  1. rushing the field is good clean fun...and imo, anyone who views it otherwise doesn't have enough huevos to do it themselves.  the guy in that picture with andre hall is a genius.  i remember seeing him jump the wall and give one of the cops the swim move last year on his way to st pete times frontpage glory.  it almost brought a tear to my eye.  in a later interview, he was noted as saying that, "pepperspray is delicious."

  2. im not exactly sure why that has been the blame for inexcusable penalties in the past.  all im saying is that, now, starting as many freshman as we do, you HAVE to expect there to be a larger amount of penalties than if we started all 3rd and 4th yr guys.  its common sense.  obviously, if penalties have been a major issue the last 10 yrs, then coaching is to blame...and im sure thats part of the problem now too.  however, while all the young guys are developing thru the "learning curve", hiccups are definitely expected....not necessarily excusable, but expected nonetheless.

  3. in high school, matt definitely had an awesome running back to hand the ball off to.  that way, the defense always had to "guess" as to who was gonna get the bulk of the carries, travis buford or matt.  a two-headed monster so to speak.  i saw every snap of his in highschool, and this is what allowed matt to rush for over 2000 years during his jr and sr seasons.  the defense wasnt practicing keying in on ONLY him.  once ponton returns, this should open up that angle.

however, its hard for me to anticipate us winning many more games with 3rd down defense like that.  if i was the coach at KU, i wouldve just spiked the ball on 1st and 2nd down everytime, then heaved the ball downfield on 3rd to that soft prevent defense or whatever that was.  couldve scored a lot more pts had they done that.
