****, these guys are busy as hell anyways, why don't we just self-report/calculate, at least to give us all a swag where we finished.  If anyone really doubts anyone else's honestly (imagine that), they can just double check the figures themselves.  If we quote ourselves in our responses, to show our original prognostications, it might be easy and alleviate some of the burden on the "official recordkeepers".

For example, I had 48 in the pitt game above.  Anyone else, help yourself.....

  2. word to the darksiders, seth left on his own, he was not fired, he decided to leave without being pressured to by the athletic department, seth was always searching for another job when he was here.

Thanks for the history lesson, but again, who cares? Cheer for the current guys, or try to figure out a better current path, but endlessly looking back lustfully at mediocrity gets you nowhere.  Then again, with that perspective, maybe you should follow the FTU/OC/OU board more passionately.......

  3. Hey, good for you, ET. We recently had an unexpected death in our family, and most assuredly, we, like you, would do whatever we can to get by. I applaud both you and your wife for sacrificing for each other.   Given your frequency and passion on this board, I can only surmise  your lovely wife is a saint, god bless both of you, make it the 3 of you, and welcome back to paradise.

  4. i haven't heard...

but in the time he was on the court (very very briefly) last season, he showed he has some talent... and almost too much size.

I woulndn't count him out just yet, but I also am not counting on him.  I am counting on Howard... we need a PG in there, and he is every bit a true PG, in every possible way.

When Cann got hurt in high school, he blew up like a 19 year old Russian mail order bride.  Obviously, conditioning goes hand in hand with recovery, I'm not holding my breath for him.

  5. No way do I see collin dennis in him... Saaka is closer to a SF than a PG or SG.  He is 6'5 or 6'6 220.

    Dennis was 6'3 185.

Dennis was a PG in HS, and was a true SG, more similar to bozeman, except that bozeman is much quicker.

Dennis was a tremendous defender, which is the only thing I see in common with what I expect from Saaka.

I am less worried about Howard than I am Cann.  Cann, if he ever got healthy, could be a huge asset.  A PF that can shoot the long ball.

I feel howard will be alright, but knock on wood, just in case.

More interesting input, thanks.  Cann would be hard to see making any contribution, is he even on the radar to play this year?

  6. You are missing that he is a freshman.  You are spoiled by how great Bozeman is going to be, and you haven't even seen him play his true position SG.  He's stuck at PG right nwo.

Saaka is a stronger version of Mattis, only he has more range, but doesn't have the hops.  He's a valuable piece of the puzzle.  This kid was unstoppable in HS, and will be a solid contributor for us.

There is injury question mark with Curry, of course, but I don't think you'll have to wait more than 1 more week to get the question answered on Howard.  Jan 10th... be at the dome!  USF vs Lville.

Interesting input,  I see more Colin Dennis in Saaka, than McHugh, and in the games i've seen, I haven't seen the range. granted, bozeman is unique in his poise, I'll give u that one, but i'll be praying between now and the 10th that poor Howard's knees hold up, that kid has been through a ton - however,  I saw on ESPN today a story on Frank Gore who's had 2 ACLs and 2 shoulder operations and still lead the conference in rushing............so I've still got hope!

  7. Awesome... great pickup.

Still need to find some more bigs, but the guards we've gotten have been very good, and talented:

    Bozeman

Saaka (<-- i guess technically he is a forward)

    Dominique Jones

    Dante Curry

    Chris Howard

    Aaron Holmes

Bozeman, I agree, but Saaka has showed nothing this year, what am I missing?  Seems like lots of injury questions again (Howard, Curry), but at least we've got some numbers to start with.

  8. If Marve does sign with 'Bama, there is risk on his part;  he may not fit into the scheme 'Bama may run.  Also, Saban may want a different type of QB than Marve and may not pursue him like Shula did.

If I were a coach recruiting against Saban, his short-term coaching stints with several teams is something I would strongly point-out.

I'm sure saban was given the marching orders to save this year's recruiting season at all costs.  I'm sure whatever he says to Marve or Ford OB is a far greater promise than anyone at usf would ever hand out.
