  1. Wow, interesting that Pitt has the nerve to say something like that since Cincy and Pitt have put the Big East to the level below the MAC. I am glad Pitt feels so confident that they can win the Big East with their impressive win over Youngstown. I am not wanting to do any trash talking, but difference between Pitt and USF is that Pitt is a has been medicore BE team.
  2. I feel bad for any team that is playing Louisville after we handed them a big upset. Louisville is a good team. The Louisville game proved to all of us that we have a good football team. I will not be suprised if Louisville runs up the score against any of its future opponents and that will include FAU. For the other Big East opponents, Louisville will be a challenge.
  3. For us to get any respect, we are going to need this whole season to be a successful. We need to be on top of our game every week. I don't think Louisville is too overrated. I was more concerned about the Louisville game than any other on our schedule. However, for Louisville's future opponents, I think they might run up the score. In my opinion, USF is not getting any love because we are the young program that has the potential of crashing the party of the traditional powerhouses. When Notre Dame knocks off a Top 25, they are ranked. If we knock off a Top 10, we don't receive any votes. We need to make a statement every week and into hopefully our first bowl game (BCS bowl game would be awesome). Because we are so new, no one knows us until we make some noise.
  4. I hope USF DOES NOT continue this series with UCF. No one outside the I-4 corridor cares. I agree with Paul Griffin. How does this help our program? UCF should be worried about winning some games instead the annual series with USF. Further, even though there are a lot a alumni in Tampa, there are some in Atlanta that would like to see a GA Tech or GA game. Our program has a big hill to climb. Why stop off at the middle?
  5. I for one would love to see a rivalry like this happen. However, I am sure our Athletic Director is wanting to establish a strong program before establishing rivalries. When our program is consistently attending bowl games, I would say bring on UCF and UM or any of the other Florida schools. In my opinion, I would like to see our program winning the big games first. If there are "rivalry" games being played, I would like to see USF get the positive national exposure.
  6. Notre Dame is a "has been" in football. By the time they get to 2011, they will probably not even have a contract with NBC. Further, I WAS (emphasizing the was) a Notre Dame fan when I was a kid. However, Notre Dame needs to come back down to reality and understand they are no longer that "storied" football program from the past. It is 2005, and we are in the 21 century for all the Rudy want-a-bes.
  7. First, I think we have a **** good business school. However, I think our business school is underrated. A lot of schools spend a lot of money and effort to get into the magazine B-school rankings. Second, I do not know of any kid, in their teenage years, that decides to go to one college over another because of the academics. It all comes down to the best fit. For RJF, it came down to LSU because of football and track. He is having the struggle to even make it into college. Therefore, I would be suprise if he even gets a business degree or allowed to pursue a business degree. The closest he will get to their business department is looking at the building. Finally, we lost a good prospect. However, this is not the end of the world. The only thing that I care about is that we start dominating Big East football. A lot of universities that have excellent academic programs also have at least a excellent football/basketball program. The door is very very wide open. I hope the coaching next year will take us to these higher levels. Maybe this is where USF can be that nationally recognized school. USF is going in the right direction to being nationally recognized. We need something to sell the school to get people excited and pour money into the school.
  8. CFN has a bunch a idiots working there who don't know anything about football. Their version of a preseason poll is to use last year's final poll. I rather have the Bulls win conference championships and major bowl games than the hearts of a bunch of nobody writers. USF needs to dominate this conference, and then we can read how successful our program is by CFN (aka bandwagon jumpers).
  9. WTF!!!! PJ almost has more attempts than he has in completed yards. Our offense is very predictable. We have the talent. I can sense that the defense is better than what we see on the field. However, what gives you the motivation to bust your ass off when the offense goes 3 and out. However, I cannot wait till this season is over, and I hope changes are made for next year. Whatever changes happen, it cannot be as bad as what we are experiencing now. Go Bulls!!!!! Everyone peaks and valleys. Hopefully, the valley is only one season.
  10. is 4 wins from winning the World Series for St. Louis. Go LaRussa!!!!! Go Cards!!!!!
  11. Hopefully, this season will point out something for next year. It is possible, with the talent we have, to have a losing season. As far as the coaches are concerned, get the players ready because there are many others out there who can do the job. I understand being loyal, but only if the W's keep coming in.
  12. To tell you the truth, I am wondering about Carl Franks. This guy was an Assistant Offensive Coordinator at Florida from 95-98 and head coach at Duke. Love or hate the Gators, they did have some outstanding offensive teams during that time. Is there something we don't know? Is he learning the system this year so he can take the OC reigns next year? Franks seems like he is pretty qualified to be an OC.
  13. I am sure CJL cannot wait till next year when the new QBs will be competing for the starting job. I have not seen a game this season yet, but I think these coaches need the huddle and emphasize the run. Allow these kids to regroup after plays and have no huddle offenses on the quick 2 minute drill. Forcing the QB into speeding the game (offense) up is going to tire out the QB which will lead to mistakes which will lead to confidence problems. The offense needs to play a slower pace game to keep the DEFENSE off the field and to give the offense breaks between plays. In my opinion, this is what will make us successful against the tougher competition.
  14. I want to optimistic as anyone else, but it looks like we may have a long season ahead of us. It will be interesting to see how well the offense plays next week considering TCU gave up 70 points to Texas Tech. If we get to a bowl this season that will be great. However, we better be kicking ass next year when we join the Big East. I am sure the respect will come when we get a QB who runs an awesome offense.
