  1. Let's not forget this guy either.... good start to his season. Cleveland Browns' Anthony Henry (37) intercepts a pass intended for Baltimore Ravens' Kevin Johnson (85) in the fourth quarter of the Browns' 20-3 win Sunday, Sept. 12, 2004. (AP Photo/Mark Duncan)
  2. I love this quote (excuse me if my re-typing is off a little or improper usage of another sites info): Wow-- that is how he views Miami? Like it is some sort of given that those players all end up in the NFL? Maybe we haven't offered him for reasons other than he is too big for us. His quote about us: It is wierd to hear a recruit say and do things like this while we have other recruits who are making verbals early to avoid all the wooing by other schools. Yeah-- they are going to check out some other places etc-- and we might even lose a couple here and there. But they aren't shopping themselves around to schools. He's calling some of them up. I don't know-- maybe the quotes are slanted to make USF look like we are doing something stupid or he is just being misquoted (in the longest run on sentence I've seen in a while). But I wouldn't say "screw this guy" so much as I would say-- let's let our coaches figure out what they want to do. I would imagine that CJL isn't talking out his ass if he truly said something like "he thinks he's too big a prospect". Thank's for the read Brad-- it was interesting.
  3. Yeah-- Notre Dame is going to jump all over that idea--- brilliant.
  4. Check out the following TWO LINKS to Snapfish.com albums.... Bull Backers Club Tailgate pictures-- click here! Spring Game pictures-- click here! 207 photos for the Spring Game alone --  Sorry I am sharing these so far after the fact. The original idea was to have Brad post them. Brad has been too busy to get these posted to the MikeG's galleries board due to his current workload and move out to AZ. Hope you enjoy them anyway. PS-- You may have to register with snapfish.com to view these-- a quick and fairly easy task. If you choose not to do so, that's life.
  5. That was an excellent Super Bowl! Go Bears!
  6. One was Alan Page (supreme court judge) and former Bear.
  7. at home against Notre Dame 7-0 Nov. 16th, 1957 They were National Champs in 1955 & 1956. Here's all the scores EVER for OU.
  8. I do not believe for a minute that this move had the slightest thing to do with salary cap issues. The Bucs (or more tot he point Rich McKay) have done a fantastic job of managing their cap room for years. We are still in a good position along these lines. If anything, dumping Keyshawn was like removing a sideline tumor. I liked him as a player and thought he was a pretty gutty receiver. But how long can you act like that on the sideline-- screaming at your coach about what he should do-- or the whole putting a house up for sale-- or his inability to practice in the off-season. Yeah-- I've heard his arguments (and others) about not getting paid to practice in the off-season. But if you are a professional and we paid you a ton of money to play for us, isn't it part of your job, whether it is mandatory or not (or a paid work time) to make an effort to be there for your team? Nope-- not in Keyshawn's eyes. That's a shame-- he could have used that time to his advantage but he wasted it on livin' large or whatever he does in Cali. For someone who considered himself a leader on the Bucs-- he sure the hell never acted like one. What a shame it is that we have Keyshawn on every Super Bowl poster and other paraphenalia but no sign of Keenan McCardell. Keenan scored TWO touchdowns in the Super Bowl but didn't hype it up. He didn't even get to speak at the big celebration (neither the one at the stadium nor the one after the parade). Anyway-- this won't kill the Bucs-- the injury bug is biting them squarely on the ass and if anything, I see this move as a positive. Maybe it will get the guys back to realizing that the team comes first. Warren Sapp-- for as much as so many people can't stand him-- is a very direct person in any interview. But the bottom line is he does his job, perhaps more so than anyone has this season. Sure-- his sack totals are off-- but when was the chief role of a defensive tackle supposed to be to get sacks. he is there to stop the run. He doesn't do that much this year either but if you actually watch just Sapp during any given game-- check out what is going on. He is getting double and sometimes triple teamed. That means somebody is not picking up the slack out there. This season is pretty much toast-- we got a chance or two and perhaps the Bucs can pull it out with a good run(hope so). But so many games we had in the bag were lost this year. The difference was that last year we won those games. anyway-- we'll see how this pans out soon enough.
  9. That doesn't seem all that different than previous years though, does it?
  10. What baffles me is that WVU isn't ranked (or they weren't heading into this game). Wins against Pitt and VT and a close but no cigar vs Miami. Sure-- they had some dumb losses early to the likes of Cinci but come on! The polls are a joke sometimes.
  11. The Bucs clearly have not shown any interest in winning games this year. After every loss, we hear the same old crap about how they are focused etc and that they are confident they can turn it around. The ship has sailed folks. The season is pretty much garbage at this point. They will have to run the table and hope for a miracle to make the playoffs IMO. This season has been a let down. A dominant defense that we could count on has failed numerous times to keep a lead late in the game. It's sad really-- this team has so much talent but they don't seem to working together and getting the job done in the clutch. It's like you go to the game and wonder which Bucs team will show up today. I guess one good thing about this situation is the band wagon fans who climbed aboard will start jumping off if they haven't already. I know we've had some key injuries (Alstott hurts more than most can reasonably see) at skill positions and on the offensive line. But ****-- losing to the F'ing Packers really hurts. that was cathartic....
  12. It's a risky bet for one reason alone. OU took so much crap over beating another decent team 77-0 last week that thye might call off the dogs as early as the first half. The problem is-- even their walkons can probably beat the crap out of doggie doo Baylor. When you see a line set at 52.5 points, there must be some kind of reason for it. I mean-- why not make it 60 points? The bookies know something and that might be underhanded. Since the BCS gives little credence to the whole margin of victory situation that the polls used to actually give rats testicles about, there is little reason for OU to whip their ass worse than 42-0. No one will suddenly question whether or not they have leveled off. The whole situation is quite comical. It couldn't happen to a better team.
  13. What impressed me was that they could win so quickly after starting a new team. How they got there is not important since every team in the league had the same opportunity if not more so.
  14. The Yankees pitching is solid, as is the rest of their team. The Marlins just out played them. Now the Big Stein might dump a assistant coach or two but Torre is very safe IMO. Torre said as much on ESPN. Big deal-- they won the Worlds Series again. I was more impressed by the first one than this one.
  15. I didn't write all that..... in fact-- I did put the whole "JUST KIDDING" part in there. or were you just joshing me with the whole lighten up BS? uggh-- this joke has run its course people
  16. I hear they let Billy Goats and Babes enter the Yankee Stadium with regularity.
  17. Pedro should have went into Matador mode and swept him by-- Ole!
  18. Did anyone notice they addressed the on side kickoff on Monday Night Football tonight? They examined the kick and found that because the ball never hit the ground, the defenders are required to give the receiving team the opportunity to catch the ball before they touch it. In other words, the correct call would have been a 15 yard infraction against the COLTS. Now that's a BULLCHIT call and more importantly the blown one that could have STOPPED the comeback in its tracks.
  19. Zimmer is still responsible for his actions to some extent. Anyone with a metal plate in their skull would be wise to avoid unnecessary violent contact to their head. I think that's why he had the Sarge helmet on but I'm probably wrong. I've forgotten more about the Yankees than I can say I know.
  20. Isn't the main part of the advancing fumble rule dealing with the "intentional" part of the equation? If the fumble is being scrambled after (or in this case-- LOST) on the ground-- anyone can come along and pick it up and go in either direction. I also thought some other players from both teams touched the ball on that play. It must be a judgment call from the officials as to the intent of how the fumble occurs.
  21. Screw the Lightning for opening on a night that should have been ALL about the Bulls. They didn't have to make Firday night THE opening night, did they? We knew as early as June or July that this game was going to be on Friday night and the Lightning didn't give a crap about that fact. Hey-- I like the Lightning-- don't get me wrong there. But if we are partnering with them on other ticket promotions etc -- why can't they agree to give us some breathing room? Plenty of their fans are our fans as well.
  22. One other thing I heard on the radio yesterday-- you CAN signal the fair catch but the other team can still grab the ball before you do. You have no protection against them hitting you or getting to the ball first. The point is that calling for a fair catch really isn't much help and typically the on side gets hit into the ground to gain height (bounce it into the ground). I'm sure someone will dispute this-- just what I heard on the Derrick Brooks show-- someone I think we can trust as far as that goes. He said they practice that situation in training camp-- so yes, they were aware of it. But I wonder what good it would have done either way since the Colts caught it in the air. right?
  23. That is news to me-- i always thought the difference between a punt and a kickoff was the live aspect of the ball. If you don't cover the kickoff, the other team can get possession. I guess it rarely comes up that someone would want to bother calling a fair catch since most kickoffs go very deep or hit the ground quickly (squib kicks, on side kicks). I'll take your word for it. I don't blame the players for not knowing this or thinking about it either.
