12,500 actual bodies in the stands for a home bowl game.
This program’s fan support is dead.

The idea that we’re firing Strong is comical. We knew this would be a rebuilding year. Let’s see how 2019 goes. Realistically, 2020 might be in the table unless it all goes to hell.
I support Strong!

I’ll take this over the dumpster fire seasons of Holtz or even Taggart.

We fired Jim after an 8-5 season so we do fire winners. While the Miller scandal was the final straw but Leavitts mid season swoons in confer play was becoming tiresome and change was desired. We all felt it. The miller thing just provided the catalyst and an out clause for firing him. I love Jim but Our was tired of the swoons. If coach strong continues this trend next year I will be on the fire him band wagon. With no change at defense or on offense then he needs to coach elsewhere.
We fired Jim because he beat a player.

Did you like Stan Heath’s offense and Chris Cosh’s defense too?

I used to take my young neices and nephews to the games before i moved away. It was great. A few of them even became students. Great memories.
I've always thought it would be a great idea for our fans, fraternities, etc to team up and sponsor a local school and roll out the red carpet for one child and parent each week. Let the teacher pick which child to reward. Then set it up where they are picked up, brought to pregame events, the game, then home. It would build the fanbase from the ground up and provide good PR at same time. The cost could be spread out between a group. The Bullspen could sponsor one child/parent combo.
Anyone over 13 would be a NCAA violation

It looks like crap and is a rip-off for the taxpayers

If you think GA used those actual attendance figures the same way JK does you're kidding yourself ...

Greg used to report these same numbers, no one batted an eye.
Joey does it, everyone flips.

Sorry. Two games in UF and they still cancelled. Only intensifies my point.

Regardless, instead of being a pedantic baby how about you simply realize that we haven't gotten the Gators to PLAY outside of the swamp. Period. They're scheduled to. Many schools drop the second game after playing their home game. I'm saying not to take it for granted that it happens.
That said, it's likely that it does happen since it's 2-1 and is/was a coup of a signing.
It was a mutual cancelling. They pushed once. We pushed the second time. Then we both called it.
Regardless, we’ve got a new series with them.

You mean the guy that hired Taggart? We can get into the Holtz thing all over again if you like, but that hire on paper wasn't horrible. It worked out horribly but sometimes things don't go as planned. Doug was a personable guy and didn't alienate people. Big donors still hang out and socialize with him even though he's been gone years. You can ask those same people how they feel about the guy that is now leaving. Not saying he didn't make some mistakes along the way but the relationship between donors and AD was better under his regime.
He overspent on Olympic sports and ignored football despite CJL and CSH begging for more money.
I don’t care who he hired. There is more to a program than a hire.
-
We need to hire someone to focus on our non-revenue sports like Woolard did to drive out football program into the mat.

You get a chance to get UF in your own building, you take the 2 and 1.
Im sure there are some major concessions by USF to make this happen, but it’s easily the most popular team in the state and one of the most popular in the country.
I like it

I assume the contract states the game will be played at RayJay. We're probably giving them 30,000 tickets too. Whatever it takes. GO BULLS!
Yeah even if we have an OCS by then I’m sure they have it in the contract...maybe even part of the gate.
Hopefully Bulls fans show

I didn’t see this answered in the thread...anyone know how they tracked an exact number without tickets or turnstiles?
Turnstiles don't often keep attendance at non-revenue sports (or even minor league). They just guesstimate.
im guessing USF did that here
- a guesstimator for a major D-1 school.

Guesstimate.
Thats how most attendance is kept at the college level.

So any observations on QB play? Or RB? Anyone distance themselves?
It's a spring game. If we're making decisions on a depth chart based on the play during it, we're effed

It is what it is, and there is always an excuse. Lightning, Rowdies (sure), a new comic book movie, wind at a slight gust, SARS outbreak.
Realistically, it's a dumb spring game, that means squat.
What does matter is that we had a top 25 team last year, and drew like we were Akron. That has to change, on campus or off.
-
Always throw all your chips on the spring game..

The thing is he isn’t lazy if it’s not USF related. Him hanging out in Tally and doing this extra stuff shows that he is capable of going above and beyond. He just acts like anything pertaining to USF is beneath him. I have no problem with him as a person, but as a professional journalist he sucks.
Everyone hated on our past beat writer for breaking stories.

Literally just explained that the “frats” have nothing to do with this. 🙄
To be fair, you’re entitled to your opinion, but if you weren’t/aren’t a part of it, you can’t objectively say what has more value over the other.
People pay insane amounts of money for many frivolous things. One would think that making an investment in friends and experiences has more value than a myriad of said “frivolous” things. And that’s not to mention that we’re talking about a non-conference “cupcake” game.
I was in a fraternity for a bit. I quickly realized it was ********. This is a perfect example.

Going to a Bulls football game >>>>>>>> paying insane amounts of money for friends and tshirts.
The frats should force move the dates.

I love all the excuses.
There were 15, 000 tickets distributed or sold. The rain wasn’t chasing that man fans.
