  1. here is an excellent writeup done by a syracuse poster about big east tailgating. this one is about wvu http://syracuse.scout.com/3/TailgateGuideWestVirginia.html
  2. if wv is the best team why didnt they prove it when they had to and had the chance? wv had one tough game all year to prepare for and they laid an egg wv would have lost to any other top 10 team why didnt uofl prove it vs rutgers? why didnt michigan prove if vs osu? why didnt usc prove it vs oregon state? why didnt florida prove it vs auburn? the point is its hard to go undefeated. look at this season. osu is the only undefeated team and is obvious #1 team in the country. michigan which is suppose to be one of the best teams out there with arguably the top notch defense gave up 40 plus points to osu. doesnt mean they are not a good team. and doesnt mean wvu isnt a good team. wvu might not be the best but we are so far better than most teams in the big east.........for this season.
  3. not even close pat white was 13-22 for 222 yards passing along with 23 carries for 125 yards with FOUR TDS. steve slaton was 18 carries for 156 yards with one TD and 3 catches for 74 yards
  4. 1. pat white can pass as he has one of the highest passing completion in college football. the reason many people say he cant pass is because we will run the ball 80 percent of the time. why pass when you can run? 2. as for slaton not being developed, terrible vision and cant break tackles.............seriously, do you truly believe in this? slaton might be the best rb in college fball this season. especially with injuries to michael bush and adrian peterson. the only guys that comes close is mcfadden, hart, wolfe, rice and hill. and if you actually break down the stats slaton has better numbers than any of those guys. wv's stats wouldnt be so gaudy if they played a big boy top 10 schedule white and slaton wouldnt survive such a schedule so you are assuming they wouldnt survive such a schedule? well, im assuming they would be. prove me wrong. slaton and white played against big boy uga last season. slaton set a sugar bowl record with over 200 yards rushing. i believe that qualifies for being gaudy.
  5. park at the coliseum (the basketball stadium) and then either catch the bus or take the PRT over to the medical center. the football stadium is right across from the hospital.
  6. for usf to win........ 1 control the line of scrimmage. wvu is usually smaller in size with the dline/oline. we rely on quickness and execution to counteract the size differential for the most part. if usf can push us around and substain drives could help control the clock. 2. turnovers. uofl won vs wvu because of this. usf must win this battle to get a victory out of morgantown. 3. make tackles. miss tackles vs slaton and white equals long runs....aka touchdowns. its already difficult trying to catch up to these guys. missing tackles constantly will crush any chance of a usf win.

  8. i posted this site on the scout.com a few days ago. last season, i remember this site being the most active and poster friendly of any usf site. the rivals.com site is another active wvu site. both sites have its pros/cons. just whatever you care for more.... goodluck on saturday. it should be an entertaining game to watch......i hope.
  9. hated the early kickoffs for this bowl game. ive attended the game every year so far. will try to do the same and support USF this year. Good luck with your matchup.
  10. there are plenty of sports bars to check out in uptown charlotte. the wvu alumni chapter bar (Angry Al's) is literally two blocks away from the football stadium. If you have any questions about charlotte as far as places to stay, what bars to go to, etc....... just let me know. Right now, im about to head over for Panther/Falcon tailgating in a few.
  11. check out CSTV.com in a couple of hours. i just talked to them a few minutes ago. (horrible customer support by the way) they said at the moment it wont be shown but there is a possibility of broadcasting the game. You just have to check out the website throughout the day. Its bogus but what can you do....... I believe it costs 7 bucks to watch the game. Also, if you have Sirius satellite you should be able to get the game.
  12. none obviously. like i said before steve slaton didnt become starter until about 4 games ago. during those four games he had put up 12 TDs and roughly 700 yards as the main ball carrier. against VT he rushed 11 times for 90 yards which was his most carries in a game at the time. he kept getting more carries each week and was able to capatilize on the opportunity. thats why i said second team for slaton. only because of not playing an entire season.
  13. do you think andre hall deserves first or second team All Big East? (we had a thread about this a few days ago) Personally, i said first team along with Michael Bush. Steve Slaton and Brian Leonard would get second team. However, if Slaton would of played in the first 4-5 games he would definitely be on the first team.
  14. based on what? neither teams wrs really sticks out.
  15. actually this game does have significant meaning for wvu. its all about finishing in the top 12 for BCS conference ranking. wvu is 11th or 12th (cant remember) at the moment and the win will only help the BE overall. We still get the previous rankings of louisville last season and miami the year before. besides, our team hasnt overlooked anyone this year. i expect the same vs USF.
  16. also the same team that beat Pitt, only one loss and is ranked #12 in BCS.
  17. Hope things work out as best as possible. My prayers will go out to you and family. Will pass this along the wvu message board........
  18. Perhaps USF QB is horrible but I would like to hear how you came up with WVU QB being horrible? or better yet just watch the last 3 games he has started in or the 220 yards rushing put up against pitt.....
  19. WVU team is not cocky nor will they underestimate USF.   We expect a physical game and hopefully get the best effort from both sides.   Of course i hope/expect for the Mountaineers to win. Obviously this is your opinion.  However, you might want to hold off with that statement until USF plays WVU. We will hit you hard and run the ball with the same passion.  and I do think VT is another physical team and from what I hear so is USF.
  20. funny...... wvu seems to get that response from everyone we played against.  Even after we win. ÂÂ
  21. Hey guys, first time poster. (i think this is my first post)  Anyhow, wanted to drop by and congratulate USF on a impressive first season of BE play.  I havnt seen you guys on the tube yet but from the sounds of it there are several similiarities with wvu (my school) and usf.  Primarily a run oriented team with the occasional pass.  I was curious as to know how strong is USF defense?  QB play?  and overall depth? Also, im trying to make the trip down there for our showdown.  Some of wvu alumni friends live within 10 minutes away from the football stadium.   I was wondering how the USF tailgate was like? oh and im full of questions today.  ;D  One more question.  Does howie (USF guy) post on this message board?  He usually visits our site (Blue Gold News on scout.com) from time to time.   Just wanted to tell him thanks for keeping us inform with USF the past year and a half. Goodluck against Cinnci and the rest of the year. (minus the WVU game)
  22. http://westvirginia.theinsiders.com/ A good site for WVU sports. Pretty active message board.
