Bynum is saying now that he will not keep his name in the draft if he isn't projected to be a lottery pick. Many think he will go in the low twenties of the first round. He is big, but only 17. Why would he be worried about the 20 year rule? Stupid excuse for saying he is entering the draft if you ask me. If he was 19, then ya, but this kid simply was talked into it by someone. It all comes down to how well Bynum does in tomorrows private NBA workout. He will make his final decision once he hears how he performed and what the level of interest is in him. I predict he will be a Husky. The kid already has a questionable knee. He is young and is a project. He needs time to mature before going pro. However, he IS 7' 280 lbs. SO who knows DW

Why would I want to do that? I am on a Bigeast forum right here? Tell your friends to come here if you think they won't like what I have to say. Quite frankly, I think little of your Cardinals and their overly confident expectations. I would rather have seen the University of Kentucky in the Big East. Andrew Bynum?? ::goodbye:: Uconn will do just fine without him. He was going to be a backup this year anyway. How does a kid get drafted to the NBA when he isn't even good enough to start for a college team? Something is very wrong with the system when this kind of thing is allowed to happen. I say let him go now. Why should Uconn invest the time to mold this kid if he will only stick around for one or two years. Same goes for Charlie, he could have made a name for himself here at Uconn, but he decided it was too risky to remain a Husky. He hasn't exactly dominated in the college game and likely felt he was better off getting what he could now before he was considered a complete bust. Uconn is still strong down low with Boone and Armstrong. Rudy Gay is going to be phenominal. No one will be able to stay with this kid. A freaking nightmare matchup for anyone who has to play him. Uconn will be strong at guard and at the wing positions and good enough down low to be national champions once more in 2006. Go Huskies !!!! Bye bye Bynum. DW

I dunno Bulliever ??? Perhaps it was the funeral procession after Jonathan the VI's funeral? It is a very sad looking Mascot :-/ I was referring to the real dog, but you raise an interesting question. I'll have to do some more research to see if any costumed mascots died during their tenure. Now that the story is out on the bear caper, have a changed your mind about who has the most ferocious mascot? Certianly isn't that red feathered yellow toothed Cardinal thing ........ DW

Gocards, thanks for stopping by the Bullspen. I guess I will extend the hand and welcome you to this forum. Everyone must be on vacation here What is that Jonathan thing you ask. Well, it is a white Siberian Husky outfit. I believe it is a girl inside the outfit. The customed mascot  came about in 1964 when Jonathan V (the real dog -5th of 12 total) became "shell shocked" and was unable to tolerate the noise at games. Here's his pic They replace him that year with a costumed mascot who looked real sad. They got a new dog, Jonathan the VI, but he died young from injuries inflicted by an automobile so the costumed mascot had to stay on for another year. However, they made the new costumed mascot look much more ferocious. There costumed mascot became popular with the fans so Uconn retained botht ehreal Husky and the beanie baby creation. In all, 3 or 4 Jonathan's died by automobile accident. More on the on the link to Bigeastboards.com. Here is a picture of the currrent Jonathan. This is Jonathan the Xii Jonathan I was a black and white Husky, but all huskies there after were all white. Jonathan II was the dog that actually gave the Uconn mascot its ferocious image. In 1936 it chased the Brown's Bear mascot up a tree. They had to call the fire dept. to get the bear out of the tree. How many mascots can claim doing that? So why the square teeth GoCards? What 's up with that? DW

In the spirit of reconciliation between the Bullspen and ProboardBigEast, I have decided to modify my comments peviously posted. Hopefully, the problems you have experienced have been resolved. The Proboard members have been cooperative with our board when asked to stop certain practices. We are currently investigating to see if our membership was contacted in a similar way. However, it is my hope that such practices have not occurred on our forum and if they have then hopefully it will stop as well. I have no desire to visit that forum in the future. As for the Bullspen.com, I love this place. I have put several links to your board on most all of our forums and I have encouraged our members to sign up here and post. I look forward to having a great relationship with the Bullspen. If anyone experiences any problems whatsever with one of our members, please contact our administrator. Gary, I am impressed you remember that play. You all here are truly sports fanatics. Ya, that was a bad call, but that is part of the game. It should never have come to that. Too many off the court distractions and lost chemistry did the Huskies in. They were in a grove leading up the the tournament and this mess happened with Kellogg. First he was suspended for getting into an arguement over playing time after the Syracuse win and then he gets arrested for drug possession and resisting arrest. Rashad Anderson coming back was supposed to be a spark, but proved to be another distraction as the Huskies stopped doing what they had been prior to his return. Even had the Huskies won that game, they were going no where. Velcro and Bulliever, you two should take your comedy show on the road. That lightbulb joke was real funny :: Well, perhaps not THAT funny By the way, Espn is reporting that all 5 players have been suspended indefinately. Uconn does not put up with that crap, not even half, although Miami would likely put up with twice that. Danged convict U..... DW
