  1. I think the announcers have given up trying to be unbiased...they are clearly UCLA fans.

  5. Yeah smazz, did you get a chance to call Woolard "Dulllard" to his face?
  6. Those of you seeking out pictures of nice stadiums ought to include price tags where possible...would help with perspective...
  7. Info on SDSU's stadium: There's that **** "donation" thing again! http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/aztecs/20050217-9999-1s17azsoft.html
  8. Internet search turned up UNLV's Eller Media Stadium constructed for $2.7 million (after recieving a $3 million donation). http://unlvrebels.cstv.com/sports/w-softbl/spec-rel/060701aaa.html
  9. Must be pretty bad, this is the only picture under "Facilities" for the softball field: Modified to add the following:
  10. Doesn't our softball team play on the same intramural fields students do? I hate to sound ignorant, but I never went to a game and from my days on campus (way back), the only softball field I can remember are the intramural fields we students played on. I would like to see a new softball stadium first. The program already has a successful coach. Imagine what a new stadium could do....a hell of a lot more than raise the program to where it otherwise should be. The return on investment is much higher.
  11. A little Sunday morning boredom hs resulted in me entering this thread.... First, even those that support RMc have varying levels of confidence. I have very little "confidence" as I have yet to see consistent returns. I have seen, however, that RMc can have a positive effect on a team, that he can coach the floor and pull out big wins. With that and a steady focus, I have preserved confidence in him and developed an ability to not panic - but instead to ride it out. The reason I entered the fray is the comment that the detractors continually make...that some say RMc is a "nice guy" or as usfgrad84 says - "a great guy personally." Usually after comments like that all the detractors want to know what makes him a nice guy or what has he done for the community...? Goofy. His supporters do not suport him because he is a good guy or a great guy...that is Eddie C.'s claim to a job. I believe McCullum's supporters support him because he requires discipline, hard work and a team committment to the program. He is building a program the hard way. He is not taking in head cases and parolees, he is trying to build players and a program with some class and character. I applaud that. Like anyone else should be, he is on the clock. I hope his plan and perseverance pays off for all os us. If not, he will likely be moved out the door. But until that moment, it is incumbent upon me as a USF fan and a believer in the quality of program he is trying to build, to support him, our players and our school.
  12. Or we could just play at the Trop... Afterall, the pro stadium argument works for football, right?
  13. I noticed UCLA's softball facility, I think that would make for a nice upgrade: Of course it would be nice for our baseball team, but as someone else suggested, why not give the girls the upgrade first? They will likely (already have) reach higher levels before baseball anyhow...
  14. Since I am not there so much anymore, about the only thing that really annoyed me was the three hour tailgate window. I would like to see the games in the evening with an extended tailgate. How better to build some Bulls Community. I still think back to the Alabama game. I arrived there very early and was amazed at what a day-long experience the 'Bama folks made tailgating - they took it pretty seriously. The way it was in Tampa when I was there was there was barely enough time to set-up before you had to take down. It would be nice if we had extra time to wander around and meet fellow Bulls - build some relationships, etc. Once I am in the stadium, my only thought goes to how the place doesn't feel like "home", but hen now I am on the OCS debate...
  15. By the way, the $15.00 is earned by the site if someone signs up for a free "trial" membership, but I think it ends at the end of May.
  16. Back when I lived in Florida and we attended every home game, our tailgating usually started out each season with a simple hamburger and hot dog event or something similar.  Each home game we would ratchet it up and eventually go to chicken, ribs and our final regular season fare was steak. We were on the local news one year as some reporter was doing a piece on the tailgating atmosphere at the Bulls final home game one year.  Cute blond, can't remember her name.  She was impressed with my grill work - or so she said...  ;D Plenty of Amber Bock abounded as well as a TV/VCR.  We ritually watched the "First Stampede" VHS tape to kickoff each season.  Then each week, we'd usually have the TV on another live game just for ambiance. We usually tailgated with a group of about 8-10, always inviting new Bulls when possible.  We went through a few different grill upgrades, two canopy upgrades, folding tables and such. Even bought my Xterra in a gold tone so as to complement the game day colors.  The previous tailgating vehicle was a Bulls Green Explorer. As the kids got old enough, we would bring a foam football to the tailgate so they could toss it around and experience the brutal oppression of the Parking Lotzis. Our tailgate usually had some banner or something that said SouthFloridaBulls.com so you may have seen us at one time or another. In three hours I had enough time to get parked, bribe the parking lotzi, put up a canopy, hook up audio/video, cook the chow, feed everyone, eat a bite myself, take down everything, stow it, and rush into the stadium for kickoff.  It was a great time in spite of the short time allowed to "tailgate". After I moved out of state, I generally joined BullBacker tailgates. Those are always good. A lot of good people, plenty of good food and Bulls talk. Last one I attended had a couple dozen people and it was fun talking with all the gang.
