  1. Headline on ESPN News: "Rich Rodriguez denies Alabama report"... Rod says he has not talked to anyone at Alabama and no one has talked to him. He also takes a jab at Internet message boards rumors but says that's how it is in the tech age. Anyway, Rod is not going to Bama... Except maybe to recruit Pat White's little brother, Coley.
  2. Why FSU? Rod has very close ties with the Bowdens. There has been some talk for a couple years now that Rod might like to go to FSU when Bobby retires. Also pure speculation. But due to Rod's relationship with the Bowdens I think it might be a possibility. Better possibility than him going to Bama anyway.
  3. Pure speculation at this point. Personally I would be shocked if Rod left for Bama. He is a WV native. His family still lives there, his wife's family still lives there. He said just 3 weeks ago when he was mentioned for the UNC job that he wasn't going anywhere. Not to mention the fact that WVU returns just about everyone next year. The only job I could ever foresee him leaving WVU for would be the Pittsburgh Steelers or Florida State.
  4. Just wanted to stop by and say congrats to you guys for a great win. No excuses. You guys took it to us and were the better team Saturday. USF absolutely dominated the LOS and that was the difference I think. You guys did something that no team has been able to do for two years now - stop our running game. I didn't think it was possible to completely bottle up both White and Slaton (sometimes teams have been able to stop one but not the other) but you guys did it. When Coach Leavitt started choking up during the post game interview I almost was happy for you guys. Almost. You could tell how much this win meant to him. He seems like a real classy guy and I hope you can hang on to him. As for us, I'm not sure where we go from here. We still have one more against Rutgers and then the bowl game. It will be interesting to see if this young WVU team can bounce back from this. As for next year, we return basically everyone so I think we will be OK. I live in Cape Coral and was at RayJay for last year's game. I had a great time and enjoyed the game thoroughly, and I can't wait to do it again next year. Best of luck in your bowl game.
  5. Thanks. Just got back home myself (I live in Cape Coral). Most of the USF fans I ran across were very friendly. Except the one guy who told me 'congratulations on winning the watered down big east'. lol... But I saw a few USF fans chanting BCS along with us in the 4th quarter, which was pretty cool. I was impressed with your team. You gave us a tough game although I think most WVU fans knew this would be no cakewalk. Good luck in your bowl game.
  6. Actually, you wouldn't have gotten the whole $14 million. The BE splits all bowl revenue. The conference champ gets the biggest cut, but it's no where near $14 million. Someone on the WVU board said we'll get $2.8 mil.
  7. WVU fan here. I'm actually disappointed that you guys lost. I have tickets to the game and I was looking forward to a big-game atmosphere and a national spotlight on what would've been the de facto Big East Championship Game. But I'm still looking forward to the game and I hope we can stay motivated. Hang in there and don't bail on your team. You guys have a bright future.
  8. I know. I'm right in the middle of that effing cone. Well, I've got a hotel reserved for Saturday... I was planning on staying the night after the game... I might come up there anyway even if there isn't a game on Sat. just to get away from the storm.
  9. Sunday would be better, but I would definitely drive up from Cape Coral for a Monday game. I'd probably be one of the few WVU fans there... I doubt many people can change their travel plans on such short notice. :-/
  10. Thanks for the kind words... but we've never won a national championship in football. We've come close though in '88 & '93. But yeah, it must be amazing for USF fans to have watched how far your program has come so fast. Most WVU fans are really happy to have you guys in the BE. Good luck this weekend... if Wilma stays away that is.
  11. I'm not a big fan of the 2 QB system, but this is definitely one of the advantages. White has gotten plenty of action in high-pressure situations, so there won't be any dropoff in production. In fact, if I had to take one over the other I'd take White. He's faster and throws just as well as Bednarik, IMO. I like Bednarik's toughness, but for whatever reason the team just seems to respond better when White is in the game.
  12. Winning out definitely won't be easy for us. We've got you guys first and foremost. I've seen you guys play a couple of times, and you clearly have the talent to beat us. We've got UConn at home under the lights, and for some reason we play incredibly well at night so I feel pretty confident about that one. Cincy looks like a W but they have played us tough in the past. Pitt is our biggest rivalry and when it comes to the "Backyard Brawl" you can just throw out the records. Hopefully we can get it done but there's still a long way to go.
  13. Actually you guys pass more than we do. On the season, 150 attempts for USF vs. 126 for WVU. We love to run so a sloppy field suits us just fine.
  14. WVU fan here. Looking forward to our game next week. I grew up in WV but I live in Cape Coral now so I'll be making the drive up to Tampa next weekend. Yeah, that was quite a game. Probably our greatest comeback at Mountaineer Field since '84 against Flutie & BC. It was such an emotionally charged game that I hope we don't have a letdown against you guys. We're also pretty banged up right now... 2 starting DBs, a backup RB, and starting NT are all out, plus our starting QB and safety got dinged pretty good tonight. You guys opened our eyes when you beat UofL, so we're expecting another war next weekend.
