Well technically, if their boss told them not to talk to the media, then they ARE "unavailable for comment"!  ;D  ;D  ;D  I'm just saying, the Tampa media (and the Trib particularly) seem to be trying to make a bigger deal out of this "media ban" than it really deserves. It's not like NOBODY in the program is allowed to talk to the media. Plenty of players and even Jim Leavitt himself are quoted in multiple sources every week.  I don't see the reason to continually point out the obvious.  Comes across to fans as a cheap shot at their program and their coach.

Did anyone think that the band at UNC was mic'd? Or was it just their stadium design that allowed us to hear them all the way in the corner of the endzone? They didn't look nearly as large as the H.O.T., but I sure heard them loud and clear.

Exactly, Velcro. It does not matter to me WHY she has this national stage, just that there are people all over the country who read her stuff & find out about USF. That's good news for us and for USF, no matter how you look at it.

Regardless of how you feel about her (and I personally think she's pretty darn cool), I think we can all agree that getting repeatedly mentioned on SIOC.com this football season is great for the BULLS!!!!!!!!!!

I just read on si.com that the Miami PD hosted a large group of kids at this game to promote their "Join a Team, Not a Gang" program. Guess that didn't really work out too well, since those 2 teams showed them you could be on a team & still act like a gang banger.  :-/  >  :'(  :'(  :'(

Tailgating is almost non-existant in Chapel Hill, but I will tell ya'll a little secret if you are driving:

Near Columbia St and Franklin St (more or less the northwest corner of UNC's campus) there is a private parking lot that opens early, allows tailgating and is run by some nice folks.  The stadium is about a fifteen minute walk through the Carolina campus -- look for the bell tower or just ask someone.

We noticed this hotel 2 years ago when we traveled to UL game. It is literally a stone's throw from Papa John's Stadium. We walked past the hotel as we were walking to the stadium from where we had to park. They also have a free shuttle from the airport & continental breakfast. It's not the Four Seasons, but it seems like a great option if you're just flying into town for the game.

Ponton goes into the North Carolina game listed as the No. 2 back behind Lake Wales' Benjamin Williams, but he is expected to work into the starting roll, although Leavitt won't confirm that.

"Benjamin has run hard from the beginning and he hasn't slowed down. That's why he's in there," Leavitt said.

"Ponton hasn't played," Leavitt said. "We'll have to wait and see how he plays, see how it will all work out."
