  1. To add insult to injury, not only does Uconn have a losing record, but three of our wins came at the hands of 1-10 teams and one of those was a Div. 1AA team. We also have on our resume that we beat Army and USF. Even if we beat an injury plagued Louisvile team, our resume will likely not be good enough to get a bowl invitation. The weather was why you lost? Pulease. Yep, it was the cold that caused that holding penalty that negated a 74 TD pass. That was ultimately the game right there. I suppose it was a bad call..... UCONN RULES !!!! Last one who wins RULES. Man you guys like to change the conditions to fit them in your favor. So Uconn has to beat Louisville to prove we are better than you. We just freaking tore your hearts out and UCONN still has something to prove? DW
  2. They did feel badly. I took pleasure in seeing them throwing their helmets and rolling arond on the ground like they just had their hearts torn out. Yep, the team that beat you was inferior AND that inferior team played like crap on offense as well. Now I thought that would make you feel better You lost to an inferior team that was not even nearly on top of their game. I guess some of you should be on suicide watch. DW
  3. Your offense gave it away? How about your special teams giving up a TD to a kick returner returning kicks for his first time? How about your defense giving up a TD to a running back that at tailback is not even on the depth chart. He ran right by two USF players standing around clueless. It was 3rd and short and USF had everyone up onthe line. Yet, Lou Allen ran through you untouched. That is inexcusable. As for your little tyrant there. You obviously know little about Uconn. Perhaps in a future post I'll correct all the errors, but for now I can understand why you would be having a tantrum right now. Just don't understand why USF players would act the way the did after the game. That was classless and does nothing for USF's image. By the way, UCONN rules..... Were YOUR DADDY now DW
  4. Thanks for the congrats. As bad as USF played, Uconn just as badly. It was a filled with mistakes and missed opportunities by both teams. However, the key was that goal line stand.... the one that never happened. I believe it was 4th down on the one yard line and who knows what play was called. Your QB went to go under center, but before he got his hands down the center snapped the ball and the QB could only fall on the ball. They caught a break when they got the movement before the snap penalty which gave them another chance on the six yard line. Seeing there was six minutes to play, why your coach chose to go for it using a gadget play rather then take the field goal and only be down two is mind boggling. If you have no confidence that your offense can get it down without trickery, then the FG would have been a no brainer. This win was big for Uconn. That should say something for the USF program. USF's future is bright. DW
  5. I too wondered why they didn't go for the FG when they were backed up to the 5 yard line. Then they tried that gimmic. Okay, perhaps try the reverse, but did they really think Uconn was going to be fooled by that pass play? That deep in the endzone, none of the Uconn defenders would have had a reason to leave their assignments. None of them likely saw or knew where the ball was in the backfield so they would have still been playing their assignments. It was messed up call. Your coach let us off the hook big time. However, USF should not have even been in that position. Uconn needs to find a new punter - just awful.... DW
  6. Our QB and offense sucked and I was screaming for Edsall to get our QB off the field. Turns out he was injured in the first half. Uconn's defense and two big plays won the game for Uconn. Thanks for the congrats just the same. The first big play - USF burned by our FB Lou Allen who was lines up in the "I" formation as a tailback. We were in a short yardage power formation and have our #1 and #2 fullbacks lined up in the "I". Allen simply ran between two USF defenders. It wasn't great blocking and it must have looked to Allen like the Red Sea was parting. The hole was huge and the funny thing is that USF should have seen that run BETWEEN the tackles coming. Second big play - USF gets burned by a Kickoff returner that is not even on the special teams depth chart. Darius Butler was named player of the game for that KO return, interception and awesome defense. DW
  7. I was at the game. USF did not look superior at all. As a matter of fact, both teams sucked. The difference was that Uconn wanted to win that game a little more ...... oh my, that can not be right, what about all those USF players having a temper tantrum at mid field after the game was over. What a bunch a sour losers and babies. Hmmm, you kind of sound like you could have thrown your helmet and rolled around there like an idiot with the rest of the Bulls....... "USF was clearly the better team" - Exactly how did you come up with that conclusion? DW
  8. AMEN BROTHER !!! ........ thanks a lot for under cutting me and taking Uconn as well. Now not only does Uconn have to win, they have to win big. I figured I would be the ONLY dumbass to pick Uconn in this one. Seeing that I really don't expect a Uconn rout, I think my chances of winning the Lottery have now much improved over winning this contest. Thanks a lot MavTech :
  9. Don't worry Velcro, as long as USF doesn't try to do too much with a play, if it ain't there on THAT play, it will be on the next. Uconn played very good defense against Pitt, but I think USF is a bigger challenge. I expect USF to get stuffed a couple of plays and then Hall will break a big one - just as the scenario played out in Morgantown. So as long as USF is patient and takes what is given and holds onto the ball, I do not expect there will be any turnovers. Also, Uconn has no pass rush whatsoever. Unless the play man to man and bring up their linebackers, they can not stop the run or create a pass rush. If your coaching staff calls the game right, USF will be able to use its awesome weapons to take advantage of Uconn's vulnerabilities. This one should be an easy W for USF. I'll eat my shorts if Uconn finds the will & luck to win this one. DW
  10. YOU ALL ARE ON CRACK!!! UCONN 44-10 600 Hall Uconn is going to kick your ass. The ONLY exciting thing about USF coming to town is your lovely cheerleaders. I predict 600 yards in offense and 450 of those will be made by the Huskies. It's going to be too cold for USF to hold on to the ball. Hall will have to catch the ball as USF plays catch up the whole game. So I predict Hall will be your leading receiver - 60 yards tops. Make sure the Bulls come out wearing their pants - too chilly for skirts. Besides, it's a mans game and you are about to enter a man's domain. Huskies will dominate!! If I win this contest it will be like winning the lottery. I look forward to cashing in DW
  11. Well Mission9, you were true to your word and you gave your prediction in November. I am surprised by the score you came up with. I likely will get more answers when I look on your USF fan forum game thread. I have to say JimUSFSig was right on the money with his Husky assessment last spring. Our young OL has not played well and we have been forced to play a freshman QB we had hoped to redshirt. It has been a disasterous season for the Husky's ofense. Caulley is having a subpar year due to he has not fully recovered from ACL surgery. He had also suffered nerve damage in the knee and he simply has not been the same back he was before the knee injury. Brockington can rush between the tackles, but not if there is no hole to run through. The OL is not giving Brockington anything to work with. And Bulliever, it is going to be in the mid 30's and breezy. It is going to be uncomfotable for the home folk never mind the visitors. What do I think about Uconn? I think they have pretty much folded up their tents and have called it a season. Edsall was furious after the Pit loss and questioned the heart of many players - especially the upperclassmen. He stated the team is not stong enough yet to play at this level. We are mostly Frosh and Sophs. USF did well to redshirt some of their best players last year. I expect USF to come in and dominate the Huskies. We are so banged up physically and mentally that I don't give us much of a chance. USF really needs this win badly and will be playing with fire in the belly so the cold should not be a factor. I will be at the game drinking lots of hot chocolate. For those coming to the game, come with mooney, the people that run the stadium (MSG) will not even let you in with a bottle of water - so leave the thermos in the car. Good luck USF and I hope to see you crack the top 25 be seasons end. DW
  12. I am glad the whole process is behind us now. Now we just have to live with the bashing and heckling the entire BB season. DW
  13. Very insightful post. So that is the reason Uconn lost to Rutgers? Oh, so you are still upset that USF lost to Pitt are you. Are you sure it was because USF played poorly? COming from C-USA, to say Uconn has not played anyone is the kettle calling the pot black. I am being nice here. You really wouldn't want to know what I really feel about your post..... DW
  14. Uconn. Because you will learn to hate our attitude :-* DW
  15. Hey guys, It has been awhile since I have visited. I have not forgotten this great place, just have been busy and don't get to post on my favorites boards as much as I would like. Well, if I was a betting man, I'd put my money on Rutgers covering the spread. Even a healthy Uconn team would have had a tough time with Rutgers. We just do not match up well with them. Rutgers strengths are our weakness. I predicted RU would beat us before the season began. Then two weeks ago I had us even due to Rutgers had more players out than Uconn. Well, Uconn was beat up by Cincy (still scratching my head how that could have happened) and I really give Uconn little chance of winning today. Ya, it is homecoming. We have key players hurt. Uconn's remaining 105 players will come in fired up behind a raucus crowd. However, as hard as I expect Uconn to play today, and as loud and crazy as I'll be at the game rooting them on, I expect RU will take control of this game. Uconn has always been a conservative ball controlling offense. That is not going to change with Brown in the game. The difference is that RU will know it and blitz or put 8 in the box. Brown will be forced to do more than he will likely be capable of. This is either going to be a low scoring game or Uconn is going to lose by 2 or 3 TDs. Both defensives will dominate the lne of scrimmage. However, Leonard is going to wear us out and RU will have more opportunitiues in the 2nd half. RU defensive line is going to mow down the Huskies and it is likely going to be a long day and tough yards gained by the Uconn offense. The question, can Uconn generate more than 100 yards of total offense? Will it even keep it in positive yard numbers? Uconn's secondary has lost two key starters. We also start a true freshmen at strong safety. We have one starting linebacker out and the other is likely to play with a neck stinger. Look for Teel to get just enough pass protection to find RU's talented receivers for big gains. Wish us luck!!! DW
  16. Can USF beat Miami? Miami is also vulnerable and I could see USF taking this momentum gained from beating the #9 school in the nation and whoop the Canes. Congrats to the Bulls!! I am now looking froward to the Bulls coming North. I wasn't expecting much of a contest, but now I see that Uconn will have to actually prepare for when the Bulls come to take their medicine. The BigeastBoards.com is buzzing about the game. I would be particularly interested in knowing your thoughts concerning why USF REALLY was invited to the BE(currrent discussion on BE Bigeastboards.com in Big East talk - what is the delay with the Liberty bowl and others). Many contend it was to help nothern schools recruit in Florida. I contend it was because the BE had to take a chance that USF could become another Miami for the BE. After yesterday, the gamble doesn't appear to be the laugher the critics expected. USF has shown they can play with the big boys and recruits looking at staying in Florida will see it as well. Some on the BE boards think the BE took a shot to the chin having its only rated tem get their arses kicked. Again, I don't see it as a bad thing over the long run although it definately stings this year. Is there a Bull fan here that can be objective enough to express what you think the impact of the USF win will have on the BE this year? If USF can only beat Miami and win BE games, then a top 20 rating would not be out of the question. How many believe that? Congrats to the Bulls on a great win!! DW
  17. Palko was hurried and beat up that entire game. Ya, he played poorly, but the offensive line has to give him time to make the play. I also would like to credit the Ohio defense for Pitt's demise so I am willingly to cut Palko some slack. DW
  18. They talk about the change Solich has brought to the Ohio program. They say the Ohio players are having fun and are buying into what Solich is doing. I saw a Ohio team last night that looked united and well prepared. Even afer that kickoff return for a TD, Ohio played spirited ball. It was in the second QTR when I realized that Ohio had a chance to win this game. It was amazing to see Ohio play so well. Pitt was definitely caught off guard and their coach is soley responsible for once again not having his team ready to play. I don't think all the blame can be put on Palko. The Pitt's offensive line was porous and couldn't block on the running plays either. It is going to be a very long seaon if Pitt can not get their offensive line to play better. I was amazed that five guys that average 320 lbs. could be pushed around like that by a mid to low level MAC team. Truly amazed. My hats off to Ohio as they deserved to win. However, the Big East needs others to step up right now. GO BULLS !!!! DW
  19. They may not have fire Dave - he may just quit. I was just on Rivals.com and there are already 200 posters on line there. Perhaps they have been there all night. Tons of posts - too many to read. I really feel sorry for Pitt fans and I am not feeling to good about it either. Pitt was supposed to be one of the BE anchors this year. The BE is now in trouble and we need others to step up. Hopefully USF can continue to play well. BRING BACK WALT !!!!! DW
  20. I have to give those fans credit for staying until the 3rd quarter. I couldn't watch any more half way through the 2nd quarter. It was hard seeing one of the projected best Big East schools this year go down so hard. It was shocking. DW
  21. Here is an example of a typical Rutger fans reaction to yesterday's game. This ones from the Bigeastboards.com, but I read that the Rutgers fan forum on Rivals is a psych ward as well. Man it is tough to be a Rutgers fan :'( http://www.bigeastboards.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=1899 Rutgers I think needs a new coach or at least Schiano needs better assistants. Clock management at the end of the game while nursing a 7 point lead was not a consideration. Also, it was a no brainer that you should go for it on 4th down and a foot in the Illinois red zone. Instead, Schiano sends in Ito to kick a chippy only to have him miss. There were so many little things that RU failed to do that they simply gave this game away. Will Rutgers ever get beyond potential and actually start winning? It is so frustrating. On the otherhand, USF seems to be heading in a very positive direction. DW
  22. Well this has not turned out to be a good day for the BE. Rutgers let their game slip away and I just got the final score here for the USF game. I was not able to see it here in CT. I thought the game was on ESPN and was pissed to find out that it wasn't.  Sounds like USF represented the BE well however. Looking at the stats and the final score, it appears USF played well. Sorry that you lost. However, losing to PSU , with one of the best defenses in the nation, isn't all that bad.  On the other hand, there are likely many Rutger fans right now being talked down from their rooftops. DW ÂÂ
  23. Thanks ET I am enjoying the Rutgers game right now, but at 3:30 I'll be watching USF. GO BIGEAST!!! DW
  24. Well atleast two of us. I thought I'd share our thoughts with you all;)  I don't think USF has a shot in hell at beating PSU, but oh how sweet it would be if I was wrong ...... http://www.bigeastboards.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=1892 I'll be watching the game today. Have my beer and remote and the den doors will be locked. Today is Big East FOOTBALL..... tomorrow too. Best wishes to the Bulls, go kick some arse ??????????? DW
