  1. PAPAJOHNS.COM BOWL

South Florida (8-4) vs. East Carolina (7-5)

How to get a free pizza: Go to PapaJohns.com during the game and place an order. When the delivery guy arrives, tell him you're unsatisfied and refuse to pay. "But sir, you haven't even tasted the pizza yet," he'll say. "I know," you'll reply. "But this football game of yours ruined my appetite."

    USF 27, East Carolina 14

  2. I think the initial reaction to this matchup (and one ECU fans still dont understand) is as USF fans ECU, and CUSA to some extent, is more of a been there done that situation. We were just comming off of the high of beating WVU, and looking at maybe the Texas bowl, but more than likely a CUSA Southern Miss team that we wanted revenge against. So when ECU got the bid it kinda was a buzz kill.

Are you a different team then two years ago? Sure. Do I think USF has the better team? Hell yes. But there is a reason you play the game. We have done plenty of upsetting and been upset ourself. Either way the players on the field will decide the outcome.

I don't understand how USF can complain about who their bowl opponent is.  You've only been to 1 bowl and haven't won one.  To say you are "disappointed" that you are playing ECU smells of an arrogance that you certainly shouldn't have at this point.  I understand the whole 0-3 thing but if your fanbase can't rally around any bowl, regardless of opponent, you have issues.

Now you'll know going forward that you have to finish 3rd or better or you'll be playing "lowly" "CDOA" teams or even worse.

I'm sorry you don't understand.  We were already bowl eligible and had 7 wins to gaurantee a bowl, ok?  We were heading to this papajohns bowl alread, ok?  With me so far?  Then we beat a top 10 team in WVU that without a loss to UL in a great game would have been #2 in the nation.  Result?  The same bowl we would have gone to anyway.  And who do we play?  A team we played in the C-USA that I didn't know about then and still don't know much about (because I'm a collage football fan, not an encyclopedia).  Oh, and we are 3-0 against the team, meaning if we lose there's nothing gained.  If we played another BCS team that we have never played there would be a sense of accomplishment, more than just winning a bowl game.

I think you could modify that statement to also include a C-USA team like S. Miss, who we do have a history/"rivalry" with from our days in C-USA.  Despite the same conference affiliation, there would be a world of difference between USF playing SMU instead of ECU in the Pizza Bowl.

  3. Welcome, Bulldad!!!!  Check out this thread - you can probably still contact __Eats It and get on the alternate list. Dreamland BBQ seems to be "the" place for Bulls fans who aren't going to the $100/head party on Friday night. Looks like things are shaping up for meeting/tailgating Saturday morning, too, so keep checking this board for details. Go BULLS!!!!!!!!!!!!   [smiley=GoBulls.gif]

  4. i already booked the hotel, just looking to see if there was a way i would not have to drive to the game from the hotel

In case anyone at athletics is gauging interest in this service, I would also like to find out about a bus ride from the Sheraton to the stadium.

  6. Mag Pie, you should think about getting season tix in the south endzone, Section 124/125-ish. I felt the same as you initially about the fans being too sedate, but with Shoop & Co. in the south endzone, it's still a lot of fun! It's also the corner of the endzone closest to the visitors section, so there's plenty of opportunity to heckle.  And it is soooo great to have a seat reserved for you, instead of fighting with the attention whores in the student section who only want to sit in the front row to get on TV.

  7. Dude, those OL guys were MASSIVE.  I hope Gradkowski is getting paid, because if he picked up the tab, I'm sure it was substantial.

On a side note, Bruce was blocking the ramp to the dining area in the back, and my 3 year old son hip-checked him out of the way to get by.  =)

Yeah he was busy hitting on every blond waitress he could get his hands on.  Hey, can't blame him.

    Gradkowski, or the 3 year old!?!??  ;)  ;D  ;D

  8. Day's Inn at $62 sounds more my speed

  9. I can be a softy, I will admit when it comes to children. When USF played Syracuse, the Orange mascot was near my seat for a while and I was just getting ready to joke about him when a lot of small children who were with the Syracuse fans surrounded him (or her?).  Needless to say I said nothing since the children loved the mascot. :-X

did you see otto messing with rocky.....rocky finally got tired of him and then tackled him....it was hilarious

What about when Otto pulled his arms inside the orange blob and Rocky punched it, making it spin around?   ;D  Rocky ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. Right now Student Athletes have to go a ways from what I understand.

This way, they can eat and be right at the facility to train, watch film, etc.

Yup also the staff can moniter what athletes eat and have more control over their diets which will be a huge benefit.

Really??!  I did not know they did stuff like that. I guess it makes sense, I just never thought about it before. Interesting.
