  1. Couldn't afford Jim's buyout? Are you High? All LRS would need is a phone and 3 minutes and the 50grrr would be deposited in escrow and the van would pull up to CJL house,  Spurrier would bring millions in revenue to USF overnight like Shaq to the HEAT.

I hope it doesn't happen and I hate to say it, but I must agree.  If Spurrier tells JG and DW he wants to be their coach, they will drop CJL faster than (insert whatever cliche you like).  Spurrer's name would immediately double season tickets and donations in addition to a major impact on recruiting.

Hell, the Big East would kick in dollars to make it work.

  2. This song is awful for a marching band and is getting old.  The words they decide to sing are the most depressing in the whole song - "Nothing really matters.  Anyone can see. Nothing really matters to me."  Cripe - you are supposed to be motivating and exciting the team and the fans. Leave the singing to the chorus.

  3. The Big East hasn't released their schedule yet.  It's hard to schedule OOC games when we don't even know what dates will be available.

The BE never releases their schedule until Dec-Jan.  We just have to assume the OOC games will be in September like 90% of the rest of 1A does.  Let's get this done.

BTW, for 2006 why not work out a deal with UCF to include that away game in our season ticket package so people are committing to 6 games, but we only need to schedule 5 home games.  This would give us a bit of room to get the 1 for 1's going and athletics would still feel like they sold a 6 game season ticket.  Athletics could still charge us $20-$30 per ticket but only pay UCF $10 - $15 per ticket on a 20,000 ticket guaranteed sale.  I can't believe anyone would not buy season tickets if they were forced to pay for UCF as the 6th game.

  4. My 2 cents.

    1.  Agree that someone who can react faster needs to control the down and distance.  My 12 year old will say the down and distance as soon as the refs converge from the sidelines within 3 seconds of the whistle blowing.  Half the time the scoreboard changes at the snap or not at all.

    2.  Cut the PA music in half.  College games should be more about the band than AC/DC.

    3.  HOT should learn the opponent's fight song and before the teams come on the field they should go over to the SE corner to play it for their fans.  Then march over to the Bulls bench and play our fight song.

    4.  Bag the Alma Mater before the game.  Either play it at half time or after the game is over.  Over time 4-5 years, students would stay and people would begin to gather near the field to sing it with the team after the game.

    5.  I can't stand the PA guy "explaining" tradition to us before the game and asking for an "inspired shout of Go Bulls" during the fight song.  His "please rise" gets many people standing because they think the national anthem is coming, then they awkwardly sit down when they realize it is for a fight songs. This is all very bush league - just play the songs and over time and people will start arriving earlier and standing themselves.

    6.  Stats please.  Why can't we have one board on each side scrolling up to the second stats - this all has to be computerized as the game progresses and can't be that difficult to display.  In another post, I said that is the one great thing about UCF at the citrus bowl.

    7.  Finally, what happened to the pre kickoff video of the techno bulls and shots of great hits?  It was not their last night at all.  We have the greatest video screens in college football - we should take advantage of them and do a pregame video like the BUCS with their ship destroying the other team's ship.

    Thanks for listening.

  5. I think for this year and for our fan base the best thing that could happen if we are eligible would be for the XII to not have a 7th or 8th team eligible and we get invited to the Tangerine against the ACC.  Obviously we would travel well to the game and it would be a great opponent.  The factors against the Bulls are very few hotel rooms sold and little local Orlando spending.

  6. The boys over at BoneyardBanter are looking way past both USF & Memphis. They have thier collective eye on NCSU (final game of the season for them) ...may be played in Charlotte, I'm not certain. I'm guessing they've alredy stuck a fork in the season and are playing for highlights.

Looking at all 3 boards, you wouldn't even know they have a game on Saturday.  The main discussion now is how their new baseball stadium is progressing.

  7. CFN Prediction

East Carolina (2-6) at South Florida (3-4), 7:00 GamePlan

Why to watch: South Florida kept its bowl hopes alive with a stunning, rain-soaked 45-20 win over UAB. With three of the final games at home, the Bulls have to get on a run against an East Carolina team looking to keep improving. The Pirates are young and already looking towards next year, but it wouldn't mind getting a few more wins to build some positive momentum.

Why East Carolina might win: Explosions against UAB aside, this isn't normally a potent USF offense. It's able to generate points even though it doesn't gain many yards, so if the Pirates can somehow keep the game in the USF end of the field they should be fine. The Bulls don't go on too many long, sustained drives, but ...

Why South Florida might win: ... this might be the game it does. East Carolina's run defense is among the worst in America and has a nightmare of a time getting offenses off the field. The Bull offense ripped apart UAB's defense in the second half last week; East Carolina's is even worse. USF has a renewed enthusiasm now that a bowl game is a real possibility.

Who to watch: South Florida has had an inconsistent running game, but when it's rolling it's unstoppable. Junior Andre Hall tore through UAB for 275 yards and two touchdowns last week and had 200 yards and two scores against Army. He has been the offense's workhorse and should hit the 200-yard mark again against the porous Pirate D.

What will happen: East Carolina has been horrible on the road and isn't going to turn things around now.

CFN Prediction: South Florida 34 ... East Carolina 20 ... Line: South Florida -11.5

Must See Rating: (5 lock yourself in a room to watch - 1 Country Music Awards) ... 2
