WMU wins it's theirs.

Herman is going to Texas.

Keep winning we'all be ranked. It's probably the "best win" analysis. It's not how I'd rank them, but again, many of the computers don't have us ranked either so...
As far as talking playoffs next year. With our schedule, even an undefeated USF is going to need help. But let's not worry about that right now
-
Certainly not oursude the realm of possibility...that being said
The history of this message board leaves no middle ground for many. The majority sets their sights on an undefeated season, and immediately starts crying when we lose one.
i mean we're not even through 2016, we could still win the AAC why do this **** now?

The Big 12 is **** this year, AAC undoubtedly better...that being said, no team in the AAC is anywhere near the national picture.
Until we are, and consistently, this stigma will exist.
The Big 12 is 1 season off having two one loss teams.

You want "fairness" across the board? Eliminate the caste system.
You really think we'd be in a better position? Or that it would be more fair? Look how things were for small schools prior to thE postseason reform in the early 90s...

Note: Looks like we passed Troy in the coaches

I wouldn't.
Troy plays in the Sun Belt. Their SOS is garbage. The committee will recognize this.
SDSU has a terrible lost to South Alabama, who up until yesterday was WINLESS in sun belt play (0-4).
We don't have any bad losses.
I truly believe the only thing we would need to play in the Cotton bowl is 1. Win out, 2. Temple lose, and 3. Western Michigan lose. That's it. Nothing else. We have a top 25 win to our credit. The others don't. We also have a much stronger SOS than the others do.
Someone said Boise could be back in it if Wyoming lost. Wrong. Wyoming would need to lose at least twice in final four games to work way back into it...and that's if Boise went undefeated. If Boise lost again, Wyoming would need to lose THREE of final 4 games. Boise is toast.
SDSU will also likely lose to Wyoming in Laramie later. At least it's a good possibility.
Who knows, we'll find out shortly, but all the polls have Troy and SDSU above us. SOS exists, but they aren't using any computer polls. Having 2 losses compared to another 1 loss G5 school is going to make this close, no matter what league they're in.

And we need to run the table
And beat Navy (likely) again
And a Western Mich lost
And hope Wyoming doesn't lose again because then Boise would win and be ahead of us
and and and and
Yeah, I'd add SDSU and Troy to that list.

Wrong. SDSU lost to South Alabama who is 0-4 in the Sun Belt.
And they're receiving votes. If they win out they'll be ranked.

Troy's only loss was to Clemson, by a single score. Not saying a NY6 isn't possible but we need a lot to go our way

I have not seen anything that states this. Please provide a link or source where you got this info from.
CJL reportedly was not cooperating with the investigation. Often, the cover up is worse than the crime.
Again, please provide a source or link for this, because the hiring and firing of coaches is usually the AD's job.
First point: I wasn't just Judy, it was all the Big East presidents voting to reject ESPN's deal and go to the open market. What a bad idea in hindsight.
Second point: The fact that CJL hasn't been hired as a head coach since leaving here speaks volumes about how he handled that situation. He's gone. Move on.

Houston mailing it in? I have to imagine every school who might be looking for a head coach has been knocking on Hermans door

A DC ain't completely fixing the current talent.

Maybe most but not me. Go back over the last two weeks and I said this was an 8-4 team that got fat on a weak schedule. The offense is good enough to win just about every game and the defense is bad enough to lose half.
I agree with you. I think a lot on here got starry eyed over some wins over subpar opponents. I just had a bit of a back and forth yesterday with someone who thought we'd blow out Boise State which was an asinine statement.
I believe some on here need to either temper their expectations/view points OR not blow up on the team when they don't meet their insanely inflated expectations.
This team is still pretty good and could win out, they can certainly lose a couple too, but they are good enough be win every game.

What the he'll? Do you think Wuerrfel or Dannu Kanell would say **** like this? Come on Matt.

A few days ago we were running the table hosting the AAC championship, and playing in a the Cotton Bowl.
Now we're awful and will struggle to win most of our remaining games.
Can't anyone enjoy the freaking fact that it's the end of October and we have a shot of winning 10 games? Can anyone enjoy the fact that we still have a shot of the AAC still?
The loss sucks and we no longer control our destiny but We were awful for 4 years and are finally swinging back up.
It seems like so many just want everything.
Complain about the play calling, the defense, whatever. That's fine...but don't **** all over the team because they didn't meet your overinflated expectations.

BYU is no world beater and has an awful offense. Yet was right in the game. We would destroy them.
Yeah...I wouldn't go that far. We haven't exactly beaten anyone either.
it would be a great game though.

Bye bye cotton bowl hopes
Still a shot, there is a lot of season left. Probably need Boise to lose to a really bad team if they're going to lose though.

Our first "Bowl Game" will be on 12/3/16, hopefully at RayJay. The next one, any bowl vs P5, so why not the Cotton Bowl?
It's going to take a lot for us to get there. Even if Houston doesn't make the conference title game, a 1 loss Houston with a win over Oklahoma and Louisville will get that spot. We'd probably also need Boise State to lose twice. And western Michigan at least once.
You never know, but I think there is a lot to get in that picture.

It's the system most schools use. I know it sucks, but it's standard. Money talks. Especially if you're giving 10k a year

Our resume is as good, if not better than several top 25 teams. We just don't have a marquee name.
Not doubting that. It's our name.

We won't get the love we want for a bit. Our best win is 3-3 Cincy and we got destroyed by the only viable team we played.
regardless, win out and we're in a great position.
