the projected top 10 for 2007 football, and name 3 sleeper teams....US being one of those 3!!!

I don't get why people feel the need to compare Grothe to every QB all the time. Matt had a nice year and really showed us he is a great competitor. I'll be happy to let his play on the field do his talking and avoid trying to hype him up beyond that.

exactly.  troy had absolutely no time to do anything last night.  its not his fault his line had absolutely no containment on uf's defensive ends.  and ohiobull, how in the hell is usc less than stellar?  were you watching the same rose bowl i was?

i know of at least 3 or 4 players that are high on usf, but still had upcoming visits to UL, hopefully this will work out well in our favor.

just heard on 620 wdae that the Sun Sentinel is reporting that Saban is out in Miami.. what does this mean for Mike Ford and potentially Robert Marve coming here?  will they head to Bama now that Saban is there?  Saban is a great coach, the kind of coach kids want to play for.  This isn't some coordinator upgraded to HC.  this is a championship caliber coach.  should we be worried?

if leavitt was half a recruiter.he could have had these guys locked up by now.

Lou holtz is the greatest.  How can you no love when he gets overly excited and starts mumbling his words.  

Lets the coach do what he loves, he deserves it.  

he mumbles his words if hes excited or not.  it sounds like he had a stroke then never gained complete control of his speaking abilities.  he sucks.

Having a good running game other than the QB will limit the injuries to Grothe. really only two. but one just bothered him all year then the break in the bowl.... if you recall every injury was on a designed run??? he will still run 5 or so times a game and then when things break down but not through the meat of the D.. he will be fine if we get a good back!!!

did he have any problems in HS or were these just frak things that happened this yr?

i only recall 1 time where the trainer even had to come onto the field in matts entire highschool career.  they were freak things...and by freak things i mean stop running our franchise up the middle on designed runs!!!!

if case you havent noticed on our recruits and prospects board, Bilal Powell has been getting much attention as our potential next great RB.  I hear he has his college choices nailed down to either USF or Louisville.  He is going on a visit to UL very soon.  my cousin plays with him, and talks to him regularly...so this is straight from the horses mouth.  the link on this post is a direct link to Bilal's myspace page. we need to desperately flood his myspace inbox with messages from us Bulls to let him know he IS being talked about, and being shown love from us.  any influence we can have on this kid to come here is HUGE.  he is UNBELIEVABLE, and needs to come to usf NOW!!!

however I did hear reports of extremely long waits for concessions (understaffed) and that they did run out of water again-- with a significantly smaller crowd.

not only did they run out of bottled water, but i had to pay $3.50 for a styrofoam cup with tap water in it.  it was either that, or die of dehydration.  now that i realize i paid 3.50 for tap water, i wish i wouldve just dehydrated.

theres some ooc team were playing next year called auburn...i hear theyre pretty good.  exchange this years mcneese state and fiu with next years elon and fau, we still have unc, and no longer have kansas and have replaced that game with auburn...explain how thats not an upgrade to our ooc schedule.

i havent really been keepin up with all the bowl arrangements until very recently when i found out i was gonna be able to get off from work to go.
