  1. you must have forgotten Kansas lost to a bible college. how about cincy losing to wofford? or providence to 1-5 brown? Jackson st beat someone in the BE. it happens all the time. uconn beat quinnipiac by 7. get over it. it was obvious USF had an off night and they were able to grind out a win.
  2. they are pretty young. 4 of top 5 scores are freshman. 5 of top 7 player minutes are too. only loss on the road. we'll be their next road game. should give us an advantage playing a young team on the road for the 2nd time.
  3. Herm, your boy r bush tore it up again yesterday. 45 all purpose yards. he's not even the best rookie on their team. 7th rounder from hofstra is better. he could become the most hyped punt returner in history. do you think j addai is better? how about maroney? I bet he has m vick syndrome. where he doesn't feel he needs to work hard because everybody tells him how great he is already. he'll start blaming his ineptness on everyone around him soon. how did r artest get into college????
  4. Absolutely, but its not hard to tell Reggie is faster than everyone else on the field.   how do you come to that conclusion? Was it his 11 carries for -5 yards against the lowly Bucs? Maybe his 2.8 ypc on the year? Don't believe everything ESPN tells you Herm. Start thinking for yourself. It's all sports propaganda! I bet you think M Vick is a top 3 QB too? Notice how they don't talk about that moronic trade Atlanta made anymore. They gave up a once in a lifetime running back for him. Just because ESPN shoves it down your throat doesn't mean it's true. Tell your buddy Dingleberry that his mighty red storm looked like a joke last night. They were lucky to keep it within 32. On their own home floor too. What's a red storm anyway? That's what I called my old girlfriend's mood about once a month!! ok 94 lets give you a little schooling on sports outside of the usf world.  The red storm is the name of st johns because they were forced to change it from the redmen, which stood for the original group of indians which saw new york city as a great port andplace for habitation.  Then the liberal media made them change a few years ago but who would expect you to know that.  stick to the bucaneers and your fellow bangwagon fans.  by the way where are all the bucs car magnets this year? pathetic fan base.  joke vs maryland yes, but maryland is going to be sick this year,m hope you are planning on getting your tix to the acc tourny in tampa in a few months, i know i have. Did you see the red storm play ranked texas, they got comletely screwed and lost by 1 but im sure you werent watching but would comment about how they lost.  Its funny you put down a team who produced players like chris mullin, mark jackson, ron artest, malik sealy (rip) and many others but if you asked a st johns fan what they thought about usf bball (and st johns is no good now due to probation the last few years, despise what trip and the BRAND NEW big east crew would say) they would still say WHO????  So lets earn some respect in the big east before putting down the johnnies.  94 since you know me so well and tell me to think for myself, i am the 1st to say mike vick is overrated but when i see game i see game. Reggie bush will be a star in the nfl, so you can join the team and go against anything smazza says but on this one and most others he is so right.  Bush will be ridiculous in the nfl for years to come.  Watcha game, im sure you havent watched one saints game besides the one against the garbage bucs, but sometimes #;s arent what they seem.  talk about propaganda.  Bush is like bo jackson in techmo bowl he doesnt run on the field he glides past everyone, give him time, i promise you that you will eat your words.  not a big bucs fan herm. look at r bush's ypc on the year. he finally cracked 3.0. maybe if he didn't have more fumbles than rushing td's I'd believe you know what you are talking about. the guy is all hype. he played on a a dominant team in college where every player on that team was far superior to their opponents. it probably didn't hurt him to have the kind of line he had or to have a heisman qb in the backfield with him or even another first round rb on his team. or stud receivers to open up the run. get a clue. we're they the same indians that sold manhattan for $24 worth of shiny gems? brilliant. nobody was forced. notice how most other teams didn't cave to the politically correct ncaa. funny if they were the Florida State red storm. nice to know you can see into the future. r bush may become a great talent. so far he's proven to be mediocre. he averages 30 yards rushing per game. 3.0 per carry. he has 4 fumbles on the year and 1 td. they say he can't run between the tackles and doesn't have the discipline to follow his blocks. only time will tell how great he'll be. dude, name one st john's player that didn't play in the 80's. quit living in the past. I only brought up st johns because you put them in with the likes of syracuse, uconn, and georgetown in a previous post. they obviously don't belong anywhere near that convesation. louie c is gone. get over it.
  5. I think the BE likes to schedule the projected top teams to play against each other late in the season. It worked out well this year with all of the undefeateds getting national attention. If we are top 4 then I expect us to play bottom 4 early in the season. WVU, UL and Rutgers late.
  6. no vision? hasn't developed his talent yet? doesn't break tackles? are you kidding? The kid is leading the NCAA in rushing. He averages nearly 8 yards per carry. The only one close to that is his own QB! He doesn't have to break tackles when he is 5 yards ahead of anyone chasing him. Our achilles is stopping the run. It will take a near perfect game to keep this game close.
  7. maybe we take ainge's 1-6 passing for 3 yards in the first quarter against LSU and project those for a full game ? 4-24 for 12 yards
  8. just letting you know what the numbers say rt. no need for insults. ainge played the entire first quarter against lsu. let's divide those numbers by 9.25. takes him out of the top 10 for both. why don't we throw out everybody's toughest 2 opponents and then recalculate? if anything this helped ainge greatly. much easier to put up gawdy numbers against the likes of kentucky and marshall than LSU or Ark.
  9. certainly better than Tenn did vs. air force or the #2 team in the SEC east did vs. (2-8)Lousianna-Monroe this week.
  10. Tennessee's trio of Robert Meachem, Jayson Swain, and Bret Smith would disagree...   UT had a top 10, maybe even top 5 passing offense before Ainge got hurt.  actually ainge ranked 22nd total offense in the country and 20th for passing per game. I guess he'd be considered top 5 in the country like LSU?? The team that needed OT to beat Ole Miss at home. How they still get all this respect is beyond me. Just another example of the mediocre SEC. At least UF got another quality OOC win at home! By the way Kentucky's qb ranks higher than ainge in both categories. huh?  http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?year=2006&div=4&rpt=IA_teampass&site=org UT is #12 passing offense, that is with a backup RS Freshman playing almost all of the game against LSU and the whole game against Arkansas now look at individual stats of ainge. you stated that Tenn was top 10 or top 5 with ainge. I simply pointed out this wasn't true. ainge is #22 total offense per game and #20 passing. maybe your passing offense is better with the freshman? http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?year=2006&div=4&rpt=IA_playertotoff&site=org http://web1.ncaa.org/d1mfb/natlRank.jsp?year=2006&div=4&rpt=IA_playerpass&site=org

  12. Isint it funny that you are anti USF if you dont support the direction this basketball team is going under coach Mac. But when Eddie C. was not doing well in baseball it was okay to want him fired? what direction is that? We're 2-0. I know you want to bury this team already but it is the 2nd freaking game of the season. Why don't you let the season play out before you tear our coach and players apart? At least wait until we lose a game!
  13. beating 3 top ten teams isn't a great schedule? You're joking right? Even if it ends up as 2 top ten it's pretty impressive. If UF wins out, they will not have beaten 1 top ten team. Michigan's schedule is tougher than OSU's in my opinion. OSU didn't have to play Purdue or Wisconsin, the next best 2 in conference opponents. ND is ranked higher than Texas. Wisconsin's is similar to OSU except the Texas game(big difference, I know) I think a case can be made for the loser of todays game to play a rematch for the national title before any other 1 loss team but USC if they win out. Especially Michigan. They would have lost to the #1 team. Beaten the #5 and #9 ranked teams. One of those an OOC game on the road.
  14. Absolutely, but its not hard to tell Reggie is faster than everyone else on the field.  how do you come to that conclusion? Was it his 11 carries for -5 yards against the lowly Bucs? 15. Gee, there's a novel concept.....BLITZES!!  Did we get that blitz chip installed in Burnham's brain yet? Did you see the way WVU came after Palko?  Holy cow!  8 sacks and a whole lot more QB hurries!  And would you look at the result? I think we were much more effective against Palko. against WVU he threw for 341 yds 2 TD 0 int. 75% completion . against us 159 yds 1 td 3 int 50% completion. I agree though we need to put pressure on Brian Happy Feet Brohm. I hope we come up with some nice disguised blitz packages.
  16. Honestly Joe I could care less about Florida. It's the flawed BCS system that I can't stand. For every arguement you make about a team belonging in the NC game there is just as valid an arguement against it. I thought you said you were a Gator fan? That hardly makes you objective concerning the SEC or UF. Did you know that U of L played against or will play the #4, #5, and #15 top defenses in the country? Looks pretty impressive compared to the #2, #11, and #19. Not only that but they played the #3 offense in the country. The highest ranked offense UF played was #11. I never said that Florida doesn't have a good team only that they aren't head and shoulders better than U of L. Certainly not so much better or more deserving that they should get a national championship shot over U of L. It's possible that the Cards will have played 9 bowl teams compared to the gators possible 10. Bowls really don't mean much anymore though. It looks like Alabama will get one with just 2 conference wins over Vandy and Ole Miss. It's also possible that the 4 top 25 teams will drop to 3 or maybe 2 with the schedules remaining. Any way it shakes out, the BCS is horrible. The rankings are so subjective and biased. The only way to truly see who is the best is to have a playoff.
  17. Sorry any 2 loss team that won't even play for their conference championship is not considered a top 5 team in the country. not even in the almighty SEC . Their only "quality" win is against UT. They barely won that game and UT is barely still ranked in the BCS top 25. OU should be ranked higher. Sure they have 2 losses but one of them was bogus. Why are they ranked 6 spots lower? Texas too. They lost to KSU and #1 OSU. They still have more wins against BCS top 25 teams. What about 1 loss Wake? why are they 5 spots lower than 2 loss LSU. They have as many wins against top 25 BCS teams. it's all subjective. You make a case for UT. Nebraska could be considered with losses coming to Texas, USC and Ok St. UT lost to 2 teams in the BCS top 10. I don't believe LSU is one of them. will you admit the SEC is mediocre if kentucky beats ut and finishes 2nd in the east? afterall u of l smoked them.
  18. What about U of L on the road against KSU? KSU just beat Texas. @ KSU, Miami, Kentucky (#2 team in SEC east), @ Middle tenn, @ Temple. Sounds a little tougher than UCF, S Miss, & Western Carolina at home and 5-5 FSU on the road.
  19. Why shouldn't U of L be considred right along with a 1 loss Florida team? U of L beat a top 10 BCS team. Florida hasn't. Their 1 loss is to a top 10 BCS team. Florida's wasn't. No offense but the top SEC teams play nobody out of conference. Most of their wins are against the bottom half of the conference and garbage OOC teams. The SEC is having a down year. It's obvious when a Kentucky team, that was blown out by  U of L 59-28, is in 2nd place of the SEC East this late in the season. Bull94, the SEC is probably going to have 9 eligible bowl teams and you're calling it a down year? Why isn't Louisville being considered with USC/UF/ND? Because they're currently ranked 10th in the BCS with no games left that will push them up in the computers. USC has Cal, ND, and UCLA Florida has FSU (whose projected 10th ranked SOS will help UF in comps) and Arkansas ND has USC (they have almost ZERO chance of getting in, unless Ohio State loses bad and a lot more happens) Rutgers has Cincy and WVU Louisville has us, Pitt, and UConn; of those three UConn, because of their high SOS will probably benefit them the most in the computers. Finally, it doesn't help that they lost so late. It's the nature of the beast though, ask ND. Hey Joe, I wasn't making a case for U of L over USC. I think if USC wins out then they would deserve it. I was making a case against Florida however. I don't care how many bowl eligible teams the SEC has. It's not all that difficult to become bowl eligible. Even in the SEC. Play a soft OOC schedule like Alabama and then win 2 conference games against Ole Miss and Vandy. That's all it takes. The SEC is pretty mediocre. Especially the East. There are 2 teams in the SEC east with better then .500 in conference records and one of them is Kentucky. The SEC has on of the highest ranked 1 loss teams, the highest ranked 2 loss team and the highest ranked 3 loss team. This is by reputation only. Hell Georgia beat what was supposed to be the #2 team in the SEC last week. This after losing to both Vandy and Kentucky. Now are the bottom feeders catching up or are the top teams having a down year? I don't know how FSU has the 10th toughest schedule? they play in the weak ACC. How about KSU? U of L beat them on the road. The same team that just beat the #3 team in the country. Tell me how many of the top SEC teams would travel to play such an OOC game on the road? I'm just pointing out how subjective it all is. Most of the SEC rankings are based on the assumption that the SEC is a power conference this year. We really don't know that to be the case.
  21. This is why I try to avoid these debates.  You have no idea what Tebow or Leak would do on this team, against our competition.  Hell, you don't even know what Tebow will do as the full-time starter at Florida.  For that matter, you don't know what Matt would do at UF. Tebow is a physical speciman and a tough runner, but we haven't seen him in situations where he is going to be forced to pass. No but I've seen what Leak and Tebow have done against some of the BEST teams in the country.  Besides the question isn't who's best for what team, it's who's the BEST, period.  Other factors don;t matter.  My point was leak especailly has played great against some very good defenses.  Imagine what he'd do against UCF, FIU, Cinci, Syracuse, Mcneese etc.  He'd destroy them.  What has Tebow done against some of the best teams in the country? He has 19 freaking passes in college. 11 completions. 2 TD passes. One shouldn't even be considered a pass, it was so ugly. The guy is a linebacker playing QB. Why are you so negative towards everything USF ?
  22. Dingleberry, You actually put St John's into the upper echelon of BE basketball. How crazy is that? It's not the mid-80s anymore. I was just pointing out what their records have been the last 3 years. Plain and simple. No excuses. It clearly shows they haven't done any better than USF. It's funny the excuses you will use to defend St John's poor record(****, cheating, etc) but when it comes to plain old injuries, illnesses and jumping up in conference you don't allow the same leeway for USF. In St Johns case those instances were completely in their control. Not so in USFs. Your arguements make you look even more foolish.
  23. Joe, I didn't say you thought Wright was better than Grothe. Ari Dingleberry said that. He also thought Weatherford was better. I only pointed out that Weatherford has been benched and wright is terrible. Not sure who he is refering to about T Smith but I never said Grothe was better. Matt still has some time left in college to improve though. I agree with you Joe. I think the stats show that Grothe is by far at least the 2nd best QB in the state. I don't care about potential. Only actual stats. Steve, you may be somewhat biased becasue I believe Tebow's body of work as you call it is somewhat limited. He's thrown exactly 19 passes in college. He has 2 TD passes and one of them didn't look like any pass I have ever seen. Hardly a body of work. He's done more work as a runner in college then he has as a QB. I could care less what he did in high school. There have been many stud high school QB's that have never amounted to squat in college. I believe the arguement was concerning college not what they accomplished in high school. I don't care about the Gators. In fact I'm indifferent to them. I'm tired of the hype that players get before they have ever stepped onto the field of play. Both in college and the pros. It's funny how more "USF fans" on a USF message board get their panties in a bunch over what is said about the UF qb.
  24. did you see Tebow's pass against USC this weekend? Missed a wide open guy 5 yards away for a TD from like the 15 yard line. He has no touch. Unless he throws up a jump ball!! This kid is on the juice. anybody who thinks any different is kidding themselves. He's just a linebacker that plays QB. Grothe has proven it on the field consistently already. Nobody knows how Tebow will fulfill his potential. How's Portis working out for the Gators? He was supposed the be the next big thing. Dingleberry, If you think Wright is a better QB than Grothe, then you probably think R Leaf was better than D Flutie. Weatherford is so good he doesn't even play anymore.
