  1. Exactly! I liked Fred. He was very friendly and would always say hi to me and say a few words when we saw each other. One of the nicest Bulls I ever met.
  2. They wanted to win a national championship.
  3. Anyone have any updates on Pryor? Is he considering returning to USF? Last year, he played with us before finally committing.
  4. She is not listed on the roster yet at school's website; however, USF women's basketball, per WBBBlog, added Fatou Diakite, a 6'3" center who played her freshman season at Charlotte last year. At first glance, she does not look to be anything special, but seems like she could develop into a decent player by her junior season. She shot 36% from the floor last year on 73 attempts. As CJF says, no bueno. So, it looks like Mputu will be our starter at center next season, with Diakite and Silva getting some time for defensive purposes. If so, I think we are improved offensively over last year at center with Mputu. The rest of the other roster positions are pretty strong, whether it be starters or bench players. I would say that the only weakness on the this team would be centers off the bench and height if Mputu has to defend centers several inches taller than she is.
  5. I liked Hines too! I just read on his LinkedIn profile that he has aspirations to play professionally. He probably felt that he needed to be in a program where he would get more minutes and an opportunity to showcase his skills.
  6. To my knowledge, there is no rule saying they have to transfer. Most players transfer for a variety of reasons. It could be for more money, to be closer to home, for more playing time, to be in a specific graduate program, etc. In Miguel's case, perhaps his cousin told him that Maryland wanted him and was willing to pay him a number he couldn't refuse. I think I read an article that said that Mama Dembele (women's BB) wanted a career in medicine and that she would be in USF's MS medical science program. Placer had the option to stay where he was but wanted to play for CAAR.
  7. Last year, we used only 3, Walker, Hines, and Pryor. We lost 2 and we gained 2, who are taller than the 2 we lost.
  8. This is 15 minutes of pure joy! Last year, we did not have a guard that could drive and hit a layup. In these 15 minutes, we see lots of driving and scoring, lots of 3s from practically half-court, lots of mid-range jumpers, and lots of step-back 3s. This year, we are going to have 3 guards (Thompson, Dembele, and Tomasicka) who can drive and score and also hit the outside shot. The pain of watching our offense last year was short-lived. Can't wait for the season to start. Amy Thompson Sr. HS Season Highlights WWW.HUDL.COM Amy Thompson Sr. HS Season Highlights
  9. He can say he is both, but how would he do that? Russell Wilson has a cool way to say that he is from both NC State (Wolfpack) and Wisconsin (Badgers). When players announce the school he is from, he says "A Whole Pack of Badgers." I imagine trying to combine Bulls and Buffaloes would be kind of tough. How about a thundering herd of Bulls?
  10. Hopefully it will be Jones and another quality big. I was hoping for Jones and Ewin, but Ewin chose FSU.
  11. I like the pick, looks good on tape and solid stats. He'll be a one and done, having already played 4 years. I would have preferred Lajae Jones, who looks like a better skilled player and shooter.
  12. Not only did they lose an NBA-caliber player, but I would say that they lost at least 2 NBA-caliber players in Goldin and Davis.
  13. One idea that I would be excited about would be the NCAA holding an all-star tournament after the NCAA tournament. This tournament would be a group of all stars from each conference. 12 or 13 players from each conference would be selected by their conferences. Each squad would be coached by the conference's coach of the year. Then each conference would be placed in a bracket based on their so-called ranking. I think that would be fun to watch and we would see a lot of lower ranked conferences pulling off some upsets. Would anyone else find that interesting?
  14. I miss the good ole days when there was no Internet or cell phones. Those days were fun! I was in college in the 80s, like some of you here. we did not have that technology then, but I am willing to bet that most of us would say that the 80s was the most fun decade of our lives. Today, people only seem to care about how they look, showing people how they look or where they are, and having fake friends. I don't understand why you would want to get dolled up to play a sport where you get all sweaty and are pulling, shoving, and being rough with other players. I think if the Internet and cell service were to shut down for several months, the population would drop by perhaps more than a billion people.
  15. For me, she looked like she was more interested in being at a glamor shoot than at being on a basketball court. I saw her playing with long nails once. And every time she fell down, it took like 5 seconds to get back up.
  16. Sorry, I meant to write Placer and CY are ASUN players.
  17. Your argument is the same one I was fighting against last year with Pryor, Placer, and Cy. Pryor and Placer are JUCO players; CY is ASUN player. No way they are going to be good at this level, the naysayers said.
  18. Well, when I showed highlights of CY last year, some people said it was against inferior talent in the ASUN. Evaluate the skills in those highlights. Do you see someone with elite ball-handling skills, for example? You can evaluate someone's talent just by watching them dribble and shoot around by themselves.
  19. This would be a huge get as well! Did we offer him? He is very skilled and has awesome stats to back it up. FG% = 54% 2FG% = 59% 3P% = 42% FT% = 75% Like Williams, very impressive numbers, especially that 2FG%.
  20. I think Dave was the first person to mention how good he is. And I think he will make fans forget CY. Williams' ability to score in the paint exceeds CYs.
  21. And that is difference between other people and me. I don't care what others want or do. I do my own evaluation, as CAAR suggests coaches do.
