  1. I could not find any highlights. Do you have any to share? The stat that I find impressive is his 2FG% which was 61% on 363 attempts. For a guard that is very impressive.
  2. I have not seen him linked to anyone besides Michigan; however, he been in the portal quite a while. I find this suspicious. Perhaps Michigan is not a done deal. There are all sorts of reasons unknown to us why I player may end somewhere other than where we expect.
  3. What we lost this year: Youngblood - 41.6% and 82.9% FT Placer - 40.3% and 76.5% FT Miguel - 39% and 80.2% FT Pryor - 35.2% and 81.5% FT Will be tough to replace those numbers. Jennings will replace. Not sure if Brown will replace. Green probably will not. And Reynolds could possibly replace.
  4. Johnell Davis has not committed yet. I figured he'd already be at Michigan. Wonder if CAAR can pull some magic????
  5. Nice pick-up. Would be great pick-up if his 3-pt shooting was a few shots better than 3-17. Appears to be pretty solid down low. He was starting and getting good minutes for the Noles early on, but averaged about 5-6 minutes over the last 11 games. Wonder what that was about.
  6. He should have also tried out for baseball team because he was a pretty good pitcher with a high 90mph fastball. He gave up baseball to focus on basketball. What's next, bobsledding?
  7. Don't underestimate the chances of him making the roster. Ever heard of George Fant? He was a pretty good 6'5" forward at Western Kentucky. He also appeared in 2 games as a tight end for WKU. Seahawks signed him to develop him into an offensive lineman. One of the reasons Russell Wilson has gotten sacked so many times was because he was running for his life the last 7 years in Seattle because the Pete Carroll's draft philosophy was to sign athletic guys who had little to no experience in football and then develop them to be offensive and defensive linemen. I think they figured Wilson had good escapability, so they could save money and use it instead to keep Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor, and Wagner. Anyway, Fant was one of the few who turned out to be good for not having prior experience. He has had a successful career as a starting tackle in the NFL. Matos could turn out to be another Fant.
  8. Supposedly Placer entered the portal because he wanted to play for CAAR. Placer played at least twice each year against CAAR and he torched them in a few games; so CAAR knew what he was getting. Not saying that CAAR would not do the same thing, but I noticed that some of the players that he has picked up were players that he recruited earlier in his career, like Pryor. I remember reading a story about him recruiting him out of high school but he chose Boise State, who pretty much didn't play him.
  9. I think he visited St. Louis after us and then tried to visit or had a visit with NC State. Maybe he is going to NC State.
  10. And now that I think of it, probably Pryor as well. We may see him go to a team that he visited last year. Does anyone remember whom he visited. I remember he took a trip somewhere after he visited us and posted that he was not committed to USF.
  11. It's not the same. From his tweet, he states that coaches are passing on players because of their poor evaluation. And now under a different coach in a lesser conference, they suddenly see what they were to ignorant to see because of their poor evaluation skills. When CAAR took his players from KSU, they were his players that he evaluated and determined they were good to play for him.
  12. The player would need to be in the portal in order for schools to make contact with the player. I think his comment has to do more with CY and Miguel. I am guessing CY wanted to play at Alabama (closer to home) and they ignored him. I am also guessing that Miguel wanted to play at Maryland since his older cousin played there. And they probably ignored him as well.
  13. I love this post from CAAR. Quite ballsy! And he is right! And that is why I always say that each of us has a set of eyes; use them to do your own evaluation. Too many here defer to a coach's decision. And a year ago, many here also criticized the decision to bring in players from the ASUN and junior college. Instead of using your eyes, you just assumed that they were not talented players. They are talented players in all conferences. Things are quite different today than 30 years ago when you could see clear differences in the talent level between conferences. The landscape has changed.
  14. Brad, you surprised me with this. I think Pryor has above average defensive skills. Do you realize that he led the team in both blocks and steals (tied with Miguel and Reid)? I was also impressed with Pryor's ability to stay with smaller quick guards. Many times I saw them trying to get by him on their way to the basket and he was always quick enough to keep up and prevent them from taking a shot. Also, I don't know if anyone noticed that Pryor's ball handling improved tremendously during the last half of the season. I did not recall him bobbling/losing his dribbles or having balls bouncing off his hands like we say often early on.
  15. On tape, looks very good to me. According to CAAR, very good. He did not attempt many field goals. And in their unselfish style of play, Cy and Terrell Burden were the main guys.
  16. You missed my point. Ask Brian Battie how much visibility he got last year and if he thinks he would have had more at USF.
  17. Do you realize that his numbers over his first 3 years are better than Miguel's over the same period? Miguel had 27 games this year where he had double-digit field goal attempts. In his last year, Jennings did not have a single game with at least 10 field goal attempts. Meanwhile Miguel had 15 games with at least 10 FGA the same year under CBG. Miguel may appear to be better just purely on volume.
  18. And that was the perception/reality last year as well. After what CAAR did at KSU, followed by what he did here a year later, I have difficulty believing that voters would have the same perception. Last year, he came into a situation with only 3 players from the previous year, plus 3 that went with him. He will have 6 players this year from this past year. I also believe that CAAR is going to have some surprising and impressive players coming in soon. He has been dropping hints in his twitter videos. Players want to play for winners. All CAAR has to do is show what he did in 2 consecutive seasons or say talk to my current or former players about what type of coach I am and the culture we have. Malique, are you listening?
  19. We will be a top 25 team next year because we will be a better squad next year. My guess is that we will be picked first in the conference and just may be a pre-season top 25 team. If not, we will crack it early. Jennings will make fans quickly forget about Miguel. Brown will make fans quickly forget about CY. And Reynolds will make fans quickly forget about Pryor. And recruitment isn't over. I can't state enough how impressed I am with Reynolds' skills, especially his ability to shoot with both hands equally well down low. In his highlight video, he hits 5-6 shots with his left. One was off the backboard and the others were nothing but net. He can hit the 3 and is bigger, stronger, and has better hops than Pryor. For entertainment value, his dunks are also more awesome than Pryor's.
  20. I was going to say the same thing. Look at the teams in last year's final 4 as well. 3 of the 4 all had true centers.
  21. I think Pryor has the best shot because of his size. He can score against and defend short and tall players.
  22. We already have two that you have not seen play yet in Brown and Jennings. Like I said, I feel better with Reynolds, Jennings, and Brown than I did with CY, Pryor, and Miguel.
  23. Just thought I'd mention that Vlad Goldin is officially at Michigan.
