  1. Seriously, you don’t need to make the case anymore that a coaching change is needed. The team’s performance is taking care of that. I’m not sure much more needs to be said. We play out the string this season and find new leadership.
  2. Jones committed to St. Bonaventure today - I’m guessing we weren’t really a serious player for him.
  3. I would agree, but the point he was trying to make is that we've added nothing while our conference mates are loading up. Hardly. Maybe Memphis, but I'll never really fear them as long as Penny is coaching them. They'll always be up and down, inconsistent.
  4. They lose an NBA-caliber player and add a guy that averaged 4 points per game on an awful Louisville team (8-24) last year and you think this is an upgrade? Really? FAU’s blip of success is over, just like FGCU’s Dunk City a few years back. It left with Dusty May.
  5. He hasn't posted anything recently about his offers. Only thing I see on his X feed is from early April, and we are not mentioned, but our recruiting coordinator is following him. As of April 2, this is what he had listed: Samford (Offered), Saint Bonaventure (Offered), Stephen F Austin (Offered), Murray State (Offered), Oakland University (Offered), Wichita State, Virginia Tech, UAB, Colorado State. He did go to high school in Jacksonville.
  6. I’m with you, bro! I think we’re going to have a nice club. And props to you. What do we look like if we get the kid from Barton, too? Let’s go!
  7. No kidding! If Gregory’s teams had shot 75% at the line, he’d still be our coach.
  8. Doesn't make a damned bit of difference to me where he recruits them. He wins - and has for years, like few other programs on campus.
  9. But he did sign with one last year - ETSU - until his Dad was fired. Post-grad probably made a lot of sense for him at that point. But who knows?
  10. Building a nice little pipeline to this annually great program. Eli had offers from Navy, James Madison, Central Michigan, FAMU and Dartmouth.
  11. I can’t find anything that updates his recruitment anywhere. I know he had a good post-grad season at IMG, so he’s in Florida. He has to be signing somewhere, and he did originally sign to play for his Dad at ETSU, so the family ties didn’t seem to be an issue a year ago. We’ll see. He doesn’t appear to have a Twitter page and his Dad doesn’t update his.
  12. I wonder if the portal era has taken a lot of schools out of spending time recruiting JUCOs? If so, could be a nice niche for us moving forward.
  13. Billy knew he had to win this year. You’d have to be either naive or in denial to believe this isn’t the end of the line - barring some miracle like 2021, but this team isn’t built like that one to make that a realistic possibility. Billy brought us some nice moments, for sure, but it’s a near certainty we’ll have a job opening at the end of the season - unless it’s purely an economic decision.
  14. It’s not there anymore. Maybe jumped the gun with compliance?
  15. Really thought the pitching staff would improve this year with Coach focused on that - but there have been no answers. The offense has produced enough to win more, but things haven’t gone our way there, either. We haven’t gotten the kind of year we hoped from Snow after what he showed last season, although I heard he’s been battling a back injury. Then we lose Boser, who was on fire early. And I really thought Drew Brutcher would ultimately develop into a conference Player of the Year type guy, but he just hasn’t. Good player, yes, but I thought he was going to be something really special for us. Whatever the reason, it just hasn’t come together and doesn’t look like it will. After back-to-back-to-back seasons of that, can you afford to just do business as usual? Probably not without some clear sign it’s going to change, and I can’t see that happening down the stretch with this pitching staff.
  16. Amir is the best recruiter we’ve ever had as head coach - by a wide margin. We’ll see if the new guys buy into the culture, share the ball, and shoot it clutch and consistent like this year’s bunch, but there’s no denying that the athleticism and skill is there. Exciting times.
  17. A new name to keep an eye on - Lajae Jones, 6-7 wing from perennial power Barton (Kan.) CC. Played as a frosh at Tarleton State and then was a Second-Team All-American for the JUCO national champs this past season. Averaged 15+ a game and shot 40+% from 3. Went to high school in Jacksonville.
